This fanfic contains examples of:

  • Author Avatar: Cornholio is one, even said to be from a powerful species named after this trope.
  • Because It Amused Me: Cornholio freely admits that this is his motivation for everything.
  • Butt-Monkey: Boscha ends up becoming one.
  • The Cameo: Chad and Raccacoonie make a brief appearance during an Intermission chapter.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Boscha ends up having a few moments where this is shown:
    • She is in disbelief at the idea of gay conversion camps as homophobia itself doesn’t exist on the Boiling Isles.
    • Being able to understand King’s attempt at dance-speaking, she thinks that whatever he actually said was low, even for her.
  • Gory Discretion Shot: Amity, Camila, and Eda all beat up Odalia after "Escaping Expulsion". We know they broke her arm and there was blood left behind, but beyond that what exactly they did remains unknown.
  • Insult to Rocks: Boscha upon seeing Jacob Hopkins dressed in his armor states that he looks like a loser, Skara retorts about how many losers she insulted with the comparison.
  • "Let's Watch Our Show" Plot: The very premise of the fic.
  • Mama Bear: Camila Noceda is shown to be protective off Luz and worries about the constant dangers that Luz keeps ending up finding herself in. After Lilith’s cursing of Eda is revealed on screen and Eda wants to fight Lilith for it, Camila is more than willing to watch after seeing her endangering Luz’s life on screen.
  • Take That!:
    • At one point Cornholio warns Luz that if she calls him ‘Corny’ again, he will make her watch the Cats movie.
    • Anti-vaxxers are mocked when Gwendolyne enters the show and exhibits similar viewpoints in regards to potions.
    • Chapter 48 has Cornholio take a potshot at Endeavor and his controversial redemption arc when lamenting about Alador turning out to be nowhere near as bad as Odalia.
  • Tempting Fate:
    • At the end of “Understanding Willow”; after having the real reason for her breaking off her friendship with Willow is revealed and starting to fix things with her, she thinks that the next episode will probably be a filler, which they would probably need after the episode. Not like they would have two episodes with big revelations back to back. About that…
    • After having to deal with finding the aftermath of Joey and Angela’s near death experience at the hands of Ghostface, the audience demands the next episode be played for a breather. They ignore Cornholio’s warning and are sure it won’t be that bad. The next episode? “Yesterday’s Lie”.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Camilla is constantly hounding Eda for her less-than-moral actions regarding Luz. Though she softens up a bit after her backstory is revealed and seeing how she cares about Luz.
