Go To

Fully Fallen is a Hazbin Hotel story written by Anonymous set after season 1, where, following the final battle, Vaggie begins undergoing changes. Unsure of what is causing them, she turns to Lucifer for answers and is left shocked by the answer. Now that she's chosen her side, she's transforming into a Sinner.

Tropes in this fanfic:

  • Abusive Parents: Vaggie's feelings towards Adam recontextualize him as this to her, as he was the leader of the Exorcists and should have been a father figure to them, but was such an asshole that it left Vaggie unknowingly craving for a proper father figure, in no way helped by his standing by and watching as Lute took her eye and wings, only stepping in to personally take her Halo before leaving her for dead. When Vaggie is asked about how she feels towards Lucifer, she admits that she sees him as the dad Adam failed to be.
  • Adaptation Deviation:
    • In canon, the child Vaggie spared that caused her to be mutilated by Adam and Lute was a Sinner, specifically a child from Cannibal Town based on his clothes and pure black eyes. Here, the child Vaggie spared is explicitly called a Hellborn, who are supposed to be exempt from the Exterminations as per Lucifer's agreement, something Lute herself brought up in the first episode. This change not only retroactively makes Adam and Lute worse since they were blatantly breaking the rules and punished Vaggie for following the rules, but also is the final nail Sera needs to decide the next Extermination will be the last.
    • Contrary to the implication in canon that Cherri Bomb became a resident of the rebuilt Hazbin Hotel, here she's still not a guest, rather she just crashes there occasionally and is more just a close friend of the Hotel's.
  • Adult Adoptee: After accidently calling Carmilla "mama" while they're training, the Overlord all but adopts Vaggie.
  • Ascended Demon: As revealed in chapter 23, after a couple demons staying at the hotel die trying to defend Clara and Odette from the Gun Greed Gang after Alastor hires them to attack the Carmines, they are revealed to have ascended to Heaven.
  • Batman Gambit: Clara and Odette specifically wait until they're with Charlie to reveal that they're working on armor to protect Vaggie, knowing that she'd be too proud normally to accept it, but if Charlie says she likes it, Vaggie would no doubt accept if only to please her girlfriend.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Vaggie makes her return to the hotel in chapter 11 just in time to help defeat some of Valentino's minions.
  • Big Sister Instinct: Clara and Odette, after learning about how Lute and Adam mutilated Vaggie, get just as pissed off as Charlie, Carmilla, Zestial and Lucifer.
  • Bullying a Dragon: Alastor doesn't like being disrespected or people intruding on his territory, so when he learns Zestial is technically a resident of the Hotel now and mentoring Vaggie, and Carmilla is now a frequent visitor due to having adopted Vaggie, he tries to establish himself as top dog, with little success and nearly getting himself killed in both cases.
    • He tries to intimidate Zestial by highlighting how the Hotel is his venture too, and that he's the one in charge after Charlie. Zestial isn't having it though, and decides to test a theory of his regarding Vaggie's flames, inviting everyone to attend. As he guessed, her flames only hurt those she doesn't like, and that honor belongs exclusively to Alastor, resulting in him nearly burning to death, just as Zestial planned.
    • Alastor decides to get at Carmilla by targeting the Carmine family, specifically Odette and Clara, by sending the Gun Greed Gang to kill them, knowing they hold beef with the Carmines after they were run out of business, all while he personally kept Vaggie preoccupied. He didn't expect Charlie to show up on Razzle and buy enough time for Vaggie, Angel, Husk, and Carmilla to come in and save them. The only reason Alastor doesn't get killed for his little stunt when Zestial finds out is because Carmilla manages to calm him down before he goes berserk, while also informing him of how they already gave Alastor an ultimatum that Vaggie fully intends to enforce should he try again.
  • Commonality Connection: One of the things that Lucifer and Vaggie bond over is how much of a Crapsaccharine World Heaven is and, among other things, how most of the other angels were complete assholes.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Vaggie in her newfound demon form armed with angelic weapons versus of some of Valentino's goons. It's not even fair to call it a fight.
  • Delayed Reaction: It takes Vaggie a minute to realize she has an extra set of limbs after catching some plates that Niffty almost dropped.
  • Dramatic Irony: In a conversation between Zeezi and Clara in chapter 29, both of them talk about how the hotel seemingly has had no successful guests and debate whether or not it's actually worked. Readers already know that the hotel actually has had succeeded a couple times.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Alastor is immediately convinced that Zestial has to be working an angle with his training Vaggie, thinking he's manipulating her by preying on a need for a father figure to get his own bit of influence with the Hotel. Zestial isn't doing anything of the sort though, he genuinely considers Vaggie a daughter, aided by the fact Carmilla all but officially adopted her.
  • Exact Words: When Lucifer gets attacked by some exorcists, they point out that while the rules say that Hellborn are immune, Lucifer himself isn't a Hellborn.
  • Fridge Horror: In-Universe example. After Sera learns about why Vaggie never returned to Heaven, she wonders just how many other angels were "demoted" and she just never knew about it because all of them were killed after getting trapped in Hell.
  • Godzilla Threshold: Lucifer reveals to Sera that, now that he knows about Vaggie and why she became a Fallen Angel in the first place, if even so much as one Hellborn dies in the next extermination, Lucifer will slaughter every last exorcist with the snap of his fingers. Sera, knowing he's not kidding, along with the fact Charlie's hotel has been proven to work, is why she plans to end the exterminations all together.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Alastor is not happy when he learns that not one, but two other Overlords have taken up space in the hotel.
  • Foreshadowing: In the first chapter, Charlie notes that Vaggie's wings have gotten fluffier. It's an early sign that she's becoming a moth demon, as moths are known for having fluffy wings.
  • Happily Adopted:
    • Carmilla all but adopts Vaggie, who is more than happy to consider herself a member of the family.
    • Clara and Odette are also not Carmilla's bio daughters, instead being two girls she found during an extermination. Much like Vaggie, they are very happy to consider her their mother.
  • Heel–Face Turn: While calling her a villain is a stretch, Sera admits that her allowing the exterminations to happen was wrong, especially once she learns how utterly depraved Adam and Lute were, and fully intends to stop them following the upcoming one.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: This is officially revealed to be how a sinner becomes an Ascended Demon as, when several demons staying at the hotel all die when trying to save the Carmines from the Gun Greed Gang, they all ascend to Heaven.
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: Lute breaking the rule that prevents demons in buildings from being harmed causes just about every Overlord, the Vees included, to bust out their true demonic forms.
  • Letting Her Hair Down: Carmilla allows Zestial to let her hair down during an intimate moment between them during chapter 19.
  • Mama Bear: If Carmilla considers you her child, then she will go to any length to protect you. Her newest business venture is even revealed to be armor capable of resisting angelic weaponry simply because of how hurt Vaggie got during the last extermination. Additionally, when she learns just what Lute and Adam did to Vaggie, her plans change from "make sure Vaggie and co stay safe during the final extermination" to "make sure no angel is allowed to return to Heaven".
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: Vaggie's new demon form grants her an extra set of arms, allowing her to become even more dangerous since she can hold more weapons.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Sera already begins having doubts about continuing the exterminations, but upon hearing both about what Lute and Adam did to Vaggie as well as the fact they've been targeting Hellborns even though they specifically aren't allowed to be killed, she's utterly horrified, both at the exorcists and at herself for allowing it to get that bad.
  • My Instincts Are Showing: As the transformation progresses, Vaggie starts developing moth like traits, such as squeaking or being attracted to bright lights.
  • Mythology Gag: Vaggie is transforming into a moth demon, which is what she was supposed to be before the change was made to make her a Fallen Angel.
  • Neutral No Longer: Many Overlords, such as the Vees, were fully intending to stay neutral once again during the final extermination. Lute ordering the Exorcists to break the rule about attacking demons in buildings, however, causes them all to decide that, if the Exorcists want a fight, then a fight is what they are going to get.
  • Never My Fault:
    • As Sera is tearing into Lute for her needless bloodlust and slaughter of Hellborn that was supposed to be forbidden, Lute says that the Hellborn should have escaped to the lower rings and it's not her fault if a few get in the way.
    • Lute later reflects on how she wants to get revenge on Vaggie for betraying the exorcists, even though Lute mutilating her and abandoning her in Hell is what caused her to side against the exorcists in the first place.
  • Neck Snap: After realizing that the exorcists he was fighting only attacked him to keep him from helping Charlie and Vaggie and because of that, Vaggie is now on death's door, Lucifer coldly snaps the neck of the exorcist he was battling.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Valentino sending some of his goons to attack the hotel ultimately results in several of them deciding to give the hotel a shot after Charlie convinces Vaggie to spare them and reveals that food and rent is free. This, in turn, results in some of them ending up in Heaven following them getting killed trying to save Clara and Odette, further validating Charlie's idea.
  • Not in This for Your Revolution: While Zestial is considered a resident of the Hotel, he has no real interest in redeeming himself, nor does he fully believe anyone can be redeemed. His only reason for joining the Hotel is to help train Vaggie and spend time with his family, hence his decision to simply link his already existing abode to an empty room at the Hotel rather than simply move in.
  • Not So Above It All: Carmilla is just as excited to watch Vaggie beat the crap out of Valentino's goons as her daughters, even saying she'll have binoculars brought to them to watch.
  • Painful Transformation: Downplayed in that it's not painful, but Vaggie's antennae and extra limbs cause her to be extremely itchy before they finish coming in. The only part that ends up actually being painful is when Alastor forcefully grows out Vaggie's antennae.
  • Papa Wolf:
    • Lucifer, upon hearing that Vaggie had her wings forcefully ripped off by Lute, he mentions wanting to have a talk with the Sera in a tone that implies how pissed he is over what happened to her.
    • Zestial, upon learning that Clara and Odette got attacked due to Alastor's scheming, has to be stopped from ripping the deer demon apart on the spot.
  • Parental Substitute: On top of Carmilla, Zestial also becomes something of a father figure to Vaggie as he helps her control her newfound fire powers, Lucifer similarly becoming one as the two bond over their past experiences with Heaven.
  • Pass the Popcorn: When Vaggie heads to the hotel to defend it after Valentino attempts to attack, Clara, Odette and Carmilla all head to the roof of the warehouse to watch the show.
  • Playing with Fire: One of the powers from Vaggie's new demon form is fire breath. Through further testing, she and Zestial learn that her flames react differently based on how she feels about someone. To those she cares about like Charlie, Carmilla, or Angel, it acts as Healing Magic and doesn't burn them. To those she holds disdain for however, like Alastor, it acts as normal fire, if extremely hot, Alastor remarking to himself how its lucky he's even alive after getting engulfed in it.
  • Power Perversion Potential: One of the first thoughts Vaggie has about her extra set of arms is how much easier it will be to admire and touch Charlie's body.
  • Precision F-Strike: After Alastor discovers that not only did his attempted plot against the Carmines backfire, but it's also been traced back to him, he lets out a rather annoyed fuck.
  • Punch a Wall: After Sera rips into her for her bloodlust and killing of Hellborn even though it was against the rules, followed by revealing the next extermination will be the last one, Lute, who was hungry for some serious revenge, punches a wall in rage, while implying that she's fully planning on breaking those rules anyway even if she gets killed because of it.
  • Revenge Before Reason: Lute, during the final extermination, decides that she's going to kill as many Sinners as possible. To this end, she decides to order the exorcists to break the rule that spares demons in buildings. This only causes Overlords like the Vees, who were going to stay neutral, to get involved. Additionally, her wildly firing off beams of holy light kills just as many angels as demons and finally, her attempting to kill Charlie yet again breaks the rule that no Hellborn is allowed to targeted, meaning that even if Lute does survive, Sera will be told and will likely punish her.
  • Shipper on Deck:
    • Vaggie, Clara and Odette all ship their mother with Zestial, especially once they realize that Zestial considers his love for Carmilla to be fate.
    • Lucifer ships his daughter with Vaggie so much that he already considers Vaggie to be his future daughter in law.
  • Simple Solution Won't Work: When spitballing ideas to help the hotel, Angel suggests having Lucifer try to call in favors, only for Charlie to remind him that Lucifer's spent the last seven years as a recluse, so they have no idea if any of his old contacts are still available.
  • Taking the Bullet: Vaggie jumps in front of a sword Lute threw at Charlie during the final battle.
  • Tears of Joy: After learning about how the hotel considers him a hero, Sir Pentious nearly bursts into tears.
  • Took a Level in Cheerfulness: Several characters note that Vaggie has become way more cheerful and relaxed following her training with Zestial.
  • Trauma Button: Since Vaggie is undergoing a change into a moth demon, whenever she gets mad, it causes Angel Dust to have flashbacks about Valentino. Because of this, Vaggie makes the call to leave until her transformation is finished, and, in turn, grant herself the power to change back to her normal form, so that she doesn't cause him any more pain.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: Same sex variant, but on top of Vaggie's normal behavior towards Charlie, when Alastor forcefully grows out Vaggie's antennae, Husk and Angel Dust had to hold Charlie back, and it apparently wasn't easy.
  • We Need a Distraction: During the final extermination, several Exorcists attempt to attack Lucifer and, while they do genuinely want to try killing him, Lute knows they won't stand a chance and only wants them to keep him busy and ensure Lucifer isn't around to stop her from getting revenge on Vaggie and co.
  • Ye Olde Butcherede Englishe: As Vaggie trains more with Zestial, she begins speaking in a similar manner to him.
