Jimmy Two-Shoes The Movie: Misery Loves Company is a Jimmy Two-Shoes fanscript created by T.N. Newton (Tumblr here). The script is unfinished at this time of writing, but an outline is on the author's Tumblr production blog (visit it here).

The basic plot involves Jimmy, Beezy, and Heloise looking for Beezy’s mother, who he’s never met, after discovering she has secretly and anonymously been sending him a present every year on his birthday. They find that she is a woman named Maggie, and that Beezy also has a fraternal twin brother named Belphy, who has been living with Maggie all this time. She reveals the reason she disappeared is that, thanks to a troubling psychic vision, she thinks Belphy was born with a terrible curse. However, Lucius never believed her or in her psychic powers, causing her to leave Beezy with him and go into hiding in order to protect Belphy from the supposed curse. As the story continues to unfold, Lucius Heinous the 1st is defrosted, Jimmy and Heloise’s pasts and their reason for being in Miseryville is revealed, and Jimmy must make the most important choice of his life.

Tropes:

  • Adaptation Origin Connection: In the series proper, Heloise was implied to be a natural resident of Miseryville rather than a Fish out of Water like Jimmy. Here, it turns out that Jimmy and Heloise both knew each other while they were still alive, and went to Miseryville at the same time.
  • Angelic Transformation: Jimmy becomes an angel to defeat Lucius I after learning of his mortal life and realizing his life on Miseryville was better than his life on Earth as an award for maintaining his good cheer in the face of literal damnation. As a result, he becomes the first human in centuries to ascend directly to Joyville (rather than having to go through Purgatory - or whatever the JTS equivalent would be - first).
  • The Antichrist: Belphy is unwilling version of this.
  • Big Bad: Lucius Heinous I takes on this role.
  • Big Damn Movie: For Jimmy Two-Shoes.
  • Birthday Episode: Beezy celebrates his 119th birthday at the start of the story.
  • The Cassandra: Maggie. Her visions that her unborn child would bring about a catastrophe that would threaten Miseryville were scoffed at by a skeptical Lucius, forcing her to leave him in order to protect Miseryville, her husband, and her child.
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: Turns out Saffi's mom is every bit as crazy as she is.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Jimmy and Heloise are revealed to have these before they ended up in Miseryville.
  • Darker and Edgier: While it's not as dark as some Jimmy Two-Shoes fanfics can be, it has definitely got a darker tone than the lighthearted series it was based on.
  • Demon of Human Origin: The people of Miseryville are revealed to be this, having been stripped of their memories of their previous life by the Nefas Coactor, transforming into monsters once they hit rock bottom in their misery.
  • Door Stop Baby: Beezy is delivered as an infant to the doorstep of Lucius' mansion by Maggie with a note telling him that the baby is his son.
  • Enemy Mine: Lucius unfreezes Luciuses II-VI to stop Lucius I. While none of them get along at all, they've all decided they don't want their ancestor to retake rulership of Miseryville.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Sadistic and tyrannical Lucius was devastated when Maggie abandoned him, and 119 years later, he still misses her badly.
  • Eye Scream: In order to free himself from Lucius I's curse, Belphy gouges out his own Prophet Eyes.
  • Fallen Angel: Lucius I is revealed to be this, and Jimmy voluntarily becomes one when he chooses to leave Joyville and return to Miseryville.
  • Fantastic Flora: The Violilies, white flowers that play music. Maggie secretly gave one to Beezy on his birthday for the past 119 years.
  • Fat and Skinny: Downplayed, but Belphy is comparatively slimmer than his much larger brother.
  • Fictional Holiday: Trisolar Day, a mix of Halloween and Bonfire Night that occurs every 6 years, coincides with Miseryville's three suns aligning, and marks the day Lucius I was cast out of Joyville and into what would become Miseryville.
  • Fix Fic: The author describes the story as being intended to give the show a more satisfying ending that expands upon the setting and repairs many of the mistakes of Season 2. For instance, Beezy's sudden Played for Laughs breakup with Saffi in "She Loves Me" (which was negatively received by fans as a slap in the face to the show's biggest Ensemble Dark Horse) is "fixed" with Beezy apologizing to Saffi for his unfaithfulness and deciding to resurrect their relationship.
  • Given Name Reveal: Several characters are given full names here: Beezy revealed to be short for Beeziel, Jez is Jezzica Belle, Saffi is Saffi Bael, and Jimmy is James McClarty.
  • Grand Finale: Created to be this for Jimmy Two-Shoes, which never got a proper finale.
  • Heaven: Miseryville's counterpart of Joyville, which is populated by angels and ruled by Gabriel Righteous XII of Joyous Inc.
  • Humongous Mecha: Heloise's Misery Mech.
  • Long-Lost Relative: Beezy's mother and twin brother, whom he has been separated from for over a century.
  • Mafia Princess: Heloise back when she was alive.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • Continuing the demonology Theme Naming of the cartoon, Belphy is named after the demon Belphegor, who is associated with Sloth (which is appropriate for the brother of Beezy).
    • Saffi's revealed last name of Bael is derived from the demon of the same name, who was based on the pagan deity Baal. Incidentally, Baal is also the root of Beelzebub, whom Beezy is named after.
  • Missing Mom: Beezy's mother Maggie, whose disappearance and reason for it are crucial to the plot. Turns out she's been living with the weavils the whole time.
  • The Movie: A fanmade concept for such, as the title suggests.
  • Mythology Gag: Word of God states Maggie's design is based on concept art of Jez, who was originally conceived as being Lucius' wife and Beezy's mom in the series' development process and is depicted as having been Maggie's friend before they met Lucius in the fic.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: Jimmy confesses in private to Cerbee that he's aware of Heloise's crush on him, but chooses to act oblivious to it because he's afraid it'll damage their friendship.
  • Our Angels Are Different: They are the primary inhabitants of Joyville, but like the demonic citizens of Miseryville are otherwise relatively ordinary and are formed from the souls of deceased humans.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • Samy has been secretly giving Beezy his mother's birthday gifts for him rather than destroying them as Lucius has been asking him to do.
    • Lucius uses his Reality Warper powers to restore Belphy to full health, sacrificing several centuries of his lifespan to do so. Maggie is so moved by this act of kindness that she agrees to remarry him.
  • Prophet Eyes: Belphy has these.
  • Psychic Powers: Maggie possesses these, allowing her to tell the future.
  • Reality Warper: Lucius, as per Word of God's confirmation. His omnipotent powers are used a little more here though, like influencing the weather with his emotions and being able to resurrect the dead.
  • Relationship Upgrade: Jimmy and Heloise. After being separated from each other for so long, they come to realize how important they are to each other's lives.
  • Retcon: Several things introduced in Season 2 are given this. For example, Auntie Pomegranate, Heloise's aunt from "What's Up with Heloise?", and Cousin Herman from "Something About Herman" are admitted by Heloise to not actually be her relatives, but rather experiments created from her own DNA. When she tells this to Jimmy, he remarks "So that's why you can buy annoying family members in the Misery Inc. catalogue!"
  • The Reveal: Miseryville is in fact Hell, and all its citizens are transformed humans; only the Heinous family is aware of this however.
  • Separated at Birth: Beezy and Belphy were split apart when they were born to be raised by Lucius and Maggie respectively, due to Belphy's Prophet Eyes alarming Maggie.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Snake People: Heloise becomes a snake-like demon at the end after she learns of her past and Jimmy has to leave for Joyville. However, her Voluntary Shapeshifting powers mean she can revert to her original human form as she wishes.
  • Tiny Guy, Huge Girl / Ugly Guy, Hot Wife: Maggie is noticeably taller and much more beautiful-looking than her diminutive and almost comical-looking husband Lucius.
  • Tome of Eldritch Lore: The Nefas Coactor, which contains the memories of every Miseryvillian's mortal life.
