Go To

The village was on fire.
Big surprise, right? This only happened oh, every week or so since he was born.
Not that he’d ever gotten to see it before.
Perk of being the Chief’s son; getting to live in a big fancy house.
Downside of being the Chief’s son; his father actually being able to afford good enough locks and to order villagers to guard the house to make sure he couldn’t leave.
He understood, he really did. His mother had been snatched by a dragon last year. It was hard to blame him for being a little… protective.
But he HAD to show Father he could protect himself! Could make the village proud.
Could handle dragons on his own.

Adrien just wants to prove he's tough enough for the Dragon Slayer class, to learn alongside the other teens instead of being copped up all the time.

Kagami's just trying to survive under the Queen's reign, like most other dragons.

But when Adrien sneaks out to try to take down a dragon, he sets off a chain of events that changes both their worlds.

Dragon Falls is a Miraculous Ladybug Fan Fic and How to Train Your Dragon crossover by Keyseeker and is ongoing.

Story has not been updated since November 2020 and is presumably abandoned.

Dragon Falls contains examples of:

  • Abusive Parents: Gabriel forgoes any subtlety and practically threatens Adrien to do as he says. Also accusing Adrien of not loving Emilie because he doesn't hate dragons as much as Gabriel does.
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade:
    • Played straight with Kagami who routinely has her free will taken away by the Queen.
    • Ironically subverted by Adrien, who might be better off simply because he had friends before Emilie was taken.
  • Adaptational Backstory Change:
    • Technically averted by Adrien. His mother still disappeared a year ago and his father still prioritizes his work over his only family.
    • Played straight with Kagami who has a much darker past as one of the dragons under the Queen's control.
  • Adaptational Species Change: Kagami and her mother are both literal dragons. As well as, Nino, Juleka, and Ivan.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Emilie was carried off by a dragon a year before the start of the story. While everyone, including Adrien, believes she's likely dead the discovery of dragons' ability to talk sparks his hope of finding out what exactly happened.
  • Big Bad: The unnamed Queen of the dragons forces them to raid human settlements using her mind control.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: The Queen has the ability to control other dragons. Reducing them to unthinking, animalistic beings who can't even speak while under her orders.
  • Domestic Abuse: Gabriel verbally and emotionally dismissed Emilie before she was carried away by dragons.
  • Dramatic Dislocation: One of Kagami's wing joints is knocked loose when Adrien collapses a building on her. He's also the one who puts it back in place, allowing her to start healing.
  • Eye Scream: Kagami's mother was blinded by the Queen for rebelling against her.
  • Fire Means Chaos: Justified considering all the fire-breathing dragons attacking the village.
  • Follow Your Nose: Kagami finds Adrien once by following the scent of the smoked fish he's carrying.
  • Food and Animal Attraction: Kagami points out that she's not the only one in the forest who can smell the fish Adrien carries, much to his embarrassment.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Max is this, as he invented his own glasses and the net canon they use to bring down the other dragons.
  • Game Changer: When Kagami reveals herself to Adrien and Alya, demanding to know why he didn't kill her. Surprising both humans with the fact that most dragons can talk and the only reason they raid the village is because they're forced to by the Queen.
  • High on Catnip: A certain, unnamed type of grass made Kagami giddy. With prolonged exposure, or ingestion, resulting in sleep. It was used to calm the dragons the young Berkians brought down as they were still under the Queen's control.
  • Impossibly Delicious Food: At least Kagami seems to think so. Justified since she's never tasted cooked food before.
  • Inciting Incident: Adrien sneaks out during a dragon raid to prove to his father that he has what it takes. And while he manages to injure Kagami's wing, preventing her from flying off, he can't bring himself to kill her.
  • Inspiration Nod: When Kagami regurgitates the fish Adrien brought her as a show of friendship. Thankfully, he manages to talk her out of making him eat it without insulting her.
  • Interspecies Friendship: Kagami slowly grows closer to Adrien and the others.
  • Interspecies Romance: According to Word of God, Adrien and Kagami will end up in one eventually.
  • Like Father, Unlike Son: Gabriel is a controlling, demanding, overbearing jerk while Adrien is kind, empathetic, respectful, and reasonable.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Gabriel, see above.
  • Mythology Gag: Jahlil's conspiracy theories are mentioned in a few chapters.
  • Odd Name Out: While all the characters have diverse names, including the dragons, the strangest is still Gorilla.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: Just as diverse as the ones from the films, dragons come in all shapes and sizes. Kagami herself has electricity and water, not just fire, as part of her arsenal.
  • Picky Eater: Apparently the Queen sends her dragons to raid human settlements because her favorite food is sheep. As several characters pointed out this is highly inefficient due to the humans' tendency to fight back and the ease with which other food is available.
  • Prefers Raw Meat: Dragons usually eat their food raw but, if Kagami's reaction to cooked food is any indication, they don't actually prefer it.
  • Pregnant Reptile: Why the Queen spared Kagami's mother, as she had yet to lay her egg.
  • Tastes Like Friendship: The reason Adrien was carrying a smoked fish in the middle of the forest in the first place.
