“Gaz” is actually an evil clone and was impersonating the real Gaz the whole time.

The real Gaz is actually nicer, isn’t a goth(according to Jhonen Vasquez; It was once speculated she was a goth girl because of her dark nature, clothing, and appearance; yet Jhonen said something about her not being a goth but only her style, her outfit being heavily based off of Pepito from Squee!. Jhonen possibly changed Gaz’s design in the comics and movie to portray her more as a gamer.) and wear a light green-grayish shirt with an 8-bit rabbit skull paired with a brown skirt. One year before Zim’s arrival, Gaz enter her dad’s laboratory, trying to find her lost game console. She find a cloning device and mistook it for her lost game console. After leaving her dad’s lab, she went to the living room and plugged the “game console” on. Just as she about to play, she got zapped by the cloning device and lose consciousness. The cloning device examined her DNA and quickly create a clone of her, along with Fake Memories that duplicate her original’s memories. The clone woke up and saw her unconscious double lying there, Believing herself to be the original and assumed it was a clone of hers, The clone then take the cloning device and the unconscious Gaz and throw it into dumpster.
