An Era of Restoration is a The Legend of Zelda fanfic set in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild that asks one important question.
The end result is a highly captivating story as the five characters interact with not just themselves, but the world around them as they try to find out about what had happened to Hyrule in their absence, as well as who they were, on top of taking on the challenges that Hyrule beholds for them.
The story is completed, but the author is rewriting it due to dissatisfaction with the original version.

This fanfic provides examples of:
- Adaptational Badass:
- The Blood Moon in the game merely resurrected all monsters slain. In the story, it's a full-blown case of giving the monsters immortality as long as the Blood Moon is up.
- The dragons. In game, they merely flew around and were merely used to mine for materials. Here, they can stop Blood Moons from rising.
- Amnesia Danger: Urbosa is the only one of the group who doesn't know about her powers while the others do it by instinct. She had to be reminded by Purah before she could do it again.
- Amnesiac Hero: Besides Link, all the Champions rise from the shrine lacking memory of anything but their own names.
- Bad Moon Rising: The Blood Moon.
- Badass in Distress: The dragons are all corrupted by Malice.
- Break His Heart to Save Him: Link decides that he simply cannot accept Mipha's marriage proposal at the end of the Vah Ruta arc, not with all the pressures he's dealing with.
- Deadpan Snarker: Urbosa.
- Does Not Know His Own Strength: Daruk ends up knocking out Revali and Link while breaking up an argument between the two.
- Eat Dirt, Cheap: Daruk, as a Goron, can eat rocks, but he has to be reminded of this by the Old Man.
- G-Rated Drug: Daruk drinks an elixir given to him from a shady dealer to make him feel well enough to fight. The end result is Daruk becoming shouty and airheaded.
- The Gadfly: Urbosa will make sure that she gets a laugh from the others being awkward.
- Hit Me, Dammit!: Daruk has his fellow Gorons hit him to prove that he's alive and well. He actually asks for another one, goading them to try harder.
- Heroic Sacrifice: general Vincen leads a group of knights in battle against the guardians to buy time for link to get Zelda to safety and for Mipha to be brought to the shrine of resurrection.
- Let's Split Up, Gang!: The group, as of the time of this writing, has had to split up twice.
- The first was around the Vah Ruta arc, when Daruk fell ill and the rains from Vah Ruta would've messed up Revali's flying, forcing Urbosa, Mipha and Link to carry on without them. They eventually rejoin, though Link and Mipha were in Vah Ruta.
- The second was when Daruk and Link had to travel to Death Mountain to take on Vah Rudania alone, thanks to an aversion to Convection, Schmonvection, leaving Mipha, Revali and Urbosa to handle a separate matter.
- Missing Mom: Mipha's mother dies in a flashback. Mipha herself is not happy to have witnessed it.
- Near-Death Experience: Revali very nearly avoided bleeding out during the first Blood Moon thanks to Link putting a tourniquet on his injured wing.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: King Dorephen notes that Link makes all of his decisions with utmost conviction. The only exception is when he decided not to marry Mipha, which convinces Dorephen to give Link an ultimatum; accept or reject her proposal for real up to a month after Calamity Ganon is slain.
- Survivor Guilt: Link and Revali both have this, only made worse by their amnesia making it hard to figure out how they failed.
- Team Chef: Link takes up this role, due to being one of the few who can understand cooking.
- Team Pet: The group adopts a wolf, naming it Midna.
- The Tease: Urbosa.
- Undignified Death: Link briefly wondered if he'd go down in legend as having been killed in a group hug. Granted, the huggers were all Gorons, but still.
- What the Hell, Hero?: A monk calls out Revali for abandoning Link during a trial, stating that if he can't work with the others as a team, then Hyrule is doomed.
