Recap / Batman Wayne Family Adventures Episode 7 Vigilante Bingo

Go To

"Now that’s a story I want to hear.”
Duke Thomas/The Signal

Duke gets introduced to Vigilante Bingo by Dick, Jason, Tim, Cass and Damian. They play a couple of rounds, weirding out the newest Bat, before Dick tells Duke about a funny Noodle Incident.

Tropes

  • Atrocious Alias: It cannot be understated how awful of a codename Drake was for Tim even if it was very brief.
  • Black Comedy: “Who has died and been resurrected” is a bingo question.
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: The Bat kids have seen and done so much during their crime-fighting careers that training with assassins or being killed and brought back is only considered semi-unusual. Duke is the opposite of this trope; he's very new and understandably unsettled by what his siblings have been through.
  • Continuity Cavalcade: The series had been pretty light on Call-Backs before, but this episode doesn’t hold back at all.
  • Death Is Cheap: Jason, Cass and Damian have all been killed and revived. Dick’s heart stopped for seconds, but he was resuscitated by Lex Luthor. Jason and Tim disagree on whether it counts.
  • Dissonant Serenity: Duke is disturbed how nonchalant some people are about dying and coming back to life.
  • The Leader: Dick, Jason, Tim and Damian have all led their own respective teams at one point.
  • Noodle Incident: All the Bat-kids (besides Duke) have pranked Batman in the field. We only get any meaningful information about one of Dick and Damian's incidents: exchanging Bruce’s smoke bombs with glitter bombs. Damian swears that he was only involved because of Dick.
  • Training from Hell: Everyone except Duke was trained by an assassin at one point or another. Dick dodges the question about being trained by Deathstroke.
