Magnus is a comic-book series created by Frederick J. Littles, Devin Arscott, and Bruno Abdias. It is published by Wise Acre Comics.

Magnus Jakuta thought he was just a normal kid living in Chicago until his uncle Stamos suddenly crash-landed in the middle of the street, pursued by otherworldly enemies. Turns out Magnus is the heir to throne of Nulion, a planet located in a different dimension. Nulion has been ruled by the brutal tyrant Iniq ever since Magnus' father, the rightful heir, fled to Earth, and now Magnus must reclaim his birthright and free the people.

Unfortunately for Magnus, Stamos is killed before he can instruct the boy about his destiny, and now the people who killed Stamos are after him.

No relation to the Christian Fantasy novel or the wrestler.

This series contains examples of:

  • Afrofuturism: Nulion is a high-tech world that's heavily inspired by Yoruba religion, with many of its prominent denizens being named after orisha.
  • The Big Guy: Atax is enormous and wields an ax that looks like it would give a normal human difficulty.
  • Black and Nerdy: Magnus is first shown in science class, where he is apparently a good student.
  • Blood Knight: Atax loves killing and maiming things, which is probably why he was not sent with Jinx and Blyze to retrieve Magnus.
  • Color Motif: Oshun's clothes and jewelry are all the color of honey, which also happens to be her favorite food.
  • Depending on the Artist: The official art for Jinx shows her with a voluptuous figure, but the interior art gives her skinnier build.
  • Disappeared Dad: Magnus' dad Ragnis is the rightful heir to the throne of Nulion, but nobody's seen him in years.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: Stamos' powers include geokinesis, allowing him to manipulate the dirt and rocks around him.
  • Flying Brick: Flight and superhuman strength appear to be part of the standard package for Nulionites.
  • Genius Bruiser: According to his profile, Stamos is both incredibly smart and a tactical genius.
  • Going Commando: If Oshun is wearing any underwear under her sarong, there is no sign of it.
  • Good Thing You Can Heal: In the first issue, Blyze takes a sword right through the chest, but is seen walking at the end of the issue, albeit with assistance from Jinx. According to his profile, he can heal rapidly from wounds by submerging himself in flames.
  • I Call It "Vera": Atax's ax is called "Sinister Reaver".
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Stamos dispatches Blyze by shoving a sword straight through his chest. This doesn't kill him, but it does take him out of the fight.
  • Mother Goddess: Olokun is the mother of all the orishas and guardian of the Odua sector - which includes Earth.
  • Reality Warper: Olokun's crown is supposedly woven from the fabric of multiple realities and allows her to manipulate reality.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Stamos used to be the leader of the Miscreants, and the lover of Jinx, but he turned against them to protect his nephew.
