Ho Yay / Stand Still, Stay Silent

• Emil and Lalli are building up quite the track record:
  • For starters, they are constantly enjoying each other's company despite not sharing any language and Lalli not exactly being a people person.
  • Lalli seems to not really like being touched, especially if he doesn't know the person, but seems to give Emil at least the leeway he gives his own family members after less than two days of knowing him.
  • Emil will panic and ask Sigrun to help him if he gets attacked by a troll. Lalli (who's incidentally much more experienced than him) may be in danger? Sigrun has to physically restrain Emil from going into an impulse rescue.
  • They get a Sleep Cute panel after their first mission together.
  • Emil was once seen helping Mikkel give Lalli a bath after the latter came back from scouting particularly dirty, and was the one doing the actual scrubbing.
  • Emil once lent Lalli his uniform jacket to use as a blanket while Lalli's own was being washed. When Emil tried to get it back from Lalli, there was an actual tug-of-war for it, to the point that Emil ended up promising him he could have it back later.
  • Lalli's dream of what he'd like to wake up from his Deep Sleep to includes getting woken up by Emil. Lalli actually has a family member in the crew. Emil happened to be outside when Lalli actually woke up, but the dream would have been spot-on about Emil being at Lalli's bedside if he had woken up at various earlier moments.
  • When Reynir entered the room in which Lalli was with the intent to yell at him, Emil happened to be in the room also and asked Reynir to leave during the few moments during which he just stood there staring at Lalli, giving off the impression that he really wanted to be alone with Lalli. After Reynir grabbed Lalli by his shirt at yelled at him, Emil punched Reynir in the face despite the fact that Lalli had already taken care of things via Man Bites Man, and after doing it had a look on his face suggesting that the punch was an uncontrolled reflex.
  • The two of them end up Sharing a Body at some point in the story.
• Reynir and Onni. The circumstances of their first meeting have left Reynir with quite a lot of admiration for Onni, which sometimes makes him act like a schoolgirl with a crush on an upperclassman around him (including asking Onni if he remembers him each time he talks with him).
  • In Chapter 10, Reynir somehow manages to call Onni for help via the mage-space while the latter is wide awake and in the middle of a task. One usually has to either fall asleep or make some kind of effort to access the mage-space, Reynir is supposed to be an extremely weak mage and their only other previous interaction at that point of the story was their first meeting.
  • Chapter 14 gave us a scene where Reynir finds an owl in Onni's protected area and starts petting it, thinking it's Onni's luonto. It turns out to be Onni himself, whose first instinct is to angrily ask Reynir what he thinks he's doing.
  • Reynir's line on page page 524 is so obvious that there's fan art of it. Note that Reynir is actually talking about Onni being The Cavalry via long-distance magic the previous evening:
  Reynir: First of all: Thank you for last night, that was awesome.
  Onni: Yes, yes.
• On the female side of things, there is a "younger one adoring the older one" dynamic between Tuuri and Sigrun as well.
• On page 156 of Adventure II, Sigrun makes a gesture that could be interpreted as referring to breasts while talking about having a life to get back to.
• There is also a comparatively small following for Lalli and Reynir, thanks to their first sort-of encounter via Boy of My Dreams and the possible alternate interpretation of Lalli's hostility towards Reynir. The pair also happens to make a not completely out of nowhere Pair the Spares for those who'd rather pair Emil and/or Tuuri with someone else than them.
