Two dogs who really have each other’s backs.

"My puppy and I, together forever! That’s all I want!"
- Kate

For a show about adorable puppies finding their best friends, there are plenty of heartwarming moments throughout the show.

As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked. You Have Been Warned.

    In general
  • Every single Chosen Pet gets excited once they are told they were chosen to be a child's companion, often saying that it's a dream come true.
  • Every child who receives a pet from Pocketville are overjoyed the moment they catch sight of them, knowing that their companion will aid them in whatever problem they have.
  • Magic always has Kate’s back no matter what. Throughout the episodes he’s seen helping Kate or saving her from any peril.
  • Wallace genuinely cares about Ava, no matter how stubborn she gets.

    The Friendship Ceremony
  • Although Caroline’s parents were so busy with work that they were unable to play with her daughter, they did give a gift to her for her birthday. This shows that they still love her no matter what, even if they are very busy. Caroline is saddened once her mother tells her that she and her father have to get back to work, but she also tells her that she’ll get to call her later.
  • Caroline meeting Dot for the first time. She’s so happy she finally gets to have not only someone to play with, but a cuddly canine companion to keep her company while her parents are busy with work.
  • Peter comforts his daughter Kate as she has to deal with not only moving to a new city but her mother being away for work for the time being.

    The Unexpected Guest
  • As part of the third and final trial, Balloon convinces Kate that the stone she’s holding is a magic stone which would grant her status as princess. Kate tells her that she has to be loyal to Princess Ava no matter what, even if she’s away. Balloon tells her she’s right.

    Evershell the Wise
  • When Kate wakes up, Magic presents to her a whole breakfast set at the table near the window just for the two of them.
  • Magic gives Kate praise after she successfully crosses the cave rapids.

    Going Home
  • As said by William, the Friendship Heart can grant any wish as long as it’s shared by true friends. In Kate’s case, it’s getting back to her home with her father. To get to and from Pocketville, Kate and Magic will have to say the Arc Words:
Kate: My puppy and I, together forever! That’s all I want!
Magic: Katie and I, together forever! That’s all I want!
  • Kate convinces her father to keep Magic. At first he says no, considering pets a huge commitment, but later he changes his mind off-screen. Shows how dedicated Kate is to take care of Magic.
Kate: I’m so happy we’re together. I don’t feel lonely anymore!

    A Big Responsibility
  • Magic gives Kate encouraging words while she tries to figure out how the Pocketpedia works.
  • Starting with this episode, Evershell is noticeably friendlier to Kate and her friends than in his initial appearance in “Evershell the Wise”, smiling at them and keeping his eyes open to see them rather than in the earlier episode where he’s very mysterious.
  • Before coming with Kate and her friends to the Magic Fountain for his Friendship Ceremony, Toby gets a branch as a reminder of his former home, just like how Martina took an olive branch with her as a reminder of Tuscany.
  • Martina being so happy to meet Toby that she convinces her mother to keep him.
Mary: I haven’t seen you smile like this for a long time.

    Crest of a Wave
  • Kate and Annabelle racing on the beach as Magic chases a ball.
  • Annabelle meeting Swimmy. As she gets closer to him to see him, she gets in the water, realizing that it isn't as scary as she thought.
Annabelle: I’m not scared! I’ve done it! This is great! This is the best day of my life, and it’s all thanks to you. I just wish I could pet you, but I can’t swim yet.

    Frisbee
  • While it's sad that Liam felt like he didn't need the frisbee anymore because of his busy father, he did give it to Kate, knowing that she and Magic may want it. Little did he know it was important for their next quest in Pocketville.
  • All of the dogs seeing the frisbee immediately chase it like normal housepet puppies. How adorable.
  • The next thing that Otto does once sent to the Big City besides meeting Liam was to grab the cellphone out of the hand of his father to catch his attention. Immediately does Liam's father ask him if he wants to play, and Kate shows up to give the frisbee back to him.

    Don't Be Afraid
  • Kate waking up Magic with a doggy treat.
    Kate: Works every time!
  • Although Ellie's advice for Emily's mother isn't that helpful, it's nice that she helps prove that cats aren't all that scary and plenty of them are lovable.
  • That brief moment of pure glee Camo has, now knowing that he'll have a friend of his own.
Camo: Wonderful… I can't wait to show Emily's mum there'll be nothing to fear!
  • Camo meets Emily and her mother and immediately does the mom usher her away. However, he gets an idea to present Emily's mother a flower. This makes her realize that cats really aren't that bad.
Emily: See, you don't have to be afraid, Mom.
Emily's mother: He is kind of cute.

    Food for Thought
  • Goldie makes a special soup for her friends as a way of saying both "thank you" and "farewell" to everyone, once she is chosen as the perfect pet for Molly. How thoughtful of her.
  • Goldie gets Molly to eat an apple by biting into one at the market. Molly finds that the apple tastes delicious, and even more so than sweets.

    New Friends
  • Kate is nervous about attending her new school as she wasn't familiar with anyone there, but Magic assures her that she'll do fine and that she'll make new friends there, though he hopes she'll still have time for him.
  • The first student Kate meets is Alexia, who is friendly with her during class and recess. When Kate gets out of sight to travel to Pocketville, even Alexia is concerned about what she's doing.
  • Danny remarking that he loved school because he was always the first one there.
  • William gets riled up once Eva tells him she gives the orders now, but Balloon and Mela get him to calm down.
  • Wallace calls Ava "princess," where the latter thinks he knows that she is a real princess. However, he says that it's just a nickname, and gives her more food that he obtained. This was the start of Wallace being friendlier to Ava.
Ava: You’re the first person to help me since I got here. Why are you being so kind?
    Wallace: It’s obvious! We’re friends, aren’t we?

    Patience
  • Wallace gives Ava more food even though she still refuses to eat.
  • When Ava doubts that Wallace believes that she is an actual princess as she crosses the road, Wallace notices an incoming car and quickly pushes Ava to safety. Eventually Ava offers him to be her mentor, to which he accepts.
  • Kiki offers to help Charlie concentrate on Claudia's lesson. Being her star student, she finished all of her assignments and thus, she could be sent to Alexia.
  • Kiki gives Alexia the answer to a math problem she tries to figure out by barking three consecutive times.
  • Kate tells her father to not waste his days off work and that Magic can look after her while she rests.
  • Magic is saddened as he watches Kate struggling to sleep well because of her fever, and he places the Friendship Heart in her hand which gives her a pleasant dream.
  • Kate meets Ava in a dream, who tells her these important words when it comes to searching for her:
Ava: You need patience, my dear Kate. Remember that anything worth having is worth waiting for.
  • Kate's father wonders how Magic isn't wearing her collar and she tells him that he was only playing.
  • Wallace tells Ava she needs patience when it comes to training her reflexes after she gets injured from the tire test.

    Believe in Yourself!
  • Kate is nice to Valerie and tells her that she did well at the volleyball game, just that she just needs some more confidence. However, Valerie still thinks she won't do any better.
  • After Ava and Wallace are chased into the warehouse by a pack of stray dogs and Ava jumps from tire to tire on the pile of tires rather than stumbling, Wallace reveals that the other dogs weren't chasing them out of revenge because of a supposed stolen steak, but to motivate Ava to practice her reflexes again. At first Ava is not pleased, but then she realizes what she had just done because of them.
  • Frankie struggles getting up on the bench, and Valerie helps him up by using her duffel bag as a stepping stool for him. Kate tells her that he has the same problem but deals with it in a different way, and that he wants to watch her play. This motivates her to get back in the game, to where she helps her team win thanks to her newfound confidence.

    Heads Up
  • Pia helping her Dalmatian partner climb over the wall in the second trial.
  • Pia gets Michaela to safety by alerting her of the two boys who were about to throw water balloons at her.

    The Bargain
  • Wallace being in a happy mood.
Wallace: When the sun is shining and the birds singing, it’s great to be a stray.
  • When Wallace notices that Ava had been zoning out, he says that he sounds like an old fool talking to himself, but Ava tells him that he’s neither old nor a fool.
  • Ava gives more comforting words to a pair of stray cats who were hiding from the Pet Buster, who had them imprisoned at his house for a while but then had set them free when he started concentrating on searching for Ava.
Ava: You poor things. It all sounds terrible. But you’re safe now, and you do not have to be afraid anymore.
Blue cat: Thank you. We feel safer now.
  • Stephan is very nice to Kate’s dog Magic and even gives a piece of meat to feed to him, despite his mother’s stickler to absolute cleanliness.
  • When the Magic Drop is blown away to the waterfall, Kate decides to go get it, but Magic tries to stop her because he’s afraid of her getting hurt because of the strong current and waterfall combined, and even offers to help her because he doesn’t want her to be alone. Magic was speaking to Kate as if he were family.
Magic: We are a team. We’re partners. Together forever.
  • Kate tosses the Friendship Heart to Mela just as the branch she was standing on cracks even more. Then, Magic grabs Kate by the pants leg to get her to safety. What a team.
  • Stephan meeting Oriliam for the first time. He just met the pet he really wanted.
  • Oriliam wiping his hooves on the mat before he goes inside, with Stephan following suit.

    Nearly!
  • While William and Danny talk about gathering more supplies outside the castle, a few terrier puppies are seen practicing for the play, one of them practicing a jump. Talk about cute.
  • Zull saving Kate from a falling beam. Although he's only doing those kind acts to earn her trust so he can sneak in and grab hair from her and Magic, this could potentially show that he really does have a kinder side to his rough-and-tough personality.
    • These comments from two of the Royal Guards:
Danny: Maybe he really has changed!
Mela: Princess Ava says that we all deserve a second chance!
  • Kate telling Zull he can sit with her and her friends, even if he said they don't trust him.
  • Daniel's mother encouraging him to go on stage but to no avail. Eventually, Phoebe appears to encourage him further.
    • Much later when Kate and Magic return to the Big City, they watch a second take of the school play to see Daniel being more confident in his role.
Daniel's mother: It’s unbelievable how that puppy has helped my son build his confidence. He’s a real actor now.

    A Bad Fall
  • Though the fisherman who Kate asks about Ava was initially impolite towards her, insisting for her to see the red X sign next to him, once she tells her what she's actually there for, he becomes slightly more sincere when telling her that he hasn't seen her anywhere. Once Kate leaves, he smiles and says, "What a kid".
  • Kate says she and Magic seems as if they made no progress in finding Ava, but Magic reminds her of the dream she had episodes ago where Ava told her to not give up.
  • This brief lighthearted conversation between Kate and her father before they leave for lunch:
Peter: You haven’t already forgotten about the lunch with my boss, have you?
    Kate: Uh, sorry.
Peter: Oh, Kate. You’re so funny.
  • The boss of the travel agency telling Peter that Kate is one smart daughter of his, just like his own daughter Vanessa is.
  • Kate and Vanessa spending time feeding the horses in the stables.
    • The horses get startled when the wind slams the doors, and afterwards, Vanessa calms one down by brushing its coat. She assured Kate that they will calm down soon.
  • One of the ponies at Pony Pastures fails to jump the hurdle and falls over. Jenny helps him up and gives him encouraging words when he says he can't do it.
Jenny: You can do it. Everyone falls from time to time. The important thing is to get right back up and have another go.
  • Kate and Magic meeting Jenny, only to see that she already knows who they both are and knows what they did to fill in for Ava.
    Jenny: Hello, Kate. Hello, Magic.
    Kate: Hm?
Jenny: Don’t be surprised. Everyone in Pocket Kingdom knows about you two! We’re all very proud of you.
Kate: Thank you. I couldn’t help admiring the way you helped your friend there.
Jenny: Oh, I just do what I can to help.
  • Kate, Magic, and the Royal Guards (sans Danny, who trips and falls over) skating around on the Ice River.
  • As Jenny freaks out after she stepped in prickle grass, which irritated her hooves, Kate calms her down by brushing her coat. An act of not only bravery as she got close to a kicking horse but kindness as well.
  • Vanessa meeting Jenny for the first time. At first she's scared to get on her back, but Jenny makes her laugh by blowing air into her hair. Eventually, for the first time in a long time, Vanessa gets to go horseback riding with her new friend.

    Kate's Birthday
  • Wallace and Ava share some banter with each other as they take a walk around the amusement park.
  • Kate's mother Maria returns briefly to spend time with her over the weekend for her daughter's birthday, even bringing her a gift. But perhaps the best gift that Kate got was to spend time with her mother for the day.
  • Nearly the entirety of Kate having fun at the amusement park with her parents.
    • Kate gets ice cream for both her parents to enjoy.
    • Kate and her family have fun on the bumper cars and in the Tunnel of Love.
  • Ava and Wallace pass by a cotton candy stand and sit by it as Ava tells Wallace not to steal anything, even if it's just food. Wallace tells Ava there isn't a chance the vendor will give them anything from his stand… until he actually does. The vendor is very friendly to the two strays as he gives them cotton candy.
  • Kate convinces her father to take Wallace in because he's out cold. Immediately does he accept.

    The Puppybuster
  • As Kate looks at the unconscious Wallace, she thinks to herself that he must be a friend of Ava's. And she was right.
  • After a visit to the veterinarian, Wallace finally wakes up. At first Wallace is all confused but Kate and Magic assures him that he's safe. They eventually talk about Ava, where Kate and Magic reveal to Wallace that they have been looking for her too.
  • Kate is nice to the new student, Nicole, even though Nicole tells her that she has a jam-packed schedule and doesn't have time for a lot of things, even making friends. Kate tells her that she was also a new student and knows that it can be hard to make friends sometimes.
  • Slowpoke cares so much about her flowers and takes her time tending to them even if she moves slowly. Once she was told that she was chosen for Nicole, she says that she has to water her plants first so that they'll have water for the day until someone else will take her place. She even takes one flower to bring to the Big City.
  • Seeing both Slowpoke and the flower makes Nicole realize all the things she had missed because of herself constantly being in a hurry.

    White Paw
  • Alice loves reading books so much that she has even read several books in her home twice. Her father gives her adventure books to read so that she can see the world, as he doesn't have enough money for him and his daughter to travel.
  • Zull and Gort helping Mela get down from the tree. Although they did it because Eva told them to, this is yet another hint to a good side to the two of them.
  • When Juno is sent via the Friendship Ceremony, Alice's father finds her in the cardboard box with the books Alice was asking for, and he says that she will have a double present. Of course, when Alice finds Juno, her father agrees to keep her.
Alice: Thanks, Dad! We'll be inseparable adventurers together!

    White as a Ghost
  • Beatrix used to be very sick from an unspecified ailment, but she has gotten healthier. Though her mother still had trouble accepting it and continued to be overbearing towards her.
  • The appointments Doctor Copper had with various pets. From her telling a bloodhound to stay away from drafts so that his congestion will get better and showing a hen that her chick is healthy.
  • Doctor Copper is even willing to take care of Zull and Gort while they recover from an upset stomach, knowing that every pet in the kingdom deserves the best healthcare, even if they are delinquents like those two lackeys.
Copper: I’m very sorry, but I can’t abandon them like this, even if they are two troublemakers. It’s my duty.
Balloon: It’s true. Every pet has the right to proper care in Pocket Kingdom.
  • When the "ghosts" were revealed to be performing artist dogs Brad and George, they say that they were simply hired to put on a show for Kate and her friends, even if it's none other than Eva herself.
  • Beatrix jumps with Copper, which proves to her mother that she's not sick anymore.
Beatrix's mother: It’s been a long time since Beatrix has been so happy. My little girl has really been cured, and I can see that now, thanks to that little rabbit.

    Friendship is a Treasure
  • Kate finding Ava for the first time, promising to her that she'll get her out of the Pet Buster's prison of a home.
  • Ava tells Kate that Eva isn't truly evil, but jealous.
  • So many captured strays showed their support for Ava as they try to get Krakia to leave her alone.
  • This line from Magic as he and his friends get ready to give the Pet Buster his gold coins:
Magic: If we all had your kindness and courage, Katie. The world would be a better place.

    Sweet Dreams
  • The teacher is concerned about Francesca's well-being when she has a talk with her about herself falling asleep in class.
  • Doubling as a Funny Moment, the brief montage of Zull and Gort spending time at the Pet Resort. Even tough guys like them need a moment to relax.
  • Flipper herself. Although she's a little strange when it comes to her design, she has a big heart and treats her job as masseuse as something she enjoys.
    • The scene where Flipper gives a poodle a massage.
  • Flipper offering to give Kate and her friends a spa treatment at the Pet Resort, and the montage that follows after. Balloon and Mela spend time at a sauna and then at the thermal baths with Kate, and Magic exercising on a treadmill just before going into the room with the thermal baths and splashing into one of the pools.
  • Francesca's father runs a bath for her to relax in. This was where she meets Flipper, who gives her a massage.

    Good Manners
  • Bella talks to Scratch about being more polite to Nail instead of pushing him. Eventually the two cubs make up, with Nail licking Scratch's nose. Bella tells them it's better to be friends than enemies.
  • Bella explains that anyone can learn good manners as long as they're taught correctly.
  • Also doubling as a Funny Moment, Zull and Gort being polite to the female Rottweiler and pit bull duo during the exam, presenting them with jewelry and treating them like proper ladies. Eva isn't impressed at all.
  • With the help of Bella, Kate convinces Kevin that he should be more polite to her.
Kevin: Well, uh, actually, I am kind of sorry. This little dog, strange, but thanks to her I see now that I was wrong.
Kate: You know what they say: it’s better late than never.
    Kevin: I hope that now…
Kate: You and I could be friends?

    Operation 'Princess'
  • At the beginning of the episode, an unnamed cat is sent to a girl, who appears to be sad. She is affectionate with her, which cheers her up.
  • Kate and her friends meet Ava once again, promising her that she'll be free soon.
  • That brief moment in the flashback when Ava plays with a yarn ball outside the castle with Eva.
  • Magic and Wallace tell Ava that it isn't her fault that Eva was the way that she was.
  • Ava having a conversation with Krakia. Although they obviously show tension with each other, it's rather sweet to see them talking casually about Krakia being smart.
  • The strays being so happy that they're free from the Pet Buster's clutches.
  • Kate and her friends are terrified once they lock themselves in a storage room to get away from the Pet Buster, and have this conversation:
Ava: I’m sorry you fell into this trap while trying to save me.
    Magic: Don’t worry, Princess.
Wallace: Magic is right. We’re friends, and friends help each other out, whatever it takes.
Kate: One thing is for sure. You would have done the same for us.
Ava: You’re right, Kate. You’re right, friends. We’ll face this difficult situation together, and I know we’ll be just fine.
Magic: Yeah, we’ll show the Pet Buster.

In the Cove of the Cat
  • Kate and Magic meeting Maggie and her mother. Maggie immediately adores Magic and gives him a hug. Eventually Kate and Magic are shown by Maggie her room.
  • Leo managed to stop a quarrel between two monkeys over a misplaced ball by showing them a solution: to put their items in boxes so they'll know where to find them.
  • Kate shivers in fear while she and her friends walk in the Always Grey Swamp for the first time but Magic tells her that he'll protect her.
  • Danny offers to get a flower for Mela, even if that particular one unleashes a sleep-inducing vapor.
  • Once Leo is sent to Maggie, he shows her the bracelet she's been looking for and places it in a box, showing her to put important things in it so she'll find them.
  • Kate returns home with Magic to her father, where he tells her that he missed her so much that he decided she's no longer grounded.

    Finally Free!
  • Kate, Magic, and Wallace finally reunite with Princess Ava after Wallace sets her free for good.
Ava: You’ve defeated the Pet Buster without anybody’s help. It really is… incredible.
Kate: Well, we are a great team.
Magic: Yeah, with a great captain!
  • In the Italian dub, while Ava is hiding in Kate's bed when Kate's father comes in, she giggles!

    A Gift for Ava
  • Although Kate and Magic haven't gotten Ava back to Pocketville, the bright side is that at least she was safe from the Pet Buster, as said by Balloon.
  • As a chick runs out of tape for wrapping a present, Ribbon gives them more of theirs. Because of their generosity, this makes Ribbon the ideal pet for Lillia.
  • While Kate and her friends search for a Magic Drop in the Bottomless Cave, Holiday organizes a ballot for what gift to give to Ava upon her return.
  • As Kate and Magic slide deeper into the cave thanks to Eva's boobytrap, both of them assure to each other that they have each other, and they can get through the cave together.
  • After hearing the Friendship Song from a group of bats, Kate and Magic meet one of them, who helps both of them find their way out of the cave.
  • As Lillia refuses to share her snack with another student, Ribbon appears and gives one to the student. The student tells Lillia that she and Ribbon are very nice, where Lillia replies that nobody has ever told her that before.

    The Last Piece
  • Kate was even willing to spend the night in Pocketville because of how worried she was of Sketch being in the well. Keeping in mind of Evershell's words, she and Magic think about all the adventures they had and even thinking about having to give back the jewel to Ava.
  • Kate's wish, which the well had answered:
Kate: My greatest wish is for Princess Ava to come home to Pocketville, even though this would mean that I would have to give back my Friendship Heart, and no longer understand my puppy friends. I am ready. There’s nothing I want more than to see Ava come home to Pocketville.
  • As Lucas practices his routine, he sees Sketch doing the same thing as him. This motivates him to get back to performing with his father, where he says that the two of them can work well together.

    Together Forever!
  • Kate tells Ava she is worried about more problems with taking Ava back through a reversed form of the Friendship Ceremony, but Ava assures her that it will all be alright.
  • So many pets had showed up at the Magic Fountain to witness the return of their beloved monarch. From pets whom Kate and her friends had met briefly, such as the ducks from the prior episode “The Last Piece” as well as Holiday and his colleagues, to pets they’re more familiar with such as Koty and the Winged Guards.
  • Kate and Magic have a conversation about having to give the Friendship Heart back to Ava, which would make the former not understand the latter anymore. Both know that they will always be together no matter what, and Magic tells Kate that she had already understood him even though he just barked like a normal dog.
Magic: Because we know each other. I told you, Katie, we don’t need words to understand each other. Katie, I’m your puppy, and you’re my best friend. Even though you’ll give the Friendship Heart back to the princess, the bond between us will never be broken! I promise you.
    • Kate and Magic share a hug, and then include Peter, who was hoping for one as well.
  • The big surprise for Kate: Peter was not away for work, but instead to bring his wife and Kate’s mother, Maria, home. Kate assumes that her mother was going to spend time with her and her father again for a few days, but she tells her that she is there to stay for good as she got a transfer. Kate had been wishing to spend more time with her mother ever since she had to be away for weeks, and now her wish had been answered.
