- Accidental Adultery: Downplayed in Accidental Amnesiac Cheating. When Marinette finds out that she kissed Chat Noir while both were under amnesia via Oblivio, it causes her immense guilt since it can be argued that she was cheating on Kagami.
- Adaptational Sexuality: In-canon, Marinette and Kagami are both rivals for Adrien's affections. Here, they wind up dating each other when Kagami is the only one who sees Lila for the liar that she is without abandoning her like the rest of her classmates. In-fact, Kagami offhandedly calls Adrien a fool for not recognizing and reciprocating Marinette's affections.
- Comically Missing the Point: When Alya offhandedly calls Kagami "the ice queen", she thinks she is being compared to Weiss from RWBY when really she prefers Ruby.
- Dramatically Missing the Point: Alya assumed that Marinette was with Kagami - or "the ice queen" as she calls her - as a form of payback when the class ignored her for "mistreating" Lila, not realizing that since Kagami was the only one who believes her about Lila, Marinette fell for her legitimately.
- Fangirl: Kagami is a huge RWBY fan and she ends up getting Marinette into it as well.
- Insult Backfire: Kagami takes Alya’s remark about her being “the ice queen” well as a fan of RWBY.
- I Want Grandkids: Tomoe asks if Marinette and/or Kagami have ever thought about names for their future adopted grandkids.
- Kirk Summation: Kagami flatly tells Adrien that his "pretend it isn't happening and it'll fix itself" approach to Chloé and Lila causes only more harm than good and that Marinette is entitled to a little righteous enjoyment when Lila is found out by the class for the liar she is.
- Oblivious Mockery: In Accidental Amnesiac Cheating, Kagami casually mentions how her girlfriend Marinette dressed like a maid at the Ladybug movie premiere to Ladybug herself, unaware that Marinette is Ladybug. Or at least Ladybug thinks that she is unaware."She decided to embarrass me without knowing she was talking to me." Marinette thought as she listened to Kagami continue on.
- Pair the Suitors: In canon, Marinette and Kagami are rivals for Adrien's affections. Here, they end up getting together.
- Public Domain Character: In-Universe, in Season 7 Premiere Reaction, it’s shown that due to Ladybug and Chat Noir’s status as public figures movie studios are free to make their own movies of them as long as they keep them different from the others. However, the films and comics based on them have to invent their own idea as to who or what Hawk Moth is, due to the public not even knowing what he looks like.
- Secret Secret-Keeper: Kagami implies in Accidental Amnesiac Cheating that she knows that Marinette is Ladybug and is content to wait for her to tell her when she is ready.
