  • In the omake that shows how girls at Toomi East put on their uniform, Yuu asks about why Koyomi doesn't wear the ribbon, something that could get her in trouble. Koyomi casually says the ribbon is cute and she doesn't like cute things. Akari is a bit confused about this, since Koyomi was fine with getting a stuffed animal as a gift, but Koyomi says that it's fine, since the stuffed animal wasn't cute, much to Akari's dismay.
  • In Chapter 6, Touko comes to Yuu's class and loudly calls out to her, much to her embarrassment.
Yuu: Your sense of what's appropriate is so weird. What if people misunderstand what kind of relationship we have? What will people think of their beloved Nanami-senpai, then?
Touko: I feel like... that wouldn't be a "misunderstanding."
    Yuu: Uh, yes it would!
  • In Chapter 7, Touko tries to bribe Yuu into going along with the play idea by using sweets.
  • In an extra chapter, Touko goes to Yuu's family's bookstore (which is somewhat out of the way for her) and buys a book that turns out to have a lesbian couple and explicit sex scenes. Yuu assumes this is an elaborate trick to get a reaction out of her, so she rings Touko up without saying anything about it. It turns out that Touko didn't have any idea what was in the book, and just wanted to buy something while Yuu was working.
  • In the Volume 2 extra, Sayaka serves coffee to Touko and an older girl on the student council, and clearly remembers how they like theirs. When she gets to the president, however, she has to ask what he wants despite him apparently having a regular order, and Touko notes that she doesn't care about the president enough to remember something like that.
  • In Chapter 14, Sayaka and Yuu, who are having trouble passing the baton, end up having to work out their issues with each other, which are caused by Sayaka's unspoken jealousy of Yuu's closeness with Touko. After finally achieving an understanding and successfully executing the baton pass, Touko's two closest friends show how they're getting along better... by complaining to each other about how fixated Touko is on winning the competition.
  • There's also the illustration on the page after Chapter 14, in which Touko, Wreathed in Flames, strikes the ground with a bamboo practice sword while staring down Yuu and Sayaka, who are frightened. It's both hilariously out of character for her and fitting with how driven she is to win the competition.
  • In the Interlude in which Touko meets Yuu's two kouhai, Touko ends up unwittingly insulting Yuu by pointing out how short she is, even though Touko finds it cute. In response, Yuu's kouhai then point out that Yuu is reliable... despite being short. Touko, realizing that Yuu responds well to being called "cool," actually makes a mental note of that for future reference.
  • After the sports festival, Riko gets a text message from Miyako mocking her as "Ms. Last Place," and is suitably annoyed.
  • In Chapter 18, Doujima, after hearing that Sayaka will play Touko's character's lover in the play, is surprised at the idea of two women going out with each other. Not only did he apparently not read the script, as Maki mentally notes, but on a meta level, he apparently has no idea what kind of manga he's in.
  • Immediately after getting over his surprise, Doujima quickly embraces the lesbian couple, and asks if they kiss. Koyomi flatly says there isn't one, and when Doujima asks her to add one, Sayaka (who would be kissing Touko in that case) forcefully insists that the play doesn't need one.
  • In Chapter 21, Doujima, once again missing the mark about who's in a relationship with whom, mistakenly assumes that Riko and Ichigaya are dating... and gets very disappointed when Ichigaya sets him straight. Meanwhile, Yuu seems a bit annoyed at the guys' immaturity, while Sayaka, who knows the truth about Riko, feels a bit awkward.
  • The 4koma at the end of Volume 4 takes place in the guys' room at training camp, where Doujima and Maki wonder what the girls are up to. Doujima imagines them having fun and making girl talk, while Maki imagines a Love Triangle, neither of which is entirely true.
  • In the Volume 5 omake:
    • Yuu considers putting the charm she got from Touko on her cell phone or bag but worries about what will happen if Touko does the same. Yuu then tries to convince herself that it won't be a big deal if anyone notices, but then imagines Sayaka asking her about having the same charm as Touko and then thinks "On second thought... Yikes!"
    • Yuu then considers putting it on her house key. At that point, Rei barges in, asking for Yuu's key, thus leading Yuu to deadpan "Or not...!"
  • In Chapter 27, Yuu and Doujima happen upon a crying Akari. After buying a drink for Akari, Doujima suggests that maybe he should leave and let Yuu handle this, only for Yuu to protest that she doesn't know what to do, either. They then start bickering over whether girls are better at this sort of thing until Akari giggles and lets them know she can hear them.
  • In Chapter 30, it's shown that apparently, many people In-Universe ship Touko and Sayaka, as the scene in which Touko's character gets a visit from Sayaka's character (her lover) causes an uproar in the crowd. Sayaka is not amused.
Doujima: The audience sure loved the girlfriend part!
    Sayaka: Hush, you...
  • In Chapter 31, after Touko's character insists that she's fine, while playing with her hair, Yuu's character karate chops her on the head and bluntly calls her a liar.
  • After the play ends, Touko has an Oh, Crap! moment when she realizes that in her meticulous planning for the play, she forgot to make a plan for removing the props, prompting Sayaka to chide her.
  • In Chapter 32, Touko celebrates the success of the play with the rest of the student council and some of her other friends. Some of the latter have some fun at her expense when, after Yuu vigorously opposes putting on the recording of the school play, Touko laughs at Yuu.
Manaka: You can laugh, Touko, but the part with you crying at the end is on there too.
Touko: What?! Why didn't you cut that part out?
Manaka: Why would I? It's the first time I've ever seen you cry!
Midori: I saw you say something to her, Koito-chan. What was it?
Manaka: Huh? You made her cry, Koito-chan? Nice! (flashes thumbs up)
    Yuu: (sheepishly) T-Thank you...?
    Touko: You're horrible!
  • Chapter 36,
    • Touko's friends notice that she's feeling down, and while Touko's not willing to talk about it, she does ask them to cheer her up if she doesn't get better. Manaka throws her arms around her and tells her to stay down so that she can cheer Touko up, prompting Midori to ask, "Are you worried about her or not?"
    • When Sayaka meets up with Miyako, Miyako can't help but laugh at Sayaka being cast as Touko's character's girlfriends, and notices immediately that Touko is the one Sayaka loves, even though Sayaka never told Miyako.
    • After Riko catches Miyako with Sayaka, she demands an explanation, and when Sayaka tries to cover for Miyako, Riko insists that she stand there so she can get scolded next, prompting Sayaka to sheepishly say "Yes, ma'am." As Riko gives Miyako an earful for spilling the beans about their relationship, Sayaka can't help but laugh, much to Riko's embarrassment.
  • Chapter 37, despite building up to Sayaka's confession, has comic relief from Midori and Manaka
    • While the four are at a sweets shop, they make sweets with dough and bean paste. Touko and Sayaka do quite well, while Manaka ends up making a failure that drips bean paste. She tries to offer it to Midori, who bluntly refuses.
    • When Midori and Manaka attempt the Love Fortune Stone challenge, Manaka hangs onto Midori's shoulder.
  • A Volume 7 bonus comic has Touko, following Manaka's example, eating some deer crackers.
  • The cast's academic statistics at the end of Volume 7 have some amusing results. Manaka, who comes off as a ditzy comic relief, has the fourth best grades behind Touko, Sayaka and Maki. Meanwhile, Akari, who's by far the worst student, is said to be "decent at biology".
  • While Chapter 40 is mostly heartwarming, there's a funny moment when Touko lists Yuu's sensitivity about her height as one of the things Touko loves about her.
  • In chapter 42, Sayaka's reaction to beating Touko in the final exams is to fist pump with a completely emotionless face. Touko goes the opposite and gives out a Big "NO!".
  • The final chapter has the hilariously awkward moment when Yuu realizes Sayaka never told Touko about getting a girlfriend.
  • The Bloom Into You Anthology has a few very silly stories:
    • "Will I ever Bloom Into You?" has Yuu and Touko switching clothes so they can pretend to be each other, despite Yuu noting that they could just switch ribbons. Unsurprisingly, the larger Touko's clothes fit very loosely on Yuu's frame. After noting this, she goes to check up on Touko, and finds that Touko can't button her top up all the way. One rather unamused eyedscreen later, and she's demanding that Touko buy her cheesecake.
    • "Free-floating Maidens" takes the idea of Love Floats and applies it to Yuu's reading a book, based on a line from the first volume of the series. Specifically, Touko walks in on Yuu reading a booknote  and literally floating a few inches off the ground, which it quickly becomes apparent that Yuu is oblivious to. Cue a few stock lines from a romance manga, like "What if Yuu goes someplace I can't (physically) reach her?" while Yuu remains oblivious to her floating. Eventually Touko joins her in reading the manga, just in time for poor Sayaka to walk in and see both of them floating together.
    • "Let's Play Cards With Senpai" is probably the silliest of the bunch. To start, Touko finds a maid uniform and tries to get Yuu to wear it. Yuu refuses and Touko comes up with an idea: a card game. Loser has to wear the maid outfit. Sayaka is initially opposed until Touko says that if she loses, she will happily wear it, at which point she joins in. They play Old Maid, and Touko, while trying to deny that she has the joker, shakes so violently that her chair start clacking against the floor. After Yuu tricks Sayaka and wins, Sayaka and Touko finish the game to see who wears the outfit. When Sayaka beats Touko, she says it was because her intuition is Saeki-nd to none. You may groan now. As to the maid uniform, well, in spite of Sayaka's obvious wishes, Touko never gets the chance to wear it as Maki walks in and asks for it since his class was doing a maid cafe, and they needed it. The girls then try to act natural and the story ends.
