Pumpkin is a horror comic created by Jason Conley and William Pompeau, and published by Fate68 Comics. It is funded via Kickstarter.
Ciera "Pumpkin" Webber was the only survivor of a brutal attack that killed her parents and left her an orphan. Now she tries to make a living for herself hustling on the Las Vegas strip, but this is complicated by the fact that she has a demonic alter-ego that compels her punish bad men, and the strip has no shortage of such men.
This series contains examples of:
- Asshole Victim: Pumpkin's alter-ego targets violent abusive men and turns them to dust.
- Boom, Headshot!: In the first issue, a would-be robber shoots Pumpkin straight in the face. Much to his horror, it doesn't kill her.
- Copycat Cover: The first issue has a variant cover inspired by John Buscema's cover for The Savage She-Hulk #1. Issue 2's variants include one that homages The Amazing Spider-Man #261.
- Kiss of Death: Pumpkin's kisses cause men to turn to dust.
- Nightmare Face: When Pumpkin transforms, she develops a face with a terrible jack-o-lantern grin.
- Scary Black Man: Subverted with Bear, the bouncer at the club that Pumpkin frequents. Despite being a large and intimidating black man, he's the nicest character in the cast.
- Take That!: The series shares a title with a series from Obscura Comics that also happens to feature a pumpkin-themed heroine. Consequently, issue 2's Kickstarter-exclusive cover features Ciera dressed as a Ghostbuster and trapping the other Pumpkin in a Ghost Trap.
- Wretched Hive: The strip in 1978 is rife with creeps and abusers, and consequently, Pumpkin doesn't feel too bad about stealing from them.
