- Comments: Incredibly well written and gets the characters and their relationships as well as the historical background just right. This writer is equally skilled when it comes to action sequences - there is one aerial battle in particular, involving a blood-thirsty Moncey and a Richard Sharpe thoroughly out of his depth, that just takes the reader's breath away - as where dialogue or character development are concerned. No romance, and interestingly, no extreme deviations from canon. Just a damn good ride.
