So wonderfully canon.

Author CRC Payne seems to have an internal Mission Statement to reference as much Batman material as they possibly can. The results are glorious.

  • In Episode 1, Damian shows Duke the Batcave and two iconic memorabilia make their debut.
    • The first is Batman’s T-Rex. The mechanical T-Rex is a robot that first appeared when Batman fought in Murray Hart's theme park known as "Dinosaur Island". It first debuted in Batman Vol 1 Issue 35, dated June 1946.
    • The second is the Giant Penny. The Penny is a memento from Batman's encounter with the Penny Plunderer in World’s Finest Vol 1 Issue 30 dated September 1947note .
  • Episode 7 seems to be solely created for mythology gags and the results are rather glorious.
    • In response to the question “Raise your hand if you started a superhero team” Dick, Jason, Tim and Damian raised their hands.
      • Dick was a founding member of the original Teen Titans, which first debuted in The Brave and the Bold #54, cover date July, 1964.
      • Jason was the founder and the leader of Red Hood and the Outlaws which first debuted in Red Hood and the Outlaws #1, cover date November, 2011.
      • Tim created Young Justice which first debuted in Young Justice: The Secret #1, cover date June, 1998.
      • Damian found and led his own iteration of the Teen Titans, which first debuted in Teen Titans (Vol 6) #1, cover date December, 2016.
    • The next question is about changing superhero names.
      • Dick first appeared as Robin in Detective Comics #38, cover date April, 1940. He became Nightwing in Tales of the Teen Titans #44, cover date July 1984.
      • Jason first appeared as Robin in Batman #357, cover date March, 1983. After his death and resurrection he became Red Hood II in Batman #635, cover date February 2005.
      • Tim first became Robin in Robin #1, cover date January, 1991. He became Red Robin in Red Robin #1, cover date August, 2009. Tim briefly took the name Drake in Young Justice #9, cover date December, 2019.
      • Cass first appeared as Batgirl in Batman #567, cover date July, 1999. She became Black Bat in Batman Incorporated #6, cover date May, 2011. She took her father’s name Orphan in Batman & Robin Eternal #26, cover date March, 2016.
    • The question after that is training with assassins.
      • Cass and Damian were trained by assassins from birth. Jason was trained by both the League of Assassins and the All-Caste after his resurrection. Jason brings up the Nightwing Renegade Arc (where Dick trained with Deathstroke and trained his daughter Rose Wilson/Ravager). Tim also raises his hand, referencing the time he trained with Lady Shiva.
    • The second-to-last bingo was who died and resurrected. Jason was killed by the Joker in Batman #427 cover date December, 1988. He was resurrected in Batman #635, cover date February 2005. Damian was impaled in the chest and died in Batman Incorporated #8, cover date April 2013. He was resurrected in Batman and Robin #37, cover date February 2015. Cass was both killed in a duel with her mother and had her heart resuscitated, reviving her in Batgirl #25, cover date April, 2002.
      • Dick mentions "that thing with the Crime Syndicate" and isn't sure if it counts. He's referring to when his heart stopped for a few seconds when the Crime Syndicate trapped him in the bomb called Murder Machine in Forever Evilnote
  • In Episode 9 Steph dons Bruce’s Matches Malone disguise, which Jason has also used before her. Tim dons his Caroline Hill disguise from Batman #626, cover date June 2004.
  • In Episode 12, Damian spray paints messages on Tim's Red Robin suit as the final prank in their escalating prank war, a sort of morbid homage to the dead Robin shrine in Dawn of Justice.
  • In Episode 21 Tim is volunteering at a community center. In Red Robin he was very involved in the Wayne Foundation's charitable Gotham Knights community center project, helping plan get the first community center open.
  • In Episode 22, the punishment for losing the tournament is to don the "Discowing" suit, Dick Grayson's original Nightwing suit, which debuted in Tales of the Teen Titans #44, cover date July 1984.
  • In Episode 23, Jason mentions breaking his best friend out of prison. In Red Hood and the Outlaws New 52 volume 1, he did indeed break Roy Harper out of prison.
  • In Episode 31, one of Jason Todd's weaknesses is listed as "crowbars". Additionally, the décor of Jason's apartment includes a tire with a Batmobile hubcap placed on top of a bookshelf; Post-Crisis Jason Todd was introduced as a troubled street youth trying to steal the hubcaps off the Batmobile. In Episode 34, to enforce Bruce taking bed rest after some serious injuries and stopping him from sneaking out anyway, Alfred gets Jason to steal the wheels off all the Bat-vehicles.
    • His fondness for Pride and Prejudice was something he apparently picked up in prison (Batman and Robin #23, July 2011).
  • In Episode 39 Tim mentions that when he faked an injury to protect his secret identity, he spent a year in "recovery" to sell it, referencing when he did just that in Red Robin to deal with Vicky Vale and two corrupt cops who were giving him trouble.
  • Episodes 45 and 46 show that Jason Todd still has lingering trauma from the Joker brutalizing him with a crowbar and leaving him for dead in A Death in the Family.
  • Episode 54 has Zatanna turn Bruce's tuxedo into a Superman costume. Someone says that Bruce looks just like Superman when he's wearing the suit. They frequently acted as body doubles for each other in the Silver Age and in Superman: American Alien #3, Deathstroke mistook Clark for his target, Bruce Wayne.
  • Episodes 75 and 76 showcases the Batarangs used by the live-action Batmen.
  • Episode 77 had Dick, Jason and Kate slipping into a super-secret lead-lined vault hosting various embarrassing costumes. Among them are the Batman: The Brave and the Bold costume, the Batman & Robin first costume, Adam West's Bat-costume, the Batman from DC One Million, the samurai-inspired costume from Batman Ninja, the costume worn by Knight, Owlman's costume, Jean-Paul Valley's "KnightsEnd" armor, the Omega costume, and the Bat-Zebra costume. Jason pulls out the Bat-Mummy costume, Kate brings out the costume worn by the Batman of Zur-En-Arrh and Dick brings out a toga. Jason and Kate also offer the bright green and bright pink costumes before Dick hauls out the winner: the Rainbow Batman costume.
  • Episode 83 consists of Bruce showing Green Lantern some surprising items on his utility belt. Sure enough, one of these is the Bat-Shark Repellant from Batman (1966).
  • Episode 99 has an image of Dick sleeping with an elephant plushie, most likely referencing Sithka from Batman: The Animated Series. Sithka is given another reference in Episode 108 when Dick tells Lian how he was friends with elephants in the circus.
  • Episode 100 actually shows a flashback of Jason's well-known past as a street kid who was caught by Batman while trying to steal the tires from the Batmobile.
  • Episode 111 just introduced Haley, the Precious Puppy Dick adopted in Nightwing (Infinite Frontier).
  • Maroni, a crime lord from the comics, is The Man Behind the Man for Episode 115.
