Breaking Routine

Two Arrancar and a simple decision to break the routine of everyday life in Las Noches. The chain of events that followed that one action was beyond the wildest imaginations of everyone involved. After all, how could an arrancar come to love a human?
Currently dormant at 19 chapters and 162,390 words, with the author planning to return to writing it at some time.
Breaking Routine provides examples of:
- Adaptational Heroism: Most of the Espada and their Fraccion pull a Heel–Face Turn and join Ichigo after witnessing just how little Aizen cares about his subordinates.
- Adaptational Nice Guy: Loly is much nicer towards other people than canon thanks to Ichigo's Positive Friend Influence, though she does have a bout of jealousy when she meets Orihime.
- Batman Gambit: Harribel and Starrk appeal to Barragan's Pride and hatred towards Aizen in order to get the Segunda Espada to join them in defecting. He joins them and even helps buy time for Ichigo and Grimmjow to escape when Ulquiorra intercepts them.
- Battle Harem: Just about all of Ichigo's girlfriends are Action Girls capable of holding their own in combat.
- Big Damn Heroes: Starrk, Barragan, and Harribel arrive at Las Noches to hold off Ulquiorra when he intercepts Ichigo and Grimmjow during their attempt to escape from las Noches.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: Loly and Menoly display some jealously when they meet Orihime (though not to the extent they do in canon) for being a perceived threat towards their relationship with Ichigo, with Menoly displaying it less overtly than Loly does.
- Energy Absorption: Ichigo can supply his own reisatsu to bolster the reserves of those sparring against him as long as their power level is below his.
- For Want Of A Nail:
- Loly and Menoly decides to explore the living world, running into Ichigo and kickstarting the plot.
- Ichigo starts taming his inner Hollow much earlier after it nearly kills Loly and Menoly during their fight.
- Harem Genre: To an extent.
- Heel–Face Turn: With the exceptions of Ulquiorra, Nnoitra, Zommari, and Yammy, most of the Arrancar under Aizen's command eventually defect from Aizen to side with Ichigo.
- Interspecies Romance: Ichigo is part human, part Shingami, part Quincy, and part Hollow while his girlfriends are Arrancars.
- Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: Aizen ordering Loly and Menoly to kill Ichigo despite their love for him provides the Espada with the impetus needed to join forces and jump ship to Ichigo's side.
- Narm: In-Universe example. Ichigo's opinion on the horror movie he watches with Loly and Menoly is that while it had plenty of Gorn, it just lacked any lasting impact.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Ichigo's decides to train with the Vizards in order to control his inner Hollow after it nearly kills Loly and Menoly.
- Shipper on Deck: Apacci is supportive of Loly and Menoly's relationship with Ichigo, with Harribel joining in when Apacci and Sang-sun join the relationship.
- Strength Equals Worthiness: Grimmjow fights Ichigo in Karakura Town to gauge his strength and see if he can be of actual help for the plan of the Espadas.
- Worthy Opponent: Ggio and Grimmjow view Ichigo as someone who's strong enough to make them take their fights seriously.
- Xanatos Gambit: Aizen orders Loly and Menoly to assassinate Ichigo after finding out about their liaisons with him so he can eliminate the potential liability they pose to his plans by either having them kill the man they've grown to love, die in the attempt, or have both severely demoralized if neither of them die.
- You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Aaroniero joins the other Espada in defecting due to his fear that arrancars and Hollows alike could face extinction in the event Aizen decides that they're no longer of use to him.Aaroniero: Aizen will damn the Arrancar if he reaches his goal. He has already sentenced several Hollows and Arrancar to their deaths to simply prove to us that he is stronger than us. When we are no longer of any use to him, I fear that nothing will stop him from completely eradicating Hollows. To prevent the collapse of the universe, it would be in my best interest to assist you in your plans.
