"Come in, come in, a voice calls out... Hākabāka welcomes you..."

Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger: Adventure Heaven is the annual summer movie for Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger, double-billed with Kamen Rider Geats: 4 Aces and the Black Fox.

On the day of Gira's coronation ceremony, a woman named Devonica appears, claiming to be an emissary from the Land of the Dead, Hākabāka. She tells Gira that he must visit his ancestors and learn Shugoddam's true history before becoming king, inviting him and the rest to the team to Hākabāka. There, he comes face-to-face with Reiniol, the Founder King of Shugoddam and the current king of Hākabāka, who discloses the full history of Tikyū to Gira in private. He then demands that Gira give up the right to the throne, coming to blows with the yet-to-be king...

It was released on July 28, 2023.

Tropes

  • An Aesop: Life is full of suffering, which makes the moments of joy one experiences in that time all the more important.
  • Awesome Moment of Crowning: The central event of the film revolves around Gira's official ascension to the throne of Shugoddam.
  • Book Ends: The beginning of the movie shows off the first attempt at Gira's coronation ceremony, which is quickly interrupted by Devonica. Near the end of the movie, the second attempt at Gira's coronation ceremony is shown to be successful.
  • Call-Back:
    • The Thundercaller returns, and is used by the retainers to make their way to Hākabāka by lying and getting themselves electrocuted for it.
    • N'Kosopa and Ishabana cooperate once more to revive the downed retainers, after their previous cooperation helped repair the weakened Shugods in #7.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Jeramie surreptitiously gives Yanma some of his webbing right before the latter is taken to Hākabāka with the others. Yanma later uses it as a cable to power up some electronics which he uses to get in touch with Shiokara, and which Jeramie later uses to join the team for the final battle.
  • Comedic Sociopathy: Yanma tries to escape the land of the dead by getting Shiokara to kill himself with the lie detector. Unfortunately, Shiokara closes the doorway behind him, trapping them both.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Dagded makes an appearance in the "Complete Edition" to set up the plot of the second half of the series.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • Kaguragi is first seen in the afterlife calling out to Rcules to no avail. Considering he wasn’t dead to be begin with...
    • Reinoil warns Gira that a great threat will come if he is crowned and only he can face it. This threat will be seen two years later.
  • Graceful Loser: After Reiniol loses to the kings, he entrusts the kingdom to Gira and asks him to protect the people, no matter what.
  • Ham-to-Ham Combat: As befitting a king who founded a 2000 year old dynasty and the would-be inheritor of said dynasty who likes to act as an over-the-top tyrant, Reiniol and Gira really get into it during their bout before the big fight scene.
  • Late-Arrival Spoiler: Jeramie's appearance and the fact that the film is centered around Gira's coronation is a huge giveaway to much of the series, especially as the film spoiled details on the story that hadn't even aired on TV yet.
  • Non-Serial Movie: Explicitly averted as the movie follows and expands upon the ending of #23, which depicted a part of Gira's coronation ceremony.
  • Out of Focus: Jeramie is only shown at the beginning and ending of the movie, as well as in the team's fight against Reinoil.
  • Re-Cut: The "Complete Edition" of the movie, which can be found on the Toei Tokusatsu Fanclub and the Blu-Ray edition, adds back around six minutes of deleted footage.
  • Remember the New Guy?: Gira explains that Devonica grew up in the same orphanage he was at before suddenly leaving on her 20th birthday. Despite this, she has never been mentioned in-series before the movie.
  • Rule of Symbolism: Hymeno encounters a vibrant garden-like place in Hākabāka, whereupon her parents' spirits then arrive to greet her. As they give her a hug, the garden suddenly gives way to a forest of barren trees, emphasizing that Hymeno's parents are indeed dead.
  • The Stinger:
    • The post-credits scene of the theatrical version shows Devonica enjoying a slice of cake in her orphanage clothing.
    • The post-credits scene of the "Complete Edition" shows Reinoil facing off against an unknown threat before being defeated by their attack. The camera pans up to show a bored Dagded Dujardin.
  • Two Lines, No Waiting: The main plot of Adventure Heaven sees Reinoil trying to take Gira's place as the king of Shugoddam to protect Tikyū from an unknown threat. Hymeno, Rita, and Kaguragi's subplots revolves around them confronting the things that haunt their past, while Yanma's plot revolves around him trying to find a way back to the land of the living.
  • The Underworld: The main setting of the movie takes place in Hākabāka, Tikyū's version of the underworld. Unlike most examples, it is extremely vibrant and colorful, filled to the brim with abstract, yet beautiful imagery.
  • Wham Line: In the "Complete Edition", Reinoil drops a massive bomb on Gira before he leaves Hākabāka:
Reinoil: There is already a king of Shugoddam. Rcules Husty still lives.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Gira calls out Reinoil for trying to sacrifice Devonica, accusing him of using his power for selfish reasons rather than to protect the people.
