REJOICE! She who shall surpass all on Remnant! The Huntress who has traveled through space and time from Remnant to Earth and became a Rider!

Rider Time Zi-O: Roze from Remnant is a Crossover between Kamen Rider Zi-O and RWBY written by Zero Enchiladas, with Ruby Rose joining the main cast of Zi-O as Kamen Rider Roze, causing major canon divergence for both series. The fic can be read on fanfiction.net and on AO3.

A twist of fate sends Ruby Rose to a new world for an important task, a task that will change the very course of history for both Earth and Remnant: "It is time for the Heisei Kamen Riders to pass their power down to the future! But with the appearance of a simple, honest soul far from home, what will the future hold? Rejoice, for the birth of a new age!"

Beware of unmarked spoilers for all RWBY volumes and Kamen Rider Zi-O.

Rider Time Zi-O: Roze From Remnant contains the following:

  • Action Girl: Ruby and her team of course. Tsukuyomi too once she becomes a Kamen Rider in the Agito arc.
  • Adaptation Expansion: Since this is a fanfic that doesn't have to worry about the actual actors reprising their roles, every tribute arc features the Main Rider, as well as several others that weren't present in the original tributes.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance:
    • The events of Kamen Rider Zi-O: Rider Time Ryuki occur between the OOO arc and Heisei Generations Forever. Conversely, the Gaim arc occurs later, between the Birth of the King and Day of Ohma arcs.
    • Another Para-DX, Genm Maximum Gamer and Kanon Specter appear years earlier than any of their canon appearances.
    • Tsukuyomi originally became a Kamen Rider in the second to last episode of her original show, here she becomes one during the Agito arc.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Whereas canonically, Narutaki is a Wild Card who’s more of a nuisance than a threat, this fic makes him the Greater-Scope Villain for his home series, and an Arc Villain playing The Man Behind the Man.
  • Adapted Out: With the exceptions of Another Build, Another Ryuki, Another Kuuga and Another Ghost (and possibly Another Agito, given how little is known about the canon character), none of the Another Rider hosts from the show appear. Justified, as Ruby’s comparative Story-Breaker Power makes the Time Jackers keener to take on stronger hosts to try and defeat Zi-O.
    • The Gaim arc adapts the events of that series’ Tie-In Novel, but Kugai only transforms into Lotus position here, with Saver Golden Arms, Darkness Arms, Maja Arms and the Predator Dinosaur omitted.
    • Luke Kidman is omitted from the story’s version of Another Ending: Brave and Snipe.
    • Due to this story’s take on it taking place before Kamen Rider Saber, Touma, Mei, Desast and Rintaro do not get involved in the plot regarding the Kanon clones.
  • Ascended Extra: Due to Ruby's presence managing to remove the rule that there can only be one of each Rider, the past Riders play a far more prominent role than a brief team-up to hand off their power to Sougo and Geiz, with them showing up whenever the protagonists need their assistance.
    • Sento and Ryuga are the two most frequent examples. From being the first Legend Riders met, crossing over to Remnant in both instances, and even the Cross-Z movie being covered. Sento is their go-to guy for tech issues, and he is the one in charge of making sure Penny stays in proper condition.
  • Aura Vision: Sougo's Semblance, basically. He can see through walls and objects to see the people around him, and identify if they're friends, enemies, or unknown.
  • Back from the Dead: Subverted with Kamen Rider Another Agito. He returns as a ghost in an attempt to defeat the Another Rider Another Agito but is only able to muster the strength to unleash a single rider kick before returning to the afterlife.
  • Bad Guys Do the Dirty Work: While Roze RWBY gave Salem a definitive defeat, it was Oma Zi-O who halted her return, pulling her to Earth 2068 and confining her so Remnant would be safe while his younger self gained the power to put her down for good.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: As per canon, Sougo is a Nice Guy. He also is willing to spam Zi-O II's future sight and Time Master powers to make sure his friends survive, and gave Tyrian a brutal No-Holds-Barred Beatdown.
  • Body-Count Competition: After reclaiming the Shinobi Miridewatch, Geiz challenged Woz to see who could kill the most of Ironwood's Another Agito army.
"Many thanks," Woz said as he grasped the Shinobi Miridewatch only for Geiz to not let go, "Hmm?"
"Woz, between your Shinobi and my Shippu, which do you think is faster?" Geiz asked as he let go of the Miridewatch.
"How intriguing, challenging me now of all times?" Woz asked as he readied his Shinobi Miridewatch.
  • Bond One-Liner: Upon Zi-O Trinity defeating Another Blade, Sougo says, "Battle Fight...ended. Forever."
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: Upon Tsukuyomi transforming into a Kamen Rider, Ruby is the one who gives the typical Rejoice speech instead of Woz.
    • When he arrives just in time to save Penny, Eiji says, "I may be borrowing a friend's catchphrase, but we have arrived."
  • Brutal Honesty: The whole schtick of Kamen Rider Quiz, which blows up in the face of Another Quiz when Blake and Weiss are able to No-Sell his attacks on her using borrowed knowledge of Remnant since both of them wholly accept, respectively, their non-human origins and the fact her father's company is a Wretched Hive and she's The Un Favourite.
  • Call-Back: Upon arriving in Remnant, Yusuke Godai quotes his first transformation into Mighty Form.
"Even if it's another world… I won't let the people of this world suffer because of these creatures! I want them to have hope!" Godai called out as he took a stance, summoning the Arcle to his waist, "So to those of you here, please… take a look at my... Henshin!"
  • Crossover Villain-in-Chief: In spite of Salem's immortality and Grimm, she is completely outmatched by all of the Time Jackers thanks to their time freeze abilities. Both Cinder and Ironwood are also only being manipulated by Finis and Swartz, respectively. Although, every single villain from both franchises are nothing compared to Ohma Zi-O.
  • Decomposite Character: While Kuroto and Schwartz still appear, they do not become Another OOO and Another Decade. Those mantles go to Ancient OOO and Narutaki.
  • Demoted to Extra: Yui Manuchi, the secondary lead and Implied Love Interest from New World: Cross-Z only appears in one scene towards the end.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation: Rather than die at Blake and Yang's hands, Adam is killed by White Woz.
  • Discard and Draw:
  • The Dog Bites Back: When Cinder breaks free from Salem to join the Time Jackers, Emerald is forcefully turned into Another Shinobi. After eventually being freed, she uses her illusion powers to intervene in the fight between Roze and Hi-Roze, allowing Ruby to seize the advantage against Cinder.
  • Doorstopper: Over 1,000,000 words as of August 2023, with another 16,000 added by the side-stories.
  • Everyone Can See It: Ruby and Penny are this, especially after Yang and Blake admit their own feelings for each other, with the others considering them a couple even if they don't themselves.
  • Eyepatch After Time Skip: In the Reflected Future Gaiden, future versions of Sougo and Ruby come back to stop a returning Tatsuya Kano. Future Ruby is sporting an eyepatch, much to her present self's dismay. Played for Laughs when Future Sougo comments that she only wore it to look cool as they head back to their time.
  • Foreshadowing: Early in the story, when they learn of Salem's immortality, Woz scoffs and considers her to be just a 'stepping stone' for Oma Zi-O. After her defeat in Chapter 96, Oma Zi-O summons her to Earth in 2068 and effortlessly takes her out with Kuuga's Mighty Kick.
    • Tsukasa is notably accompanied in the early chapters by a mysterious woman. It's later confirmed to be a very much alive Summer Rose...
  • Generation Xerox: Retroactive example. Ruby becomes Kamen Rider Roze, a Palette Swap of Zi-O, able to use her own Ziku Driver to, instead of creating armors, equip the weapons of past Riders. Much later, we learn that using a system similar to Decade's, Summer Rose became Kamen Rider Rose, a Palette Swap of Decade, able to also equip the weapons of past Riders.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Despite Ruby's presence, due to the meddling of Woz, several things still happen close to how they did in the original canon.
  • Intimidation Demonstration: When the New World Cross Z arc sees Evolt revived, Ruby and Geiz make it quite clear that the alien lifeform had best not get frisky with them.
Evol gave a stretch as he cracked his neck a few times, "Jeez, been a while."
    "Evolt," Sento gave a glare.
"Yo Sento," Evol gave a casual wave, "Long time no see. Thanks to you, I've revived at full power."
"We only did this in order to defeat Killbus," Sento pointed out as he crossed his arms.
"I figured," Evol admitted, "You all are pretty relaxed given that your whole defeat Killbus plan fully depends on if I want to cooperate or not."
    [REVI-I-VE SHI-PPU! SHIPPU!]
    [FINISH TIME!]
In an instant the two pronged claw of the Zikan Jaclaw was pressed up near Evol's throat, a flash of petals occurring as Ruby was immediately behind Evol, energy charging in Crescent Rose as she had brought it out without transforming, using her Ridewatch to prep the finisher.
Evol slowly but surely raised his hands up in surrender, forcing himself to keep his shock quiet despite the fact that he was completely blindsided by the two. Well, Ruby was easier to figure out given the rose petals he assumed, but the fact that Geiz couldn't even be tracked… that was an issue.
"Told you that we'd be watching you," Yang walked over while crossing her arms, "How about we run down the very many ways on why you shouldn't even think of betraying us."
  • Mythology Gag:
    • During the second half of the OOO’s arc, Woz’s recap does the original “three things” recap the original show did.
    • Some characters having the same actors as characters from previous a Kamen Rider series is lampshaded at several points.
      • Upon seeing a picture of Otoya Kurenai, Sougo and Weiss are surprised to realize that he looks like Kazumi Sawatari and remark on the odds that they would know two unrelated people who look exactly like one another.
Sougo: He looks like a friend of ours.
Weiss: Yeah, this guy named Kazumi. They look strikingly similar.
Kivat: Well there are urban legends that do say everyone has a doppelganger of themselves.
      • The first time Sougo and Ruby meet Yuto Sakurai, they mistake him for Kyosuke Kiriya.
      • Everyone is a little perturbed upon first meeting the Dark Rider Otoya Kurenai due to him looking like Kazumi Sawatari.
    • Summer's outfit, as of Chapter 134, is her canon outfit from her final mission, complete with her personal weapon, Sundered Rose.note
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Ruby refuses to listen to her Mirror World version during the Another Ryuki arc, refuting all it's claims about her drifting away from her roots, which ends up allowing her to enter the prime universe as Kagami Rose, a full on Mirror Self to Ruby.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: This trope keeps popping up, as per Rider tradition.
    • The original OOO, revived as Another OOO, revived Ankh as an Empty Shell loyal only to him. Thanks to Ruby obtaining the Tajador Ridewatch, Ankh was fully revived, allowing him to help defeat the King.
    • Another Blade, unable to De-power Blade and Chalice, instead takes their Joker Factors. This means that Kazuma and Hajime no longer have to avoid each other for fear of starting another Battle Fight, as they're no longer Undead.
    • Shocker planned to use someone from Remnant as a super soldier who could use the weapons of past Riders. End result of this Evil Plan: Summer Rose becomes the first ever Rider of Remnant.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: In a deliberate homage to the one from Kamen Rider Kuuga, Sougo delivers one to Tyrian Callows during the Volume 7 climax.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: Godai taking on Another Kuuga in his Ultimate Form. Woz's cloak teleports Sougo, Geiz and Ruby away to safety before they could witness the outcome of that fight.
  • Other Me Annoys Me: Both Sougo and Ruby have to face this, with Sougo being terrified of Oma Zi-O, who can defeat almost anything easily, including himself, while Ruby ends up creating her own adversary with her refusal to accept the truth about herself.
  • Parental Sexuality Squick: Ruby is dismayed to find that her mother Summer is now in a relationship with Tsukasa.
  • Point of Divergence: Ruby’s presence in Sougo’s world from September 2017 and unlocking his Aura in December of that year, causes changes to the events of Zi-O and post Volume 5 RWBY, to the point the former is near completely Off the Rails following the Agito arc.
    • When Ruby goes back to Remnant, she meets with Maria Calavera, who gives Ruby lessons in the true power of the Silver-Eyed Warriors. creating Kamen Rider Silver Roze.
  • Power Parasite: Kamen Rider NeoRoze has the power to steal Team RWBY's Rider weapons to use for herself, with the author noting that her power is just like Kamen Rider Gold Drive's power.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Lovely Corps' Dopants are basically an evil Super Sentai team.
Before the Riders stood the twisted versions of W's Gaia Memories, the Cyclone, Heat, Trigger and Metal Dopants with Another W standing in the center.
"The Wonderful Breeze," Genki called out, making a heart shape with his hands, "Cyclone Dopant!"
"The Silent Sniper," Trigger held a hand out before closing it, "Trigger Dopant."
"The Hardened Staff," Metal slammed his metal staff into the ground, "Metal Dopant!"
"The Scorching Fighter," Heat crossed her arms, "Heat Dopant!"
"The Lovely Commander," Chizu declared as she pointed forward, her voice less distorted which allowed everyone to hear her true tone, "Another W!"
      "Lovely Squadron, Dopantenger!"
    • Summer's Semblance is based on Boogie Woogie, Aoi Todo's Cursed Technique from Jujutsu Kaisen.
    • After Hiryu altered the timeline, as per canon, Weiss wound up channeling Kagome to prevent Geiz from starting a second round with Sougo and Ruby.
"This is just a waste of time," Geiz sighed as he stood up as he began to draw out his Ridewatch from its holster, "Our enemies are Zi-O, Roze and Tsukuyomi, whether that's Hiryu, Cinder, or you two… I'll take all of you down. It's as simple as that."
"Sit boy," Weiss said as she held up a finger, summoning a Gravity Glyph underneath Geiz and forcing him down, watching as Geiz was forced to catch himself by sitting down in his chair. The other alternative was him being sent sprawling to the floor if he didn't catch himself.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: In canon, Summer Rose’s fate is ambiguous, with it being assumed that she became a Grimm. In this fic she was saved by Tsukasa Kadoya from dying to Salem, joining the Hikari Studio as a Sixth Ranger
    • Inui Takumi canonically died at the end of his series, with future appearances the result of him retroactively being added by Shocker's History Modifying Machine. Here, meeting Ruby soon after his run ended allowed the Faiz Ridewatch to stabilize his existence, allowing him to live past that point without any outside help.
    • While Clover does get killed by Tyrian and Harbinger, Sougo reverses time, undoing and preventing his death.
    • All canon casualties in Volume 8 are averted as well, including Penny.
  • Spotting the Thread: While the Time Jackers are able to con Ironwood with a story about how they're La Résistance fighting to stop Sougo from becoming the tyrant Oma Zi-O, Winter quickly realizes that the brutal acts of their Kaijin, as well as seeing them also ally with Cinder, means they're not trustworthy.
  • Stable Time Loop: The Point of Divergence for the fic is Geiz leaving a blank Ridewatch in 2004, which prevents Takumi’s Orphnoch degradation and forces Shocker to turn to world jumping rather than history alteration, connecting the world to Remnant and catching Ohma Zi-O’s attention. This results in him sending Ruby to 2017, more permanently altering events to the point Geiz goes back to 2004 and drops a blank Ridewatch…
  • Story Arc: There are seven planned sagas in the story, of which five are out.
    • "Lost Huntress 2018", which pays tribute to Build, Ex-Aid, Faiz, Wizard, OOO, Ryuki, W, Kuuga, Ghost, and Decade, from Chapters 1 to 24.
    • "Rising Riders of Remnant", which is an adaptation of RWBY Volume 6, from Chapters 26 to 39.
    • "Arrival of Oma's Day", which pays tribute to Black RX & Movie Trilogy, Gaim, Blade, and Agito, while dealing with the three future riders Shinobi, Quiz, and Kikai, from Chapters 40 to 76.
    • "A New Age for Remnant", which is an adaptation of RWBY Volumes 7 and 8, while giving a proper tribute to Decade, from Chapters 77 to 106.
    • "The Grand Rider World", which pays tribute to Hibiki, Fourze, Drive, Kabuto, Kiva, and Den-O, from Chapter 107 to 128.
    • "Who Will Be King 2019", from Chapter 130 onwards.
  • Super Mode: In addition to the canonical power ups for Zi-O, Geiz and Woz, Kamen Rider Roze has Silver Roze, a Palette Swap of Zi-O II, Rose Armor, based off her mothers Kamen Rider abilities using the Decade Armor as a base later during the New Age of Remnant Saga, enhancing her Weapon Time abilities to allow her to summon any weapon from a Rider's arsenal instead of just their base form by inserting their respective Ridewatch into the Rose Ridewatch, and Roze RWBY, a variation of Zi-O Trinity that lets Ruby use the powers and weapons of her team.
    • Later, Tsukuyomi gets Noble Tsukuyomi, which lets her use some of Team Zi-O and Team RWBY (plus Penny)'s powers and weapons.
  • Temporarily a Villain: Downplayed, but Ruby’s team do briefly turn on Sougo after he unlocks Zi-O II, much like Tsukuyomi and Geiz did in canon.
  • Tranquil Fury: Sougo's No-Holds-Barred Beatdown on Tyrian was delivered with zero yelling, just a mostly-silent pummeling of the villain.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Tid as Another Kuuga loses any sense of composure when Yusuke Godai confronts him during the climax in "Resurrection 2000".
  • Weakened by the Light: Ruby discovers that Another Riders are affected by the Silver Eyes in a similar way to the Grimm, with some assistance from Maria Calavera allowing her to use the power as a Kamen Rider, which destroys both Grimm and Another Riders.
