- Brother–Sister Incest: Queen has unrequited feelings for Knight, because nobody taught them the squick about incest and the dangers of inbreeding.
- Eldritch Abomination: Flying Polyps are what cause Annabeth and Will to become heavily abusive.
- Hate Plague: By the end of the first arc, it is clear that Annabeth (and possibly Will) are under this, affecting their relationships with their respective boyfriends. It is confirmed when Hestia removes a type of soul parasite from Will Solace in Camp Half-Blood. It is also removed from Annabeth by Eurybia in Tartarus. Word of God says that it is a Flying Polyp.
- I Have Many Names: Hestia tells Paul that she's had countless names, and even she no longer knows many of them.Hestia: “I’ve had countless names throughout the ages, Paul Blofis. Many of which are lost even to me."
- One of her titles is given as 'The Watcher of Mankind'. Word of God says that it is believed that she once went under the name Tabiti.
