  • When Maxine calls Franky "The Queen," she imitates the queen wave.
  • In "The Pink Dragon," Ferguson calls a raid and they bring in the dogs. One dog starts barking at Ferguson...she glares at it and it backs down.
  • Boomer and Doreen are often used for comical relief as well as serious storylines. Given the Crapsack World of Wentworth Prison, this is much needed and appreciated!
  • Drunken Liz is equally tragic and humorous.
  • Jacs's politically-incorrect insults for Franky, such as "clitty-licker" and "fanny-bandit".
  • Franky has a phone smuggled into the prison by Miss Miles. What does Boomer use it for? To call her boyfriend.
  • Bea, when Simmo asks her what she's doing in Jacs's old unit: "I live here now."
  • The everyday, matter-of-fact tone with which Liz informs Maxine that Jacs "is gone. Yeah, Bea killed her" is morbidly hilarious.
  • After Liz reveals she is the lagger, the entire unit goes silent for a good ten seconds. Cue Boomer: "You cunt."
  • Liz, after going all badass on a fellow crook at the halfway house, ends it with this gem: "And have a shower, for god's sake!"
  • Fletcher freaking out after Jess and Bea steal his swipe card is pretty damn funny, if not a little scary.
  • Doreen farting during her pregnancy exercises.
  • The scenes between Franky and Cindy-Lou's gang would probably be much more tense if it weren't for the language barrier.
Boomer: What the fuck did you just say?!
  • Franky in Joan's office after Vera presses charges for verbal abuse.
Joan: Do you have anything to say?
Franky: [Vera] had a sense of humour bypass. Beat Did you guys get the bulk deal?
  • Boomer trying to cope with life with bandaged hands is more funny than sad for most people.
    • Maxine even tries to help poor Boomer out by giving her a relaxing shower.
Maxine: Just pretend you're at a day spa with your boyfriend.
Boomer: Nah, my boyfriend dumped me so I wouldn't be at a day spa with him.
  • After getting shivved, Bea shrugs it off to Joan as: "Shit happens." Doubles as a Badass Boast.
  • Bea during her hallucinations in the yard in The Long Game.
  • Liz, annoyed for being forced to give up drinking, ranting at Boomer after one and a half seasons of abuse:
Liz: Don't you start with me. You are like a broken record, you know! Ooh, lagger! Bloody hell, you stole my brew! You messed up my hands! Oh, Franky! I didn't steal your frigging brew; you've been shoving it under my pillow! And you've already bashed my scone in for lagging, so we are even, alright?! So you can shut up! You fat-arsed baby!
Liz: (another Beat) You do. (puffs out her pockets to imiate a fat arse and walks away)
  • Vera delivering a goldfish to Joan, remaining completely professional the entire time despite the hilarity of the situation.
Vera: This came for you yesterday. (Beat) It's a fish.
    • The fact the fish was delivered a day late because Fletcher kept staring at said fish when he was supposed to be working at reception.
  • Shane describing "Aunt Joan" to Franky by stating she reminds him of "that chick from 101 Dalmatians."
  • It's certainly dark, but during the climax of Season 5's penultimate episode, Coup De Grace, Joan is tied to the basketball hoop and is in the subject of a self-admitted Kangaroo Court organised by Kaz and Franky. After a withering barage of accusations and insults, she responds with her own monologue that comes within inches of winning the women over to her side. But she simply can't control her towering narcissism and manages to fumble in a truly astonishing fashion by delivering a truly deranged combination Motive Rant and "The Reason You Suck" Speech to the previously sympathetic crowd, immediately and pointlessly turning them all against her. The humour comes from the fact that had she simply finished her speech halfway through she could almost certainly have avoided everything that happened afterwards.
  • In 7.02 "Payback," Liz expresses her wish to learn to dance the tango. In response, Boomer offers to teach her to "bum dance" (which she previously demonstrated back in 1.09 "To The Moon"). Despite Liz's protestations, Booms continues to do the dance in her face. Eventually Jake sees it and has to put a stop to it.
Jake: Jenkins! ARSE OUT OF BIRDSWORTH'S FACE!
    • And Boomer complies.....but only momentarily!
  • In that same episode we have Boomer's dreamy-eyes at Dr Miller and her unabashed, shameless attraction to him throughout, including repeatedly offering to take her clothes off for him and drawing dicks all over a personality test he gives her.
  • The "Liz's Bucket List" storyline gets a trifecta of Funny, Heartwarming, and Awesome when Boomer convinces Jake, of all people, to teach Liz to tango. The scene that precedes it, with Boomer and Liz fumbling in their attempts to learn the dance, is pretty funny on its own too.
  • It's definitely dark humour, in light of Liz's dementia, but when Boomer pays her a compliment we get
Boomer: Ah, don't let it go to your head.
Liz: Well, it ain't gonna stay there, is it?
  • Gavin furiously masturbating to provide the "payment" Boomer wants in exchange for providing content for his website.
  • The series finale closes with a gag reel spanning all nine of the show's years. It's pretty funny, and doubles as a nice way to include bygone characters like Bea, Franky, Kaz, Liz, Sonia, Jacs, Fletcher, and others in the farewell.
