General
- The friendship that develops between Dib and the twins. While it has a rocky start, they quickly bond into True Companions.
- Skoodge's loyal friendship to Zim, despite getting little in return.
- Ying's Undying Loyalty to Nyx, and her adoration of Zim.
Season 1
The Horrible Test Flight of Doom
- Norlock's love for his pet wolf Phil is apparent from the moment they first share a scene.
- Zim and Norlock having a Friendship Moment when they first meet, bonding over their shared love of people's suffering.
Parent Teacher Redux
- Dib swearing to protect everyone even though they are, in his words, "a bunch of oblivious jerks".
- Dib's concern for Gaz when he sees her talking to Norlock, albeit misplaced, is still good to see.
- While it's hard to tell, given her general personality, there appears to be genuine chemistry to Miss Bitters' and Norlock's flirting.
- Mrs. Slunchy survives being attacked by Norlock.
- Despite no one believing him, Dib notes that at least this time he didn't get into any trouble.
The Hideous Returning Girl
- Norlock hitting it off with the Tallest in their first meeting.
GIR and Phil's (and Minimoose's) Excellent Adventure
- This chapter more than any other shows how adorably close GIR has gotten to Phil.
With Friends Like These…
- Dib quickly bonding with the twins upon meeting them. And while things don't go well on their first outing, they quickly rebound from that and form a coherent team.
Return of the Saucer Morons
- The chapter opens with Dib spending the night hanging out with his friends, which is noted to have become a regular occurrence.
Clash of the Goths
- In sharp contrast to Gaz, Viera is deeply concerned about the possibility of her brother being in danger.
Tenn Meets World
- The fact that Tenn is apparently close enough friends with Senior that she can just call him up when she needs to. And he advises her to make the most of her reassignment to Earth rather than fruitlessly trying to protest it, knowing that the Tallest will never change their minds about it.
- Despite being on opposing teams, Skoodge still gives Tenn friendly advice on how to cope with her new situation.
Beach Trip of Doom
- It's played mostly for laughs due to Zim's annoyance, but there’s the brief scene of GIR nuzzling Zim after sneaking along on the beach trip.
- Dib taking the time to just enjoy the beach trip for the brief holiday it is, and have some fun with his first real friends.
The Game Changes
- Skoodge's loyalty to Zim trumping that which he's been trained to have to the Tallest, to the point of joining in his rebellion. Admittedly, this is mostly a case of The Dog Bites Back over how the Tallest have treated him, but at least part of it is genuine friendship.
- And to give Zim credit, while he's more focused on how the Tallest have wronged him, he does cite their treatment of Skoodge when recruiting him to join in the rebellion.
- In a twisted way, there's Norlock snapping Zim out of it when the Tallest reveal the truth of his mission and put him in a Villainous BSoD, convincing him to go rogue and plot against them in revenge.
Showdown of Doom, Part 1
- Tak is infuriated when she sees Steve attacking MIMI.
- And after getting ahold of the crystal, she gives Tenn the honor of activating Project Domination's transponder.
- It's very easy to overlook as it comes in the midst of her most despicable moment, but even as Gaz is selling out Team Save Earth by giving the location of Project Domination to Zim, she demands that he make sure not to kill Dib in the process of claiming the weapon. Because she knows her father would be upset if anything happened to him.
Season 2
New Doom, Same as the Old Doom
- Nyx acting completely Adorkable over getting to meet and fight alongside Zim.
New Girls and Explosions
- Building off of the previous chapter, Nyx is nearly as excited to find out that she gets to pretend to be Zim's sister as part of her cover. And when he gives her a hug at skool to sell that story, she's clearly thrilled.
- Nyx and Gaz surprisingly hit it off and quickly bond over video games.
- Ying gives a heartfelt speech about why he chooses to serve Nyx — because she's the one who gave him the free will to choose in the first place, something he's forever grateful for.
- Nyx is pissed after Ying is damaged during the fight with Team Save Earth, showing how deeply she cares for him.
The Hunt of Doom
- Gaz and Nyx's newfound friendship established last chapter is confirmed to be ongoing, as they're shown having lunch together, with it being noted that they've done this every day.
Infernal Inspection
- Tallest Miyuki took pity on Darth when he was born blind, having him spared despite this deformity. He remembers her fondly for this, even at one point stating that she's the closest thing he's ever had to a mother.
- Senior hosting a club for Irkens like himself who enjoy human culture, the whole group looking to be genuinely good friends.
- Senior and Darth turn out to be old friends, close enough that Senior isn't even phased by the whole "head of the Secret Police" thing.
- Hardass though she may be, Wiyn is still A Mother To Her Men, refusing to let the Consulars interrogate her soldiers without her present, and being outright pissed when several are killed during the Assassination Attempt on the Consulars.
Space Road Trip
- This chapter really sells how close Gaz and Nyx have gotten. Aside from them being so happy to go on a trip together, Gaz actually feels bad about snapping at Nyx over a petty argument, while Nyx is genuinely worried over Gaz when she's grabbed by Slumia's security.
- Nyx and Grissom also turn out to be actual friends rather than just business associates, and share an amiable relationship throughout their interactions. He also takes pains to calm her worries about Gaz and helps out with the situation.
Battle of the Fans
- Zim shows pride in Minimoose, referring to him as his greatest invention. And when Minimoose responds by nuzzling him affectionately, Zim actually allows him to do so for a full minute before brushing him off.
Tournament of Doom, Part 1
- Just how happy and excited Dib and the twins are, first when they get the Spittle Runner operational, and then when they're using it to fly through space.
- Team Save Earth meeting and befriending the Resisty.
Tournament of Doom, Part 2
- Senior still considers Lard Nar a friend despite the bad blood between their species.
- Darth being willing to let the Resisty and Team Save Earth go despite their attempt to attack the Empire, in only because he doesn't view them as a serious threat.
- He also takes the time to compliment Ixane on her fighting skills.
- The Resisty leaving the humans with a communicator so they can stay in touch.
Night Terrors
- Dib complimenting Viera on her new magic skills.
- Dib actually snapping at Gaz in defense of Viera when the former snarks about leaving the latter in her nightmare. It's noted that for once, even one of his sister's trademark death glares doesn't affect him when she gets angry at him for it.
