Triple Dog is a 2010 Canadian teen drama thriller film directed by Pascal Franchot, and stars Britt Robertson, Alexia Fast, Scout Taylor-Compton, Janel Parrish and Emily Tennant.

The story follows a group of teenage girls on the night of a sleep over, where they all venture out in a competitive game of challenging dares. As the dares escalate, and the dares become more extreme, the girls unravel the truth behind a former student's rumored suicide.


This film provides examples of:

  • Coming of Age Story: Most of the characters start stepping out of their comfort zone, while also growing closer together as a friend group.
  • Excrement Statement: Cecily's dare is to pee in front of principle Scalco's front door. Cecily ends up going through with the dare and ends up pissing on his doormat.
  • Fake Video Camera View: One of the rules for Triple Dog is that every dare must be recorded.
  • Freak Out: Throughout the movie Eve waits for her dad to call her on her birthday. Eve eventually stops waiting for him to call and instead taking initiative and calling him. He ends up yelling at her for calling so late, showing some Parental Neglect. After hanging up, Eve literally screams out of anger and frustration.
  • Microwave Misuse: Chapin's dare is to steal a penthouse magazine from a convince store. Chapin ends up exploding a can of beans in the convince store microwave to create a distraction while she runs away with the magazine.
  • Naked Freak-Out: During her dare, Sarah is caught streaking by a car full of boys, causing her to scream out of embarrassment.
  • Never Suicide: The subplot of the movie revolves around former student Stacy St. Clair's rumored suicide. It is revealed at the end of the movie that Chapin had dared Stacy to jump off The Jogger Bridge, which results in her drowning in the river.
  • No Antagonist: No real antagonist in the movie.
  • Peer Pressure Makes You Evil: Most of the peer pressuring comes from Chapin Wright (Britt Robertson), who often peer pressures the other girls to complete their challenging dares.
  • Scare Dare: The plot centers around a group of teenage girls who all play an extreme game of truth or dare (just without the truth part). The movie features a bunch of challenging dares, ranging from public urination, stealing, and streaking.
  • Slumber Party: The beginning of the film shows Eve (Alexia Fast) and her friends all staying the night at her house for her 16th birthday.
  • Streaking: Sarah is dared by Liza to go streaking down the block. Sarah is eventually caught by Eve's neighbor and a car full of boys.
  • Teacher/Student Romance: Cecily has a crush on her high school principal, Mr. Scalco.
  • Token Religious Teammate: Sarah (Emily Tennant) is seen as the Christian/religious girl of the group.
  • Virgin-Shaming: Chapin mocks Sarah for being a virgin by giving her a box of condoms.
  • Wild Teen Party: The latter half of the film has all six girls going to a party.
