Langa learning to skate... he gets better.
    open/close all folders

     General
  • The English dub just has so many hilarious lines.
  • The ending song for the show is a light-hearted tune showing all of the skater's bails that are both relatable and hilarious.
    • Miya slips and ends up sitting on his board. Shadow accidentally does the splits. Joe slips while grinding on some rails and is predictably crouched over at the bottom with the bail being called "Nutcracker". Cherry somehow caused Carla to fall into a nearby pond which he's crying over. Reki slips and lands on his face as he tries to Ollie. Langa attempts to go down the ramp, but doesn't follow through with the motion as he falls straight down. It's his deadpan expression that sells the moment.
    • In episode 11, Adam and Tadashi's ending card changes to Tadashi rushing out from the side of the screen to catch Adam bride-style, to which Adam seems unamused by.

     Episode 1
  • Reki's classmates find him messing around for skating ideas and when prompted, he excitedly asks if they wanna hear more. They immediately turn away to Reki's annoyance.
  • Langa's "introduction" to his classmates.
    Langa: I'm Langa Hasegawa.
    Teacher: ... Is that it?
Langa: Huh? (beat) I'm from Canada.
    Teacher: ... Is that it?
  • Langa attempted to apply for a job under Cherry who politely declines saying he doesn't allow minors to work for him. Later on when Langa show's Reki his forms for the interview... Cherry may have turned the kid down for an entirely different reason.
  • As Reki shows Langa his board and offers for him to try, Langa's first attempt leads to him falling onto his back and left stunned as Reki laughs.
  • Reki's boss trolling him by pretending the store was going under. When Reki shows genuine concern, he playfully sticks his tongue out as the teen realizes he was being played with.
  • Reki trying to hype up Langa about how cool "S" is, with the other ignoring Reki and trying to run away.
    • Even when explaining how the "beefs" work, Langa is more interested in Reki's bento.
  • As Shadow gets in Reki's face, Reki's temper starts to get the best of him, he starts asking for Langa to hand him the scissors in his tool box. Was Reki going to snip something?
  • Langa who's still an amateur at skateboarding, decides to give it a go, but not before taping his feet to the board so it was like snowboarding.
  • Reki tries to talk Langa out of the race but two of the security guards come, hook their arms under Reki's and walk him off the track so the race could start.
  • After Shadow gets a head start, everyone looks back to see Langa hadn't moved. Confused, Langa tries to make himself go forward with no luck. So he then hunches down... and starts scooting forward with his hands.
    • A Freeze-Frame Bonus shows just as Shadow takes off, Langa is of course still standing there with his knees bent.

     Episode 2
  • Or as this episode could probably be summarized as: Langa Fail Compilation.
  • Reki saying Langa was from America, and Langa has to sigh and correct Reki saying he's from Canada. Reki doesn't know the difference.
  • Reki teaching Langa how to skate some more, with Langa showing a bit more confidence. But he still doesn't know how to start and asks for Reki to push him.
  • As Langa is quickly heading towards the street with cars passing by, he attempts to stop his board like a snowboard. This obviously sends him flying face-first into the pavement, literally eating the gravel and rolling into the street. A truck then comes, causing Langa to starfish himself on the ground with his soul leaving his body.
  • Reki and Langa get caught by a teacher while they skate at school with Reki going ahead as Langa tries to catch up. Langa can now stand on the board, but he doesn't know how to turn as a wall comes up. He then attempts to get into "the zone" like he did during his race with Shadow... but he ends up pancaking against the wall with the teachers gleefully lifting up the unconscious Langa.
  • Cherry brought one of his clients to Joe's restaurant and the two act friendly until the client turns away to get a call. They then hiss at one another and start trying to stomp on each other's feet like kids, only to pretend nothing happened when the client turns back to look at them.
Cherry: I'm working right now, you dimwit.
    Joe: So am I, douche.
  • A girl is trying to scout out Langa since he caused up such a stir during his first race. She finds him and Reki practicing at the skate park and thinks he might be the same person. Then she sees Langa slip off of his board and fall on his face, causing her to believe that couldn't possibly be the same person and walks off.
  • Langa's mom notices the increased injuries on her son and worriedly asks how he got those injuries. He calmly replies he fell, but she hilariously takes it the wrong way and believes Langa is just covering up being bullied. He quickly clears it up with her that he fell from skateboarding.
  • Apparently for Langa's resume he took his picture when he still had injuries after practicing with Reki.
  • Langa tells Reki there's a lot going on around his house.
Reki: (exhausted) You mean you don't get harassed or embarrassed at your house?
  • Joe and Cherry's introduction in S. Cherry has Carla estimate the next turn and Joe tries to show off with a flip, and almost eat it. Cherry scoffs and calls him an idiot as he then asks Carla to give Joe a score, to which it calculates 65%. Joe calls him creepy for giving his machine AI a girl's name, which causes Cherry to lash out that his AI's name was Carla. The two then continue to skate down the track as they try to shove at one another all the way down.
    • The dub has Joe call out how creepy it is that Cherry named his AI and treats it like a normal person before yelling that it was because Cherry couldn't "get a real girl". When you start factoring in that everyone calls him "Cherry" and not "Cherry Blossom", it becomes even more hilarious.
  • The dub for Joe and Cherry's fangirls make them even come off as even thirstier as they scream about wanting to "Marry your abs", how one girl would "climb that cherry tree" and one girl yells at Joe "One cup of hot Joe, please".
  • For Langa's board, Reki sketches out a few realistic wolves, bears and stags and Langa looks excitedly at Reki's finished product. He puts a cartoonish yeti underneath his board which Langa is not amused by.
  • As he practices his ollie, Langa scrapes his hand and starts freaking out when he realizes he's drawn blood. Reki tries to get him to calm down, but he then passes out seconds later. There's just something so funny at seeing someone as stoic as Langa freaking out over scraping himself.

     Episode 3
  • Reki's Overly Long Name for Langa's board: Reki Royal Straight Prince Maru. Langa then asks who "Prince Maru" is, to which Reki responds that the girls at school call Langa "Prince".
  • As Reki and Langa are practicing in an empty garage, a security guard finds them and gives chase. Reki decides they should split and meet back up at the shop which Langa agrees to. However, the guard ends up chasing Langa while Reki cheerfully wishes his friend luck as he runs off in the opposite direction.
    • Langa making it back to Dope Sketch as he shakily reaches for the frame while exhaustedly calling out Reki for abandoning him.
Reki: Come on man, I don't speak grudge.
  • Miya's wager for the bet? Reki will become his dog. Langa immediately agrees, while Reki angrily jumps on him and shakes his friend asking why he wasn't letting him have any say in the wager, to which Langa doesn't react at all.
Reki: You think maybe you should ask me first before you create your human-pet trafficking ring?!
  • The fact that Shadow's car is in what could barely be described as a disguise since he just slapped tape over the shop's name, but the tulips are still visible.
  • Reki somehow getting into Shadow's car, leading the other trying to yell at him and tell him to get out. Reki then causes problems for Shadow for the rest of the race as he excitedly puts him in a head lock when he watches Langa, causing Shadow to swerve dangerously.
Reki: We gotta get ahead, old man!
    Shadow: I'm not old, I'M TWENTY-FRICKIN'-FOUR!!
  • Reki praising Langa for the race, and then switches his attention to the board which he squees over proudly. Langa sounds somewhat jealous as he mutters, "It doesn't skate itself."
  • The preview for the next episode has Cherry hurriedly asks Joe if he has a stretcher, because she's not responding. Joe starts panicking and asks if she'll be alright. Cherry then forgoes the stretcher and asks for Joe to get him a warm bed and a power outlet. Joe then bursts out in anger when he realizes Cherry was talking about Carla.

     Episode 4
  • Reki incredulously asking Langa why he agreed to Adam's wager of skating him if Reki loses his beef. The two continue to quietly argue with Reki conceding that Adam's mask looked kind of cool before a teacher slaps him on the head for not paying attention.
    • In the dub Reki asks in a snark tone if the idea of racing Adam "sparked joy" in Langa.
  • Reki gives what information he knows about Adam to Langa, describing him as an undefeated champion. This only seems to intrigue Langa more as his eyes sparkle excitedly.
Reki: That wasn't supposed to be a good thing.
  • Reki seeing Joe and calling him the "strongest-six pack skater". This leads to Joe putting Reki in a somewhat playful chokehold saying he was more than muscle as Reki screams uncle.
  • Joe leaving and offering to pay for Reki and Langa's meals. Reki looks down at the change and notes that it's nowhere near enough to cover their bill.
  • Miya sneaking up behind Reki to switch his soda with a protein drink. Reki ends up spitting out the protein drink in disgust.
  • The kids hopping into Shadow's car (without him noticing somehow) and he asks how the hell they knew his real identity. They all admit it wasn't that hard to figure out.
    • Then they all ask him to drive them to S.
    Reki: We're begging you!
    Langa: Please.
    Miya: I'll tell that woman.
(cut to Shadow angrily driving off with them)
    • Just the way Shadow's voice switches from his gravely skater voice to his high-pitched cheerful voice when his boss asks if everything was alright.
      • In the dub Reki asks Shadow to be the "dad" and drive them to crazy rock. This prompts Shadow to yell he's only 24 years old.
  • Reki attempts Miya's Railslide and bouncing off the ground.
  • After hearing about Adam's rumored ability to be able to skate uphill, Langa decides to try and give it a go. He wipes out precisely seconds after he tries.
  • At the restaurant Miya gets angry when Reki tries to feed him a burger claiming that it was going to ruin the diet he's been trying to keep as an athlete. Shadow makes fun of him for remaining tiny because he wasn't feeding himself while Langa sits in the back quietly eating.
    • Made even funnier in the dub.
Shadow: You think you're gonna grow without feeding your body?!
Miya: No human body should ingest five hamburgers!!
(Camera showing Langa with ten hamburgers and just ordered a serving of Super Poutine)
  • Cherry and Joe fighting over who gets the "right" to have their beef against Adam. Cherry then says they'll decide on the challenge being calligraphy, which Joe calls him out on since that was Cherry's field of expertise and not his. The argument then switches over to Joe complaining how this was like their school all over again with Cherry correcting him by saying they were an outdoor school.
  • Adam. Just... Adam. It doesn't help that you can tell his voice actors are absolutely chewing the hell out of the scenery for all it's worth.
  • The next episode preview has Adam going on about how he would be a good partner to Langa but will have to use bondage if he must. Langa languidly and politely replies to all of his advances without truly understanding them. Just after hearing Adam confess his "love" to him, Langa turns his attention to Reki as he thanks him for getting the groceries.

     Episode 5
  • Miya, Langa and Reki's trio dialogue at the hospital. Especially in Japanese, where it is easy to mix up Miya's mumbled dialogue by ear.
Miya: ...I guess I'll promote you to golem, or something.
    Reki: What'd you say?
Langa: He said he thought you looked cool.
Miya: I said nothing *cat hisses* like that! *huffs with small clouds of fury puffing from his head*
Langa: Huh? Japanese sure is difficult.
  • Reki having a PTSD nightmare of his race against Adam but this time it's Langa the one getting hurt. He wakes up screaming Langa's name... in the ''middle'' of class, with even Langa looking confused and embarrassed at why Reki's suddenly yelling his name.
  • In order to hopefully not have Langa get hurt, Reki begs Oka to convince Langa to wear some protective gear for his beef since Langa wouldn't listen to him.
Oka: This coming from the guy who doesn't listen to anyone?
    • Oka attempts to casually persuade Langa to wear some gear, only to fail when Langa calmly asks why he should be worried when he's fairly certain he's going to win.
  • Reki calling out Cherry's skate name out in public. While he's doing a live calligraphy exposition. He quickly takes care of it by "worriedly" claiming Reki must be suffering from a heatstroke and takes the teen far away from the crowd where he can scold him.
    Cherry: The rule of "S"...
Reki: (whimpering) "Once off the mountain, mum's the word."
Cherry: Are you trying to fight me? "Cherry Blossom" is my name reserved just for that place!
  • As Cherry takes the group to Joe's restaurant, Langa immediately asks if Joe could serve him poutine. Cherry then tells the group to sit wherever they like as if he owns the place, with Joe yelling at him for dropping by unannounced.
    • Then when Langa's stomach growls, Reki and Miya's stomachs soon follow suit.
Shadow: (slamming the counter with his hand) Four ramen bowls!
Joe: This is an Italian restaurant!
  • Cherry demonstrates to the group how Adam's "Love Hug" is done and skates really closely to Joe who's not amused by it.
Joe: Do you have to use me?
  • Langa prepares to skate against Adam who comes out with a red carpet and presents a bouquet of roses to Langa who politely accepts it. Reki and Miya's faces behind him are not the least bit amused or understand why Langa would just casually accept a token of "love" from Adam so easily.
Adam: A symbol of courtship. To you, to me, to us.
Langa: (blankly accepting the bouquet) Thanks.
Reki: (whispering) You don't have to accept it...
  • Adam saying "Squee" in the Japanese dub.
  • The next episode preview Joe is encouraging Reki to go talk to a girl, but then Reki realizes she has no legs, and Joe keeps going on how that doesn't matter as long as she's cute while Reki freaks out in the background over seeing the ghost.
  • Adam assisting himself around the corners of the race by grabbing the ankle of a random audience member.

     Episode 6
  • Welcome to the series Beach Episode and Hot Springs Episode. And most of the characters don't even get to go to the hot springs.
  • The English Dub has this gem.
Reki: Everyone knows hot springs are a Boomer thing.
  • Langa's idea of a good flirting line?
    Langa: Like, "Are you hungry?"
    Reki: She's not you.
  • Then as the girl seems to be approaching the group, Reki tries to talk to her, only for her to ignore him because she was talking on her phone. Shadow and Miya have a big laugh while Langa says in English, "Don't worry."
  • Why is Shadow tagging along with the boys? His boss didn't think it would be safe for the teens and a kid to go on a trip alone and asks him to watch over them as the adult. What sells it is Reki, Langa and Miya giving their best puppy dog eyes while Shadow is horrified stiff.
  • After boarding off the ship, the group immediately skate off, leaving Shadow behind to drive the car and carry their luggage for them. He stares at Langa who's the last one there, and the teen claps his hands in thanks before skating off with the others.
  • Miya asks why Cherry was carrying a parasol, and Joe says it was because Cherry didn't want to get a tan and how "delicate" he was. Miya then asks the question of why Joe is half naked, Cherry says it was because Joe thought girls would find him more attractive if he got a tan. The dub's line for this is even funnier:
Cherry: He's charring his chesticles for locals in heat. Such a thirsty gorilla.
    Joe: Who's thirsty?!
    • In the dub when Shadow drives up in the car he angrily yells, "I need an adult!" Before yelling at Joe or Cherry to drive in his stead.
Chery: Go ahead, you're the elder.
Joe: Nice try, but I'm not adulting today!
  • Reki's pranks at the beach. Playfully kicking Langa into the ocean, poking Shadow up the butt, and dropping a scoop of shaved ice down Miya's jacket, causing him to lose the level he was on. Miya gets him back by continuously hitting Reki with a beach ball.
  • Langa excitedly rushes to the ocean with a tube and languidly floats in the ocean. It then cuts to him sitting in the shade, apparently with heat stroke as Reki and Miya are fanning him to help him cool down.
  • When Shadow was about to stop Joe from flirting with girls, Reki tells him to stop because it would only make things worse. He even demonstrates it with Langa on what would occur if Shadow goes to Joe while he's with the girls.
Reki: Oh no! That guy is scary!
    Langa: (spaced out)
Reki: So scary! (with shaking Langa to realize the code)
Langa: (just realized the code) I'll protect you.
    • Miya who listens to the demonstration immediately goes to Joe and says "Papa" to him that makes the girls leave him thinking that's he already married, has kids, and was trying to cheat on his wife.
Joe: If you'd like how about some dinner together—
      Miya: Papa!
(Joe and the girls shock to the calling, Joe looks to Miya who was clinging to his leg)
Miya: Mama said if you don't get back soon, she'll kill you.
(cue to Miya pointing the direction of someone's legs, with Joe gazing at the legs. Only to find out the legs belong to Cherry)
Joe: (pissed off) What, it's just Kaoru?!
Girl 1: (whispering with Girl 2) "Papa"...
      Joe: (panics) I-It's a misunderstanding!
Miya: (with teary and innocent eyes, while hugging Joe) Please! Don't take Papa from me!
(Girls shocked and disgust, leave Joe immediately. With Miya smirking behind Joe's back while still hugging him)
Joe: Why the hell are you being so coy?! Hey, wait!
(cue to scene where the girls are already leaving, with Joe moping sadly)
      Joe: Signorine...
      Reki and Shadow: (happily) Alright!
    • In the dub when Shadow sees Joe flirting with some girls he immediately growls, "Damn his abs!"
  • Kiriko talks to Adam to let him know she's onto him, and he tries to win her over with a wink. Her expression is paused for a moment before she gets goosebumps and responds with disgust.
  • Cherry goes to a fancy inn which everyone else thinks is where they'll go for the night. But then see their actual accommodations which is a more run down in that Shadow got for 3000 yen.
  • Joe brings along everyone else, meaning Cherry's meals have been multiplied to accommodate all of them and Joe claims that Cherry will be "treating" everyone. Cherry is initially shocked that everyone was now coming to this inn before getting angry at Joe that he was the one paying for their meals as Joe smirks.
    • Shadow getting drunk on one cup of sake and leading him to believe Joe was his manager.
    • Miya asks what's great about alcohol and Reki teases him for being above it all while quietly reaching for Cherry's cup of sake. He doesn't look as he slaps Reki's hand away with his fan while Carla warns Reki that no underage drinking was allowed.
Reki: (nervously) Sorry, thought it was water.
  • Langa praying before using the toilet. In their first inn, he looks devastated at finding out it's an old Japanese toilet. When they switch to Cherry's inn, he prays again before opening the door and being relieved at finding a modern toilet.
  • As Reki sees Joe, he calls out to him. However, Joe was possibly hitting on one of the staff ladies who quickly leaves the scene once Reki appears. Joe really isn't getting any ladies today so long as the others are around.
  • Shadow comes charging back into room all decked out in his S persona and exclaiming he was gonna race them to make up for seeming like such a weakling while drunk. Everyone just ignores him.
  • Reki claiming he's not afraid of ghosts and they weren't in elementary school. Cue his entire frame shaking in fear.
    • Cherry then creeps him out by pretending to be a ghost and slowly counting their plates.
  • Reki being the only one trying to talk everyone else out of racing to the hot springs at night and being left in the dust as everyone else takes the competition very seriously.
  • Lost, Reki sees a figure in the shadows and goes over to ask for directions. He then freaks out when he realizes it's a statue and screams when he feels someone grab his shoulder. Turns out it's just Langa who came back for him.
  • This (from the dub):
    Langa: Reki, it's a cat.
    Reki: YOU'RE A CAT!
  • Shadow and Miya being covered the in the stinky mud. Miya even had time to draw his final message which was the face of the figure that got him.
    • Langa keeps trying to wonder aloud if this really was the work of ghosts, to which Reki pretends he can't hear him and starts loudly singing and covering his ears.
  • Cherry and Joe are the first two to make it to the hot spring but Cherry says he was the winner. How? The replay shows Carla extending her wheels so it reaches the finish line before Joe.
    Joe: You're such a cheapskate!!
  • Langa and Reki being chased by the mysterious figure, who they try to ditch by getting over the hill and skating downwards. Turns out the creature can skate too as it chases them.
    • They then try to lose it at a corner, but it easily keeps up.
    Langa: Wow! He's good!
Reki: He's trying to kill us!!
  • The creature poking at Reki's leg so he loses balance. It's just the nonchalant way it does it while Reki is freaking out.
  • Joe is apparently fond of haunted houses.
Joe: I'm into hot scared chicks grabbing onto me.
    Cherry: You're a disgusting pig.
    • Then when two muddy figures (probably Langa and Reki) appear, causing the two older men to hug each other and scream in terror.
  • In the next episode preview for the dub, Miya calls Cherry his "mommy" and asks for him to buy him a game. Cherry responds with an angry, "I am not your momma, boy!!"
    • What spurred on this conversation? Cherry calculating to Miya the cost of the hot-spring: 80,031. And it can be implied he wants Miya to cough up his part of the bill. Miya attempts to push into the adults since he's just a kid, but Cherry immediately shoots that down to say the adults have their own bills to worry about.

     Episode 7
  • Cherry and Joe arrive with the two already starting to fight with one another. Cherry calls for Carla who rams Joe's ankle, causing the other man to fall over in pain. Cherry then attempts to walk off, but not before Joe grabs his ankle and pulls him down with him as revenge.
  • The dub has this hilarious line from Adam as he announces the skating tournament.
Adam: We'll finally know who the real top is.
    • When Adam arrives via helicopter, Cherry in the dub lets out a sarcastic, "Oh, goodie".

     Episode 8
  • While the entire scene of Reki's attitude being totally out of character is heartbreaking, there's something hilarious in how his family reacts to it as if they just saw pigs fly.
  • Cherry and Joe once again getting into an argument, this time about Joe's instincts and how it's lead them astray in the past.
Cherry: I was a fool to ask.
Joe: When you lost your wallet during our social studies trip, I found it using my hunch!
Cherry: Though the restaurant in L.A. that we entered on your hunch was totally off!
Joe: The bar in Paris was good, wasn't it?
Cherry: I was the one who looked it up, dimwit!
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus, if you look at the board showing the skaters who entered the tournament, some of them put in some incredibly amusing skate names.
  • As Langa manages to outmaneuver the mooks Joe sighs saying he wouldn't need to help the youngster out. As one mook comes near Joe, he simply smashes his face in with the back of his fist.
  • Langa starting to glow expecting Reki's hand on his shoulder, then turning absolutely off when he turns and finds out it's Adam, is pretty funny when you don't expect it.
  • Langa asking for advice from his mother, admitting he made a mistake in hurting someone close to him and wants to make amends. As she gives him advice, she asks if he likes this person, which he blushes at, but doesn't deny. Langa's mom then cheerfully tells Langa he should apologize to his girl if he really likes her.
    Langa: "Her"?
    Langa's Mom: Huh?
    Langa: Huh?
  • The semi-finals showing all of the prominent characters up on the board. And someone named Harry.
  • Shadow ends up skating against Harry and beating him by using his laser pointer, with one of Shadow's fans yelling this after his win.
    "I'm fallin' for you, Daddy!"
  • Adam pulls out the cards for the contenders in the next match and the first card is Langa. He starts getting excited and hopes he gets to race Langa soon. As Adam pulls out the next card and stretches out the tension... and then gives a flat response of calling for Joe, clearly disappointed he won't be the one racing Langa. He's so disappointed he doesn't even hold Joe's card so his name is upright.
    • The dub has Adam give out a flat, "Whatever" after pulling Joe's card.
    • Also from the dub, "HEY BITCHES AND BROS AND NON-BINARY HOES!"
  • Langa and Joe's conversation before they start their race. Joe calls all of the skaters idiots and Langa asks if that meant him as well to which Joe replies with a "yes".
Joe: "S" is simply competing to see who is more of an idiot.
  • For the next episode preview, Adam starts coming onto Miya asking if he would like a lift in the air or a piggy back ride. Miya responds by asking if he can strangle Adam from there, to which the other is only delighted by.
    Adam: That's love!
    Miya: I made a mistake...

     Episode 9
  • Cherry nitpicking over every part of Joe's skill in the race to the point that even Shadow and Miya are getting a bit annoyed with him.
Shadow: Can someone find the mute button?
  • Joe runs over to Cherry who's about to race against Adam, clearly worried for the other. Cherry appreciates the concern but brushes him off, leading the two to bicker again.
Adam: How long is this skit of yours going to go on for?
  • The episode 10 preview has Miya and Shadow claiming they were going to be the main characters next episode, with Miya even having his own "Carla".
  • For the 9.5 episode there are some of these gems:
    • Miya clawing at Shadow when the other annoyed him.
    • For episode 6, Reki claims that towards the end Joe actually did pick Cherry up and toss him into the water. Cherry was so mad he got back at Joe by writing insults on his aloha shirt.
    • How does this episode end? Shadow asking "Carla" to play them some relaxing music as it shows Cherry pretending to be a "ghost" during the beach episode and Miya screaming at Shadow to stop.

     Episode 10
  • Reki wakes up in a love hotel and screams at two separate occasions as he tries to reorient himself with what was happening. Tadashi's deadpan response doesn't help in calming the teen down at all.
    • The fact that he tries to pay Reki off. While it's so Reki won't cause him troubles for being hit by his car, it can almost come off as if he's trying to cover up a love affair by paying Reki off.
    • Also while Reki was unconscious Tadashi for some reason decided to spin the bed while he waited for Reki to wake up.
  • The dub line where Tadashi is trying to convince Reki to pursue something else besides skating.
Tadashi: Maybe see if you find something else you enjoy?
Reki: Maybe someway you can shut up?
  • Once Tadashi leaves, Reki pauses for a moment before worriedly and loudly wondering if he was supposed to pay for the room or return the key and quickly follows Tadashi out.
  • Adam calling Tadashi asking about Shadow's condition. In the dub he sounds exceptionally annoyed at having to find a substitute.
Adam: (disappointed) Awww... I suppose I'll have to substitute with Joey, or Miya, God help me.
  • A mixture of funny and heartwarming, but as Reki and Langa skate with each other, they end up colliding with one another.

     Episode 11
  • Tadashi comes to the store to deliver Adam's invitation for their beef. When Reki recognizes Tadashi as "that guy from the love hotel" the store manager and Langa both look at him incredulously and Reki has to quickly and embarrassingly explain what had happened.
Langa: What kind of a place is that?
Reki: Are you seriously that innocent?!
  • Tadashi gives Reki Adam's invitation which addresses Reki as the "Third Wheel". Langa and Reki immediately misconstrue the message and go off on a tangent about how something would work with three wheels.
  • Miya worrying over Reki's race against Adam. The others... aren't as concerned as he is.
    • Joe in the dub lightly jokes that Reki's gonna race no matter what and is gonna get his ass kicked.
    • Shadow continues angrily raising his voice in annoyance that Reki is still going up against Adam despite what happened to him last time. Cherry snarks it's likely because Reki is just an idiot. Every time Shadow raises his voice, he quickly apologizes to the other people around him who stare at him each time.
  • Reki shows Langa one of the wheels he made that is covered in spikes. Langa excitedly asks if it actually works, to which Reki dejectedly replies, "no".
  • In the dub, Cherry ensures Reki they'll be waiting for him at the finish line, and then asks for Joe to push him.
Joe: Yes, princess. What, you fire Carla or something?
    • Shadow loudly cheering for Reki in the hospital as Carla projects the feed onto his wall. This causes the nurses to go up to Shadow's room and ask if everything's okay.
  • During the race, Joe refers to "the technique that defeated Cherry!" in awe as Adam is about to pull it off against someone again...except said "technique" is simply getting ahead, hopping off your board, picking it up, running at top speed and cracking your opponent across the face with it. Or, as one tumblr user put it, "ah yes, the famous skating technique of AGGRAVATED ASSAULT."
  • Adam slipping and eating mud when he fails to hit Reki with his board is bound to get many viewers laughing at this karmic payback.
  • As the others are cheering for Reki for a good race, their expressions immediately turn from cheery to disgust as Adam starts stalking towards them. It's the fact this change happens over a split-second that makes it so funny.

     Episode 12
  • Langa teasing Reki by telling him he actually switched out the board again, even laughing when the other gets confused for a moment.
  • The final shots of the cast:
    • During Langa's celebration party at the roof of the skate store, Cherry is glaring at the manager's pet who's sleeping on Carla while Miya stops him from taking any further action. In the middle of their party, Adam drops from the sky with a bouquet of roses in hand. Everyone immediately gets out of the way except for Langa who stares up in horror but still taking a bite of his sandwich just as Adam crash lands.
    • Shadow finally builds up the courage to ask his manager out for a date. Then it turns out she already has a boyfriend, leading him to crying during his next race.
    • Joe is on a date with two ladies and they see a line for signing's so they go to get one. The two of them except Joe are thrilled, who realizes the signing is from Cherry, who wrote, "To Little Kojiro: Dimwit". Joe then attempts to pick a fight while Cherry nonchalantly takes his brush and draws over Joe's face.

Extras

     Eye-Catches
  • Langa practicing skating with Reki. Like their first meeting, he has Reki lie down as he attempts to Ollie over him. When he fails the first time, he then tries to do it with the help of a slide. He instead falls on top of Reki and hits both of their heads together.
  • Reki starting a playful match to see who can land further than him.
    • Langa catapults into the air and does multiple spins... only to land like a gymnast at the end, which wasn't what he was supposed to do.
    • Shadow attempts a jump, but suddenly stops short to everyone's confusion. He then mourns that he actually tore his pants, which Reki faceplants over.
    • Miya jumping farther than the three of them and waving it in their faces. It's really amusing to see Langa get angrily fired up over something like this.
    • Joe sets a new record and takes a photo with a group of his fangirls. Shadow and Reki are envious while Miya is acting like a cat and Langa doesn't seem that interested in what's going on.
    • Then there's Cherry who jumps and Carla sprouts out mechanical wings. He happily soars off into the sky with Joe cheerfully waving while the others look flabbergasted.
  • Shadow becoming his skate persona akin to Sailor Moon. Unfortunately, he only has the makeup on and is left in his underwear which he gets embarrassed over.
  • Joe giving Cherry some pasta and while Cherry happily slurps it up, Joe had apparently laced it with thirty chilies. When Cherry doesn't show any reaction after finishing, Joe gets confused. Cherry then breathes a huge flame at his face and politely wipes his mouth as a charred Joe is recovering.
  • Adam making an appearance and attempts to hug Langa who dodges nonchalantly. He then continues to do flips on the half-pipe with heart eyes while Langa and Reki watch, being reminded of a hamster running in a wheel.

     Cindereki
  • Adam narrating the entire story.
  • Reki is the titular "Cindereki". Cherry is the stepsister while Miya is somehow also the older stepsister and Shadow is the stepmother. Joe also happens to be the fairy god mother.
  • Miya and Cherry fight over who's the prettiest of the two, with Shadow trying to break them up by saying they're both beautiful since they get their looks from him.
    Miya: We look... like you?
Cherry: No way! We should be grateful to our dead father.
    Miya: Yeah.
    Shadow: What does that mean?!
  • When Joe the fairy godmother comes to Reki, saying that he was just passing by even though he actually came to encourage and help Reki. He immediately asks what did Reki thinks he is? Reki said he don't know. Which lead him to this conversation:
Joe: Look at this heavily forged muscles, you don't know?
    Reki: Umm... a soldier?
    Joe: No!
    Reki: Then... a knight?
Joe: Look harder! Look how strong I am!
Reki: I know! A martial artist!
    Joe: I'm a magician.
Reki: That has nothing to do with your muscles!
    • How does Joe grant Reki's wish? By doing squats. Yes, it's as ridiculous as it sounds that even Cindereki points it out.
  • The ball soon turning into a brawl as everyone there is trying to catch Langa. From cat fights breaking out, to Shadow tossing out bombs when a girl insults her looks to Cherry dropping caltrops on their own mother. Cindereki walks into this madness with Tadashi calmly explaining that whoever caught the prince could marry him.
  • Langa's introduction is similar to the first episode where he says his name and where he's from, and leaves it at that. Tadashi sounds both confused and exhausted at trying to get the prince to talk more.
  • Cindereki and Prince Langa's Meet Cute. Crashing into one another because Cindereki couldn't stop her board.
  • Langa being prince charming and when he first meets Reki, he says "So beautiful". Reki thinks he's referring to him and blushes, only to realize moments later that Langa was referring to his glass skateboard.
  • Miya coming to the conclusion she's too young to get married but teases Cherry saying she's already getting too old to marry. Cherry attacks her with calligraphy.
    • Cherry's other phrases: karmic retribution, false advertising, survival of the fittest, yakiniku meat set, slash-and-burn, pesticide vegetables.
Reki: There's a lot of unrelated things in there too.
Miya: That's just how angry she is.
  • One of Prince Langa's way of trying to identify Cindereki when asked for a description?
Langa: She had a weird face.
Tadashi: Prince, watch how you speak.
Langa: She had a unique face.
  • As Langa arrives at the home Shadow claims they were the ones who skated with Langa.
Tadashi: She does... have a weird face.
    • Cherry immediately attempts to convince Langa that they were the one who skated with the prince. Joe then appears to put an end to it and the two predictably start bickering. Cherry yells at Joe for taking the beans they were using to mark a path back home while Joe yells that Cherry put lizards in his magic pot. Cherry asks why it mattered since Joe was a magician and Joe yells that it was a stew pot.
      • Joe also seemed to have turned other guys away from Cherry in the past when they were trying to find a husband.
  • While Adam narrates the story ended with a happily ever after, he then suddenly becomes affronted that Langa and Reki get together and refuses to accept this ending. He then enters the story himself to steal away Langa.
    • Also the part where Adam shows up he immediately called Tadashi "dog" and puts a collar on him, which makes him says "Woof" and follow his command. His command was to bring Langa to him. And Langa reaction after being brought to Adam was:
      Langa: Wahhh! I'm spinning!
  • The whole event of "Cindereki" was actually a dream of Reki after reading bedtime stories to his younger sisters.

     SK 8 Chill Out!
  • Trick 1 shows an introduction of S the way Langa saw it and says nothing to his mother when she asks.
  • As Langa tells Reki about how he was looking for a job, he had apparently decided to try some big eater challenges. However, because he finished everything so fast and so many times, he ended up getting banned in the end.
  • Miya's wager is that he'll be Langa's cat or dog while Reki will become Miya's "dog" if he wins. Langa thinks about this for a moment, seeing Miya as a cat while Reki as a dog. He sees no difference and agrees.
  • Cherry and Joe constantly fighting with one another. Even over Jenga.
  • Shadow recognizes the bouquet of roses Adam offers to Langa before their race. Shadow apparently handed it over to Tadashi who was the one who ordered them.
  • Cherry using Carla a lot would be an understatement. He also uses her to help his finances, checking the temperature of the bath water, as his alarm and much more as Joe begs for Cherry to stop using Carla so much. Cherry goes into a rage and claims he and Carla are a packaged deal.
  • Adam constantly making Tadashi redo his invitation over and over again until the finished product looks akin to a virus page.
  • Before Adam and Cherry race Joe comes up worried over Cherry but calls him "Kaoru". They obviously start getting into a fight leading Adam to pull out a cigarette to pass the time. And then another. By the time he gets to his third cigarette he's grumpily thinking, "This is why I didn't want to do this" as Cherry and Joe are still fighting in the background.
  • The tailor who Adam commissions his Grim Reaper outfit from intentionally made the most outlandish thing he could think of in hopes Adam would turn him away. Turns out he approved it so now he had to make it.
  • The manga even does the Cindereki story where instead of wishing for a carriage, Cindereki just decides to make her own skateboard which Joe hesitantly grants. She and the prince get a happily ever after.
    • Prince Langa's introduction is even more detached than his other ones as he quietly goes over what will happen at the ball and quickly tries to wrap everything thing up in one speech to send everyone else home.
Langa: Please take care on your way home-
Tadashi: Prince Langa. You can't just end it and go home because it's annoying.

Other

  • Jonah Scott reading thirst tweets and admitting he did some research on Joe beforehand. He noticed along with others that Joe's comment section on his wiki page had to be nuked because everyone was thirst-typing about him.
Jonah: All the comments were talking about his titties. You guys didn't even see his titties! (beat) Not yet. There was promotional images out and you were already thirsting for this guy! I'm not mad. I'm actually kind of impressed.
