It currently stands at 12 chapters, each one named Case.

Start Your Tropes!:

  • Adaptational Backstory Change:
    • In the anime, Rush was created by Yuichiro Hikari to assist with various chores. Here, Rinna creates him to assist with solving cyber crimes.
    • In Mega Man Network Transmission, Zero.exe was a virus who resembled a Netnavi, created to spread the Zero Virus. Here, he's a Netnavi created to be Chase's partner.
  • Adaptational Badass: Maylu and Roll eventually gain access to Full Synchro.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: In Drive canon, the fire engine-themed Shift Car Fire Braver didn't appear until episode 9, due to being meant for Type Technic. Here, it appears in Chapter 1 to rescue Lan and Maylu from a fire caused by Mr. Match and Torchman.
  • Adaptational Expansion: Several Roidmudes who were nothing more than fodder are often given more personality and have even evolved.
  • Battle Aura: The activation of Full Synchro will give us a brief flash of this.
  • Battle Couple: Megaman and Roll.
  • Beyond the Impossible:
    • In Case 3, Lan and Mega prove to be such prodigies at Synchronization that the enemy boss is a little stunned.
      I'll be...You've just redefined what's possible!!!
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Roll gets an episode of this during Case 8 due to Brain altering an already dangerous BattleChip to fuse with her.
  • Butt-Monkey: Genpachiro Otta and Kyu.
  • Cool Big Sis: Kiriko and Rinna could be considered this for Lan and Maylu, considering how Maylu invited the two to a salon she won a free trip to in Case 6.
  • Cool Bike: Averted. Drive has a Cool Car instead.
  • Dangerous Forbidden Technique: Full Synchro is considered one because while it maximizes a Net Navi's potential, it can also result in damage being transferred to their Net Op.
  • Darker and Edgier: Played straight and averted. Compared to the source. It makes sense given it uses traces of Mega Man NT Warrior (2001) and crossed with Kamen Rider Drive.
    • The story also takes advantage of the Net Navi's being made mostly out of data, which means more violent fights. Indeed, most of the battles in some chapters involving Net Navis are downright brutal.
  • Defeat Equals Explosion: Played straight (averted) and doubled. Not only do the Roidmudes' expendable bodies explode, they are killed when their Cores explode as well, though in some cases the Core survives. Averted in certain cases when a Roidmude is mortally wounded, leading to both the body and Core crumbling into ashes.
  • Fight Clubbing: NetBattling Licenses are only available to individuals over the age of eighteen. ACDC's youth have a damn good time nonetheless. Lan has been hinted at being part of these underground battles.
  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!: The "swearing" when Lan and Maylu are around ranges from age-inappropriate (such as "drat" or "curses"?) to just bizarre ("dang blang!").
  • Gratuitous English: Belt-san tends to use it at times.
  • The Kindnapper: In Case 4, Maddy kidnaps Tory Froid so he can have Iceman freeze the WaterWorks so she can get the AquaCode form the system.
    • Happens again in Case 9, where Lan is the one who gets kidnapped by the Volt Roidmude and forces Megaman to get the ElecCode from the Power Plant's Network.
  • Monster of the Week: The Roidmudes and WWW Operatives.
  • Mooks: Downplayed. All Roidmudes have a default form known as Plain Roidmude, before evolving into their unique forms. While other series will have Riders sweep through a good dozen mooks an episode, there are only 108 numbered Roidmudes in total, so in the series a MOTW will be accompanied by only a handful of henchmen who never get the opportunity to evolve before being terminated.
    • Played straight with WWW Operatives, who can deploy Viruses to act as them in the Network.
  • Multiform Balance: Drive has multiple forms, called "Types", based on different cars: his default, Type Speed, is a Jack of All Stats and Fragile Speedster based on a sports car, Type Wild is an ATV-based Mighty Glacier, and Type Technic is a Magic Knight that seems to resemble a garbage truck.
  • Noodle Incident: In Case 4, Kiriko recalls a time they argued over bluefin or unagi and somehow divided the entire building's occupants at the time into two tribes that waged war with one another. Kiriko says it was the worst Golden Week ever.
  • Phlebotinum Rebel: As per Kamen Rider tradition, the Shift Cars are simply the Good Counterpart to the Viral Cores, meaning that once again the Rider's power is from the same source as the evil he combats. Lampshaded in Case 1, as Shinnosuke is reluctant to work on the Roidmudes case because he figures that Mr. Belt, the Shift Cars, the Viral Cores and the Roidmudes are all connected since Mr. Belt knows a lot about them, and they possibly even have the same source. Case 5 shows that Mashin Chaser can steal and use the Shift Cars himself thanks to having compatible systems.
  • Trademark Favorite Food:
    • Lan loves curry.
    • Shinnosuke enjoys his milk candies, especially when his engine is stalled.
  • Transformation Trinket:
    • Drive's is a two-part one, with the Drive Driver belt and the Shift Brace on the wrist. Mashin Chaser uses the Break Gunner, while Mach has the Mach Driver Honoh.
    • As of Case 10, Lan has access to a power called CrossFusion that uses his PeT and a SynchroChip to become Megaman on Earth.
  • Villains Act, Heroes React: Justified, as the heroes are working for the police and that the Roidmudes can perfectly blend within the populace.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Megaman has an immense fear of ghosts, including ghost-themed Viruses.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Lan is often getting severely injured. This is mostly because the synchronization means that an injury to Megaman spreads over to Lan. The Roidmudes have even gone so far as to electrocute him from behind and attach him to a machine that would have fried his brain if Drive didn't use Type Technic to free him.
