  • "The Four Humors" are working for Bill, and each girl represents one of the four bodily fluids: black bile, blood, phlegm, and yellow bile.
  • "The Parishioner Redeemed" is Anglican and blames himself for his assault because he's gay and prideful.
  • "The federales" are law enforcement officials discussing the Weasels, whose personal effects are Exhibits A, B, C, D, and K.

  • "Prisoner 88" was almost executed at midnight for a False Rape Accusation and the number 88 in his name refers to the number of constellations.

    The Knots of Nature 
  • Similar to the Korean folktale Janghwa Hongryeon jeon, "Janghwa" had a miscarriage and her step-father, who was the one who got her pregnant, tried to drown her to make it look like a suicide, but "Hongryeon" killed him to save her sister.
  • "Wú Wěi Hú" name means "no-tailed fox"; her father forced her to marry a man and, when she escaped, he boxed her ears, causing her to go deaf on one side and develop amnesia.
  • "The Misfortune Teller" has hyperthymesia, so he can never forget his gang-rape by the cult and he becomes agoraphobic as a result.
  • "Heaven's Fire" had anger issues and was punished for fighting back, but this caused him to remain still while being assaulted.
