Funny / Sonic and the Secret Rings

Go To

  • Sonic's face when he sees Shahra for the very first time. How many Chili Dogs can that there mouth hold?
  • What's the first thing Sonic wishes for when he's given a ring that can grant him as many wishes as he wants? A tissue, of course. After an amusing little cold-caused sneezing fit, that is.
Shahra: (in disbelief) Oh, please, someone tell me this isn't really happening?
  • During Sonic's first confrontation with Erazor Djinn:
Erazor: I am Erazor Djinn! I am the one who shall carve up this world as I see fit!
Sonic: Yeah, well, if you're gonna do that, can you at least wait until I'm done reading it, first?
  • Big's cameos in Secret Rings can be quite amusing, but the real funnies come with the diary pages you get for triggering them. Among the things he did while in the story book include attempting to fish in a desert and somehow holding a conversation with a skeleton who (according to Big) was once a colorful fish that could sing. Maybe the heat had gotten to him?
  • After falling off a bridge in Dinosaur Jungle, Sonic is forced to catch a ride on a passing log. Before long, Shahra pointedly asks Sonic if he even knows how to swim and Sonic noticeably refuses to answer.
  • After beating up a griffin in Levitated Ruins, it decides to make an escape through the skies but leaves behind a solid slipstream of light that's covered in Soul Pearls as he does so. Sonic takes the hint and cuts loose with Speed Break, chasing the griffin down along it's erratic flight path through the sky with the griffin doing more and more extreme stunts to try and shake him off, evil spirits trying to block his path (and failing miserably) and the giant flying monsters that the ruins are situated on saturating the air with spikes to try and snipe him. Sonic takes it all in stride but Shahra sounds like she's ready for the airsick bag by the end of it.
  • The scene where Knuckles— er, Sinbad introduces himself to Sonic:
Sinbad: (bombastically) I am Sinbad of the Seven Seas, adventurer of adventurers! (casually) Who the heck are you?
  • King Solomon's appearance after Erazor Djinn dealt with him. He's a disembodied skull that can only hop around and talk to people.
King Solomon: I am the great and powerful King Solomon!
Sonic: (grinning) If you say so…
  • The ending, where Sonic wishes for Erazor to be permanently imprisoned in his own lamp (after wishing for Shahra to come back to life then restoring the Arabian Nights). Not only is seeing Erazor painfully humiliated and getting his comeuppance hilariously awesome, but the genie is reduced to pathetically begging Shahra, who he had previously murdered, to stop him, then asking her for a second chance. The way Sonic sighs and shakes his head sells it — a nonverbal: "Dude, she's not taking you back. It's OVER."
    • Additionally, if you take this ending AND Sonic's wish of a mountain of handkerchiefs to Shahra so she can cry as much as she needs, both in and out of context, Sonic literally murdered a woman's boyfriend and told her to cry about it.
