Acnologia: As we stand inside here, my flesh form is on a path of rampant destruction outside the time rift. bringing about the end of the world. The hour of reckoning is now upon us. Civilization's reached its demise.
Natsu: Why are you doing all of this?

Moral Event Horizon in this series.

  • Duke Everlue crossed it when he forced a famous writer Kemu Zaleon to write a book about him by threatening to revoke his entire family's citizenship, and tossing him into a prison cell for three years, all because he refused, culminating in Kemu being Driven to Suicide.
  • Erigor crosses it with his plan to kill all of the Fiore's Guild Masters as revenge against the magical world for his guild being declared a Dark Guild for refusing to reject assassination requests.
  • Jose Porla crosses it with his war on Fairy Tail by having Gajeel destroy Fairy Tail's guildhall and beat up three of the guild's members, using Jude Heartfilia's request to bring Lucy back to him as an excuse to satisfy his jealously. He goes as far as to destroy all of Magnolia to do so and kill everyone in Fairy Tail to make Makarov suffer.
  • Similar to his master, Sol of Phantom Lord crosses it by mind-raping Elfman into reliving the night he supposedly killed his younger sister, before nearly turning him into stone and planning to have him experience the said memory for eternity.
  • Buli and Guli, a pair of Zeref cultists from the Tower of Heaven, crossed it in flashbacks, where they massacred several villages and kidnapped their children to use them as a labor force necessary to complete the Tower, going as far to subject anyone who resists them to the Cold-Blooded Torture.
  • Brain crosses it when he shoots Cobra in the back for not defeating Natsu fast enough. However, he crossed the line before the events of the series, when he subjected Ultear to torturous experiments and lied to her mother Ur that Ultear has died.
  • Zancrow crosses it when he incinerates his own soldiers just for warning him about Natsu's strength, only to go further into it when he reveals to Merudy that Ultear is the one who massacred her village.
  • Ziemma Orland crosses it twice. The first is when he kicks out Yukino for losing a match by having her strip herself naked in front of her guildmates and erase her guild mark. The second is when he nearly vaporizes Lector for wearing the Sabertooth mark. The fact no one in Saber Tooth was seen smirking during those two acts highlights how much of a scumbag Ziemma is when compared to the rest of the guild.
  • Future Rouge crosses it when he kills Future Lucy in an attempt to kill her present self. This act instantly turns Natsu and company against him. He later tops himself when he reveals to Natsu that he killed Sting to absorb his powers.
  • Treasure hunter Hiroshi seems to have crossed it in Chapter 346, stating that a load of giants can die simply because they're not a valuable treasure.
  • If Jackal didn't cross it by bombing the Magic Council building, killing everyone but Dornabolt present, then he definetely crosses it by nearly forcing Lucy into a Sadistic Choice in either having an elderly councilman or a pregnant woman be killed.
  • Similar to Jackal, if Ezel didn’t cross it by massacring an entire village just to get one council member, then he crosses it by nearly beating Wendy to death and trying to eat Carla alive in front of her.
  • The Establishing Character Moment for Mard Geer Tartaros is also his MEH crossing. Torturing Kyoka for wasting her time by torturing a human is bad enough, but the fact he's perfectly fine with getting his own men absorbed by Alegria is enough to tell the viewer he's just as bad, if not worse than Jackal or Ezel.
  • The former Magic Council Chairman Crawford Theme, crossed it when he sold out his former colleges, the magical world, Erza and Mira, and all of humanity to Tartaros for pure greed.
  • Operation Purification, a plan of massacring a village full of innocent people to summon Zeref, isn't probably enough to qualify it as Arlock's MEH crossing, is it? It isn't. The moment he summones one of the Eighteen War Gods of the Yakuma, he immediately sacrifices his own followers and laughs like a maniac when they all begin to die. Any wonder why Zeref hates those who commit crimes in his name?
  • Ankhselam has never been seen on-screen, but he quickly crosses it by giving Zeref the worst curse imaginable - the one that makes person kill any living being if they expresses value for life - for trying to resurrect his younger brother, because it’s something unmeant for mortals to mess with. For those who believe that's not enough, then we have him giving the same curse to Mavis, all because she used an incomplete Law spell to save a friend from a Demonic Possession by an Artifact of Doom. The fandom quickly agreed that he makes Acnologia huggable in comparsion.
  • Invel Yura crosses it when he forces Gray and Juvia to fight each other to the death, fully expecting Gray to win so that his inner darkness can awake and turn him into a warrior who can kill E.N.D. (i.e. Gray's friendly rival Natsu, meaning Gray would have killed two of his friends), an action that forces Juvia to perform a Heroic Suicide, since she doesn't want to kill Gray or have him live with the guilt of killing her.
  • In Irene’s flashbacks, General Rung crossed it when he subjected Irene to torture and public humilation after she began transforming into a dragon, all out of paranoic belief that she would become a monster like Acnologia, until he decided to execute her in cold blood despite her being pregnant with their child.
  • If Acnologia didn't cross it by brutally killing Igneel in front of Natsu, then he definitely crosses it by spitefully and sadistically destroying Irene's corpse for creating the Dragon Slayer Magic. Erza and Wendy's horrified reaction at the latter just highlights it.

Movies, Specials, Filler, Spin-Offs:

  • Daphne crosses it when she planned to use Natsu as a living battery to power her Dragonoid, and use it to wipe out all of Magnolia and the entire continent all because nobody believed that she saw a real dragon as a child.
  • Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Priestess: Duke Cream crossed it when he tries to have Éclair burned at the stake as a sacrifice.
  • Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry: Zash Caine has pretty much no problems with crossing this in the first few minutes by forcing the White Tiger squadron to kill each other while he watches and seems to enjoy it, only to go further when he betrays Animus to use the Dragon Cry to destroy the Fiore Kingdom.
