Crowdfunded Comics

In the 21st century, with the comics industry increasingly dominated by major media conglomerates, a number of smaller comic-book creators have turned to crowdfunding in order to get their comics published, directly appealing to consumers for funding.

Oftentimes, it's webcomics that use crowdfunding which often have Webcomic Print Collection runs, collected works, reissues and also limited edition or special exclusive variants.

The creators finally went to crowdfunding to produce an omnibus edition of the entire comic, plus new chapters that would give the story a proper ending.
