No Order in the Court is a My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fanfiction written by DmitriTheWriter. In this story, Twilight Sparkle gets framed for a crime, and is hauled off to the Ponyville Town Jail to await trial. As she has never been convicted of a crime before, she's never had need for a defense attorney. There is somepony willing to help her, however. And who better to represent Princess Twilight Sparkle in court than The Great and Powerful Trixie, Attorney at Law? This will end poorly...

No Order in the Court provides examples of:

  • Amoral Attorney: Apophis, Trixie's rival who is trying to prove Twilight is guilty at all costs. And he was the one that framed Twilight Sparkle for stealing the city of Manehattan and placing it in a bottle.
  • Answers to the Name of God: A variation, given how Celestia is a Physical God. When the jury says "so help me Celestia", he says "so help me myself".
  • City in a Bottle: What happened to Manehattan.
  • Devil in Plain Sight: Subverted with Malaclypse. While he may look Obviously Evil, with the Red Eyes, Take Warning, he was the one that brought in the evidence that proves Apophis' guilt. Give how he's Discord in disguise, clearly he picked an Obviously Evil disguise simply for the fun of it.
  • Evil Lawyer Joke: The judge gives this zinger when Apophis accuses Trixie of being evil:
Judge: Mr. Apophis, all lawyers are at least somewhat evil. What exactly is the point of this outburst?
  • Hypocritical Humor: The judge eats three saltines after telling Apophis lunch can only be eaten at recess.
  • Insane Troll Logic: Apophis uses this reasoning with a bit of Chewbacca Defense in an attempt to prove Twilight's guilt.
Apophis:You see, Your Honor and the good ponies of the jury, that is why the defendant Twilight Sparkle is guilty! You see, waffles are traditionally associated with delight, and delight with friendship. Therefore, if the witness cannot imagine a waffle, then Twilight Sparkle, the princess of friendship, must not have been there, and thus must have been at the scene of the crime at the time it happened. Therefore, she is guilty. Case closed!
  • Grim Reaper: Trixie summons Death itself as a witness.
  • Kangaroo Court: What Twilight accuses the court of being, not that she's far off given the hijinks that happened in the story.
  • Lemony Narrator: The story starts off with "It was a beautiful day in Ponyville, as it always seemed to be. You never hear of any rainy days in Ponyville, do you? The sun shone down on the townsfolk with nary a cloud in the sky, leaving one to wonder how all of the plants in the town don't die of thirst."
  • My Card: Trixie gives one to Twilight, with the contents of the card, unfortunately for Twilight, proving that Trixie isn't the best of lawyers.
  • Precision F-Strike: Downplayed since he is a Sir Swears-a-Lot but Apophis does shout "Damnit!" at the changelings when they accidentally reveal they are changelings.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Apophis has a habit of mumbling profanities under his breath.
