- The opening narration makes a Call-Back to the third Mini Wars episode in its style:OverSimplified: Ancient China. The sun is shining. The birds are singing. The children are playing in the village square.
Villager #1: What a wonderful time to be alive!
Villager #2: Hey, the Yellow River flooded again and destroyed all your crops. Aaaand also we're being raided by nomadic tribesmen. Aaaand also this period of Chinese history may be entirely mythical, meaning you might not even exist.
Villager #1: Well, that would certainly explain the lazer eyes.
(The pair look up to see The Emperor flying through the sky firing eye beams everywhere)- The return of the Rickroll birds, this time in Chinese.
- Later in the video, the lyrics to "Never Gonna Give You Up" by "Rick Ashley" can be seen again on a pair of fai chun in the background.
- The return of the Rickroll birds, this time in Chinese.
- At one point during the mythical Xia Dynasty, a corrupt emperor made a lake of alcohol for personal use.
- A Running Gag is that The Emperor is about to have a Pet the Dog moment with his young son... only to suddenly die anti-climactically via heart attack or stroke while yelling how they died.
- When the, self-proclaimed, Taoist wizard, Zhang Jue, gives a Rousing Speech to his Yellow Turban Rebellion followers he ends with it something that probably didn't happen (along with him wearing a magician's top hat) but definitely would have won them over.Zhang Jue: You know whose fault it is that we're all out here starving? It's The Emperor and his posse! They've lost their Mandate from Heaven! And the Imperial Family must be DESTROYED with an UNRELENTING FURIOUS WRATH! ... Also check this out! (Pulls out a balloon and starts twisting it}) Eh? Can you tell what it is yet? (Creates a balloon animal) Its a little kitty-cat. [Beat] Look at her little ears.
- In the depiction of the Yellow Turban, one of them stands out by wearing a modern-day high-visibility vest and wielding a loaf of French bread as a weapon in their place.
- The young emperor's mother tells her brother that they can't just murder the eunuchs as they're a vital part of their government system... at least that's what they pay her to say.
- Alois Hitler (Adolf Hitler's dad) makes a cameo in the episode to spank some eunuch in the ass.
- As the war breaks out with the Yellow Turban Rebellion, the narrator lists all the Chinese warlords that took part, like Cao Cao and Dong Zhou, while mentioning he's probably not pronouncing their names correctly.
- Every time that the narrator mentions Dong Zhou, there's a mention of how he's a tyrant, a synonym for being fat, or both.
- When Dong Zhou arrived at the capital city with his own army, while there is a riot of peasants right after the imperial forces stormed the place and killed the eunuchs and he rescues the royal family, a takes a few seconds for him to grasp the situation and how that's good for him.Dong Zhuo: Hey guys, what's up? I see the capital is on fire. Also, I am here with my army and I have The Emperor with me.
[Beat]
Dong Zhuo: Waaaaaaaaait a minute! The capital is on fire. I am here with my army and I have The Emperor! Screw you guys! I am in charge! - Dong Zhuo's list of rule breaking as The Man Behind the Man has someone gasping when mentioned, even the ones that in modern times wouldn't be a big deal, like wearing shoes (he's wearing crocs in the video) indoors and just walking normally in front of The Emperor, instead of trotting like you're supposed to.
- "It's Lu Bu!"
- Not after Dong Zhuo claims Lu Bu, The Dragon, would never betray him for stealing his girlfriend from him, even though betrayal is well-known to be pretty much his personal hobby as pointed out by one of his men. Said guy literally stabs him In the Back almost immediately after saying that. His Major Injury Underreaction to his fatal wound just adds to the humor.Dong Zhuo: Lu Bu? Betray me? No way, man. Never gonna happen–"(Lu Bu runs him through from behind with a spear)Dong Zhuo: (Looks down) Aw crap...
- After Dong Zhuo is assassinated by Lu Bu and his men, his corpse is set a light with myths stating his fat oily body kept burning for days. The cherry on top is a guy roasting marshmallows on his burning carcass like a campfire.
- After Lu Bu gets captured by Cao Cao, his habit of betraying anyone came back to bite him, when he rejected his offer to switch sides for being too untrustworthy to work with and decides to have him executed instead. Its summed up best with this quote.Cao Cao's Advisor: This guy has literally betrayed everyone he's ever worked for!
