Uses comedy and drama while maintaining the core personalities of the characters. The stories Because and Beautiful Dreamer are a good two-for. Defeated has an ending that needs to be read. Has 22 stories based on Love Hina.
The author using of AU divergence (ie Keiichi dying young in one instance and then him and Kanako being about the same age as Sara after his reincarnation/second chance)for Kid Keitaro is a real treat for anyone who stumbles across. Blends Heartwarming, Awesome, and Tearjerker moments to a very satisfying series of works. Currently at 3 fics for kid keitaro and also to note are his other two fics Sempai, my Saviour, and Ancestor.
Stories focused on the family and the friendly relationships of the cast. Plot-focused stories or light day-in-the-life stories. Pretty much anything that isn't focused on romance.Contract Labor by Greydon Creed

Synopsis: Keitaro comes to manage the Hinata with quite a bit more assertiveness than in the original. Not to mention just a bit of baggage regarding an incident on an expedition in Roanpur. This fic is a divergence, and though the concept could have turned Keitaro into a Marty Stu, the author skillfully avoids the mistakes that many others have made. Ongoing, with fairly frequent updates.
Though the updates have become less frequent, the fic is still alive and has entered the Roanapur arc with the publishing of chapter 38, as of July 22, 2013.
Synopsis: After the series' final adventure, the ladies of the Hinata-Sou are at odds not with Keitaro, but each other. Things let go or once forgotten will be hashed out, and feelings of betrayal abound. The next part of their lives begins. Canon-based, Kei/Naru.
Synopsis: A month after the adventure in the Kingdom of Molmol, Shinobu, returning from a shopping trip, is accosted by a gang known to have beaten and raped a woman when she is saved by a mysterious man who calls himself "Noman." Not long after, the Hinata-sou gains two new tenants: a young girl and her older brother. Their presence brings forth problems from a clan of ninjas determined to start up an old feud...
Synopsis: Continuation of the series where Keitaro finally gets fed up with the abuses he is repeatedly put through by the Hinata Inn tenants and cuts all ties with them. Granny Hina and the tenants weren't about to just let him go, but his family and new friends will soon show them to just leave him alone and let him live his life, or face serious consequences. Also includes characters from Ranma 1/2 and Evangelion.
Synopsis: An alternate, more realistic take on what Keitaro's life would be if he did not obsess over and moved on from his childhood promise with Naru and Mutsumi, and reacting in a way any normal person would at the antics of the Hinata Inn residents. Also includes characters from Great Teacher Onizuka.
Synopsis: Love Hina Hajime no Ippo crossover! Keitaro, tired of feeling abused and unconfident, meets a group of professional boxers that may have a solution. But the road is hard, and paved with pain. Can Keitaro reach his goals? Rated for language and violence.
Synopsis: What if Keitaro was Philip's partner instead of Shotaro? When the half-and-half detectives are called in by their grandmother to look after the Hinata-Sou, they must soon work with their female tenants to solve the mystery behind the Dopant crimes in their city, and find the organization responsible.
Synopsis: Keitaro gets punched by Naru one time too many and withdraws into himself in despair. Can success in life lead him into a better life or will cutting himself off from human companionship make him a shell of a man?
Comments: An one-shot crossover of The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya and Love Hina. Found only on Mediaminer.org.
Synopsis: Every time Shinobu watched Keitaro getting abused, something in her ached to do something to protect him. To stop his tormentors. And to make him see her as something more than a shy little girl. Rating may change. Naru-bashing.
Comments: If you're like me and hate how Keitaro is treated in the show... then look no further than this, especially when it becomes clear just what this fic is crossed over with...
Synopsis: He promised to be a Hero capable of saving everyone. But before that he made other promises he can't remember under a different name. How will Shirou react when he finds his lost past?
Comments: What if Urashima Keitaro was in Fuyuki on the day of the fire? What if he was raised as Emiya Shirou? What if his birth relatives found him several years after the War? The answer: this story, and as it unfolds, watch general awesomeness and Character Development happen.

Pairing: Keitaro/Naru (UST)
Synopsis: A traditional "The girls wise up to how nice Keitaro really is" story, but without overdoing it like most do; also contains the twist that, apparently, the Universe hates True Love, as Keitaro still can't get a date to go right with Naru. Naru is not depicted as evil or bad for Keitaro- rather the Universe is apparently out to get them.
Synopsis: The plot is a 'What if Tsuruko actually forced Keitaro and Motoko to get married', but its very touchingly handled and well-characterized. The second story, 'Aftermath', picks up shortly after the first, as the now-happily-and-for-real married couple deals with handling the fallout with the rest of the Hinata Inn residents, the arrival of Kanako (who is just a bitYandere in this one), Motoko's pregnancy, and other plot complications. Very nice WAFF moments whenever Keitaro & Motoko are being a happily married couple, later on. Although its not that easy at first...
Status: Loss And Redemption is complete. Aftermath is not, and appears to be abandoned after chapter 6. Still worth reading, though.
Synopsis: A classic, perhaps the definitive, Keitaro and Shinobu fan fic. Shinobu's request that Keitaro accompany her to her school prom has widespread consequences. The story is heavy on the angst and symbolism, but the sharp character deconstruction manages to remain in the foreground.
Synopsis: "Kitsune notices Keitaro return from a flight courtesy of Naruair looking physically and mentally the worse for wear, and decides to take an interest in his wellbeing. That decision has repercussions far beyond their wildest imaginings."
