Despite the Affectionate Parody status of the series, there are quite a few moments in this series that could be considered terrifying, and some of these moments are comparable to the actual games.
Season 1
- Sammy Suckerpunch from "Child’s Play." While it looks like a typical husky puppy at first glance, once he bares his teeth, he looks absolutely menacing, and let’s just say Freddy, Bonnie, and Foxy were very lucky to make it out alive.
- The Among Us episode. While the episode itself isn’t played off as scary, just like in the original game, literally anyone can be the imposter, and it reeks of Paranoia Fuel.
Season 2
- The Piggy based episode. It features Bonnie being kidnapped by the antagonists from the game, and Freddy and Foxy had to break in to save him. While they do end up getting out in the end, they had plenty of close calls throughout the episode.
- There are two sequels to Among Us! Like the original episode, it has a Paranoia Fuel feeling to it, and the third episode in particular utilizes the shapeshifter role, which leads to the imposter killing people and successfully framing it on others.
Season 3
- The first episode, "A Very Scary Christmas," sure starts the season on a high note. It features the animatronics going on vacation to a house in the middle of Charleston, which starts alright at first, but then the animatronics watch a Stylistic Suck-laden show about how to catch an Elf On The Shelf. As expected, none of the animatronics believe it, but Bonnie gets absolutely terrified, before being kidnapped in his sleep. The girls go off to call the police, while the rest of the animatronics are picked off one by one, except for Toy Freddy. While the animatronics are thankfully ok, it turns out the elf was just The Dragon to an even worse villain, Skeleton Santa. Said skeleton wanted to mutilate the animatronics into ornaments for his Christmas tree, which is pretty gruesome. Toy Freddy temporarily incapacitates him to try to free the others, but he is stabbed with a candle by Skeleton Santa. Thankfully, a Christmas themed exorcist comes in and eradicates Skeleton Santa from existence.
- Pretty much anything (scratch that, everything) involving Dreadbear as a character.
- He is a very effective Knight of Cerebus for the series, as he is played completely seriously the whole time. Hell, even Nightmarionne had a few comical moments here and there.
- The fact that he killed Nightmarionne’s parents is chilling enough, but what makes it even worse is that it causes the latter’s Sanity Slippage and Face–Heel Turn.
- His very deep voice, which only makes him sound more intimidating.
- He doesn’t give two shits whenever his fellow nightmares die, which implies that he sees them as mere pawns.
- His strength, as demonstrated when he managed to beat Freddy to a pulp in a matter of seconds.
- After hearing Nightmarionne find out who really killed his parents, he says that "It was a pleasure doing business, but your time has come."
- While his death was certainly well-deserved, being blown up isn’t exactly the most pleasant way to die. Karmic Death indeed.
- However, as shown in season 5 flashbacks, not only did he kill Thanos, steal his infinity gauntlet, and crush Satan’s skull to pieces, he managed to escape Hell. More on him in the season 5 section.
- Even without Dreadbear, there are still plenty of creepy moments throughout the arc:
- The animatronics managing to escape death row goes slightly well at first, but Vanny manages to escape after eating a cop’s face, and pulls a Jump Scare on both the viewers and the animatronics, and even after Captain Foxy gouges her eye, she kidnaps him and brings him to the rest of the villains, who inject dark remnant into his brain, making him Brainwashed and Crazy.
- On the topic of Captain Foxy, thanks to his brainwashing, he turns from a sweet fox to an absolutely dangerous killing machine, and the other animatronics were beaten to a pulp by him and were very lucky that he didn’t attempt to kill them. Even Knuckles suffered a beating from him. He also showed no remorse attacking the baby animatronics, slamming them together like rag dolls. He also slices off Deadpool’s head, and if Deadpool didn’t have healing powers, it would be fatal.
- Nightmarionne also created Frostbear, who was quite the formidable fighter, complete with him killing one of the nightmares. It’s a relief that Golden Freddy reprogrammed him.
Season 4
- The titular slasher from "The Slasher," or as the baby animatronics call him, Wes Borland. He seems nice at first, until he forces Baby Freddy to carve out Deadpool’s head, actually killing him, and kills Toy Freddy, Funtime Freddy, and Bon Bon as well. Thankfully, the animatronics defeat him and lock him in a box.
- Pennywise from "The Pantry." When Purple Foxy goes to the pantry to get a snack, he kidnaps him and locks him in. Thankfully, the rest of the blacklights manage to defeat him by shooting him in the balls, which turns him into a bag of Doritos.
- Oogie Boogie from "The Nightmare Before Christmas". When the animatronics take another Christmas vacation, he uses his pet chihuahua to kidnap Bonnie and Frostbear, to put them into his snake and spider stew. Thankfully, the other animatronics (and Jack Skellington) defeat him.
- His "death," just like the original film, involves him being skinned alive and cooked in his own stew.
- However, one of his bugs survived, gathered more bugs, and followed the animatronics home…
- Which leads to him, Springtrap, and Stanley forming an army with all the previous one-time villains, and the animatronics came very close to losing, and if it weren’t for Knuckles, the villains would have won.
- His "death," just like the original film, involves him being skinned alive and cooked in his own stew.
Season 5
- The home invader from "Bonnie’s Home Alone" (pictured above). Dear GOD. While Bonnie is home alone due to being kicked out of the pizzeria, it breaks in and cuts off the power. When Bonnie sees it in a hallway, it stands still for a second, roars and then gets down on all fours and attempts to chase Bonnie. Bonnie hid in a cabinet, but then the invader started sniffing around and then pulls another Jump Scare while opening the cabinet. When it takes off its mask, it is revealed to have black pits for eyes, and then tries to eat Bonnie. Thankfully, Toy Cupcake seemingly shoots it to death.
- However, it looks at the camera and says, "soon". We don’t know what it means, but it can’t be good.
- As mentioned above, Dreadbear manages to escape Hell in the flashbacks in the first 2 episodes, and disguises himself as a human, enlisting the help of the remaining members of Stanley’s team.
- Baldi chainsawing Wreck-It-Ralph to death over him thinking positive and negative numbers are the same thing in "Into The Gaming-Verse." Ok, Ralph was an Asshole Victim for attempting to kill Freddy over something that he did, but still…
- A Tie-Dye Freddy being grinded alive to retrieve DNA in "Tie Dye Terrors."
- In "The Time Machine," the animatronics travel through time to various locations, including 65 Million BC. Foxy and Endo-1 are attacked by a dinosaur, only for another dinosaur to come in and eat the first one alive. While it at first seemed like a Big Damn Heroes moment, the dinosaur says, "Now you die!" The animatronics retreat to the time traveling cuckoo clock and escape to the future, but the dinosaur follows them there and nearly kills Foxy. Thankfully, Deadpool defeats him.
- The majority of the episode "Jack Skellington’s Son!" isn’t exactly the scariest episode in the series, and actually laps into being quite sweet. However, the fact that Jack Skellington Jr. is actually a child who died dressed up as Jack Skellington is pretty chilling. It becomes worse when it is revealed that Jack Jr. became a skeleton because his skin decayed so much to the point where all that’s left is his skeleton wearing the Jack Skellington suit.
- Beetlejuice ripping his own skull out in "The Dog Show," especially since it happened during his food pyramid number, where the music is so damn cheerful and unfitting for something like this.
- The Stinger of "A Totally Normal FNAF Plush Episode." After the mystery man who’s been helping out the other villains erases everyone else’s memories of Freddy, the other villainsnote stand up to the man claiming that he has gone too far. This escalates into the man mercilessly decimating them one by one while "No Remorse (I Wanna Die)" by Slayer and Atari Teenage Riot plays. Special mention goes to him snapping Tie Dye Bonnie, Tie Dye Toy Foxy, and one of the pigs out of existence, which is made even more intense thanks to the song’s line "Remain calm, I’m coming to your house to kill you" playing. After the music stops and the man claims he has to make things worse, a half-second long teaser of the Big Damn Movie plays along with a loud, out of nowhere industrial noise playing.
