She Who Walks in Starlight (in Another World) is a Fairy Tail series by riddlercj.

After witnessing 10,000 dragons destroy Fiore and kill nearly everyone she knows. Natsu and Lucy both know there is only one thing left to do. Go back in time through the Eclipse Gate and save the future. After Natsu gives his life to give Lucy (Rushi) a chance to do so. Rushii manages to time travel but already, this universe is slightly different than what she is used to.

Tropes for the series include:

• Adaptational Badass: Enforced by Rushii to Lucy who trained her in magic at a young age but to an extent Rushii herself. Canon Future Lucy had lost her hand and there was no hint she ever developed her magic beyond the Grand Magical Games. In this verse, Rushii was confirmed to at least be able to use Star Dresses.
• Adaptational Early Appearance: Unbeknownst to Rushii until much later. Lucy and Natsu met originally when they were quite young. Lucy nearly got kidnapped and fled to the forest. With Natsu was out looking for Igneel and temporarily ran away from Fairy Tail.
• Adaptation Name Change: Team Natsu go by Team Haluna (Happy (Ha), Lucy (Lu) and Natsu (Na) )
• Adaptation Personality Change: The most noticeable is Taurus, who instead of being his canon self who leers over Lucy's body. He focuses on complimenting her muscles instead. This is actually justified since Rushii suspects Celestial Spirits sometimes change themselves to their owners' aura and personalities and whether Tarus' initial pervertedness actually spoke a lot about herself. And Lucy is a much different person than she was originally.
• Big Damn Reunion: A downplayed example but Natsu and Lucy's reunion in Chapter 5. Both had previously met years prior and Natsu was incredibly glad to see her again, considering her impact on his life.
• Butterfly of Doom: It might be because this universe was already slightly darker than Rushii original timeline but for instance, people suffer a lot more from injuries and trauma events than in canon.
• Can't Spit It Out: Played Straight but also Subverted to an extent with Future Natsu and Lucy. While Natsu was unable to confess properly. Lucy understood his intentions anyway and reciprocated the feeling.
  Future Natsu:“You know I—Luce-”
  Lucy (Rushii):“I know. I do too.”
  • Rushii is an enforced example because of the Eclipse Gate. She can't talk too much about the future to Lucy without suffering from immense pain.
• Cool Big Sis: Lucy starts to see Rushii as one due to her help and advice. She even calls her Nee-san.
• Darker and Edgier: Unlike many series which may follow this, this one has a more balanced and realistic approach as it is focused on studying characters' traumas and behaviours. This is noted In-Universe by Rushii who recalled a more light-hearted timeline in her original universe. Here Macao nearly dies properly from his injuries on Mt Hakobe when in the original he was simply bruised and had minor injuries.
• Determinator: Even explaining certain things in the timeline will cause Rushii immense pain to stop her from telling Lucy. Rushii however finds work around with imagery and riddles to tell Lucy anyway.
• Didn't See That Coming: A comedic example. In this universe, Cana and Mirajane of all people are dating which throws Rushii off who suspected Mirajane and Laxus in her universe might've had something going on. Though in retrospect, she did admit Cana did have Bisexual vibes.
• Didn't Think This Through: Played for Laughs when Aquarius is pissed that Lucy summoned Cancer over her when they were in the middle of the ocean.
• Foreshadowing:
  • There are several hints towards Natsu being E.N.D.
    • Lucy can sense an ancient presence within Natsu in conjunction with his campfire warmth and Natsu's surviving traversing the Celestial Spirit Realm with Virgo at Everlue's mansion is brought to attention.
• Forgotten First Meeting: Averted completely with Natsu's and Lucy's brief meeting as children, which was incredibly important for the both of them. Later allowing them to develop a much stronger impression on each other in the new timeline. Mirajane even mentions how after meeting Lucy, Natsu improved immensely within the guild and was happier after their brief encounter.
• Hypocritical Humor: Aquarius who is usually annoyed with summons by Lucy in canon and in the series, was pissed that Lucy had the audacity to summon Cancer first in the middle of the ocean instead of her.
  Aquarius: “You’re fighting on a boat, in the middle of the fucking ocean, and your first instinct is to call the damn crab?! What am I, canned salmon?”
• I Will Wait for You: Natsu in this new universe with Lucy after meeting as young children and she encouraged him to open up to his Family of Choice Fairy Tail. Natsu even says the trope word for word.
  Natsu: “Come to Fairytail, one day! I’ll—I’ll wait for you! And then you could meet the rest of us! M-My family!”
• Love Transcends Spacetime: Heavily implied to be the case with Natsu towards Lucy. Natsu is much more protective of Lucy initially at Haregon and despite knowing she could most likely handle the situation with Bora he rushes in anyway to help her.
  Natsu didn’t move as he stood in shock, feeling his heart race with unease as he watched Lucy go into danger. She was strong, he could feel it, but why did he—
• Mental Time Travel: Future Lucy or Rushii is currently in her younger body, but rather than take over Lucy's body (for the most part), she mostly advises and assists Lucy with her magic.
• One-Steve Limit: Averted immediately with Future Lucy and Lucy who are in regular contact with each on account of sharing the same body. For convenience's sake, Future Lucy goes by Rushii throughout the fic.
• Parental Neglect Jude is even worse towards Lucy in terms of neglecting her and Rushii finds it hard not to resent and be disgusted at Jude for his actions with Phantom Lord.
• Positive Friend Influence: Lucy towards Natsu. Her first meeting in the new timeline has her encouraging him to connect with the guild members in Fairy Tail. Upon their reunion and her joining Fairy Tail, she has helped Natsu with his literacy and reading skills and as a means of emotional support.
• Possession Burnout: Inverted: Rushii gets this after possessing Lucy's body for a considerable amount of time and needs to recuperate. Or tries to provide the information they aren't supposed to know yet, such as the crucifixions of Team Shadow Gear.
• Secret-Keeper: Other Celestial Spirits have figured that two souls are currently inhabiting Lucy's body. Cancer and Aquarius were two such to point it out.
  Cancer:“...but first, I’d like to chat with the other presence inside of you- ebi .”
• Snark-to-Snark Combat: Supringsly Aquarius and Cancer have developed a somewhat snarky relationship towards each other regarding their summoner Lucy from their very first encounter. For instance:
  Cancer: "Excuse you- ebi, but not all of us are compliant with sitting around in water, moping about how much they miss their boyfriend. One would think that with an aura like yourself, you’d be more… independent-ebi. ”
  Aquarius: “And suddenly, I remember why I avoided your nonchalant ass. You never fail to piss me off, Cancer.”
  Cancer: “A divine beauty like yourself, thinking about me- ebi ? I am truly flattered. Stop by the salon sometime, I’ll give you a trim.”
  Aquarius: “You’re not touching my hair, crab.”
  Cancer: “Pity. I suggested my offer for a reason.”
• Supernatural Sensitivity: Lucy develops the ability to sense people's auras.
  • The Celestial Zodiac also have this ability, according to Cancer to Rushii.
  Cancer:“I am one of the 12 Zodiac Golden Keys, I hope you realize- ebi . We are able to hold a degree of spiritual sensory abilities. In fact, you were the first thing that I noticed the moment I stepped out of this gate. When the child summoned me, it felt like a joint-effort.”
• Willing Channeler: Lucy occasionally allows Rushii to take over her body to handle situations she might be able to handle better, such as on Mt Hakobe and directing the medical attention on Macao and speaking face to face with Gajeel.
• What Happened to the Mouse?: Future Rogue is currently a rogue element and while Rushii suspects he might've also travelled to his younger body like herself. She is unsure of what happened to him.
