Dummied Out / Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach

Go To

  • Data was found in the game related to a "Vanny Meter", which would have spawned Vanny into an area if a player stayed there for too long. While initially appearing to be bugged and non-functional, Steel Wool confirmed that the mechanic itself had been scrapped during development. Enough functionality remains, however, to determine it worked in an unused Survival Mode, which has difficulty settings, hour-length settings, and lives settings. And while it cannot yet spawn Vanny, it can turn Vanessa into Vanny. The exception to this is in the Daycare Room, where using cheats to prevent the power outage and remaining in the daycare too long will spawn Vanny to the player's location.
    • Survival Mode was considered to reappear in Ruin, due to an unused map that has Cassie collect a gift, then fix a glitch, being shown a victory screen afterwards revealing that this is a rudimentary attempt to reimplent Survival Mode.
  • There are many unused lines for Vanessa, one of them having her claim that it won't end like last time. Many of these unused lines better match her kinder personality from the PS5 trailer than the more aggressive personality she displays in the game itself.
  • The S.T.A.F.F. bots (both the normal and "sewer" ones) have scrapped lines. The most notable are a Sewer Bot asking for help, a normal/"sentry" both claiming that they always come back, and a conversation between a "Mom Bot" and "Dad Bot" (possibly the magician-clothed S.T.A.F.F. bot and Ballora-colored S.T.A.F.F. bot in the sticky note room) where the Dad Bot reveals he left his job due to being "compelled to," and the Mom Bot subsequently chooses to divorce him. Many unused voicelines also show the S.T.A.F.F. bots (including the Map Bot) were meant to use a more human-sounding text-to-speech voice for their existing lines. The male variant of these is unused, but the female variant can be heard when stunning any S.T.A.F.F. bot (as their warning to suspend your membership). The unused unique model for the Comedy Bot was eventually made usable in the game at last, with the Magician Bot joining it in the Fazbear Theater.
  • There is also a scrapped mission involving a boiler room and a frozen Endoskeleton. Dialogue between Freddy and Gregory, as well as the endo's model, can be found in the game files. This actually was meant to be how Gregory acquired the Faz-Cam, taking it from the endoskeleton by heating up a boiler room to free it (despite Freddy's warnings). The parts for the frozen endo were shoved into a box that can be seen in the office Gregory hides in at the start of the game.
  • There's a character gallery that can be accessed through the game files. That said, it lacks a few characters.
  • A message found in-game alludes to Chica's Feeding Frenzy being an active minigame, yet it cannot be played with, unlike the other playable arcade games. The minigame in question is unused in the files, but capable of being played, though it is still very incomplete with placeholder sphere models. It is eventually reused for the Ruin DLC in a now-completed state.
  • Another cut minigame is actually just extra levels of one already present. Several cut levels for Monty's Gator Golf were found in the game files, but are fully functionable if played, though one has blank textures. All of the cut levels were featured in the Ruin DLC, albeit modified to fit the game's AR environments.
  • Two of Roxanne's animations (vent_jump and vent_land) imply she would be able to ambush Gregory through vents in certain areas, but neither animation is used in the game.
  • Moon has an emissive texture that, when set to more than 0, basically makes the pale part of its face, part of its arms, and the stars on its pants glow. The emissive texture never goes above 0 in-game.
  • The game also contains strings of text implying that difficulty settings were considered once, specifically Easy, "Med", and Nightmare.
  • Old dialogue left in code reveals that some of the dialogue was toned down in the final release to tone down several mentions of Gregory getting physically hurt. For example, Gregory originally said that Vanessa was going to kill him (not just "get" him, as in the final release), and, instead of Freddy discovering that Gregory is somehow broken, Freddy would have sensed that Gregory was bleeding while inside of Freddy and that Gregory had badly cut his arm while traversing the vents. There is also dialogue hinting he could've likely become an enemy in one route, as the dialogue used for Freddy sounds very hurt, as well as dialogue telling the other animatronics to fight off Vanny's influence.
  • Old environments originally featured in trailers (like the larger Mexican restaurant or the larger kitchen area), along with character animations from trailers (Moon crawling in said kitchen, and the teaser animations for Moon, DJ Music Man, and Vanny in Freddy & Friends: On Tour!), have also been found in the files.
  • Other unused voicelines known include Vanny's various forms of Evil Laugh, the Daycare Attendant threatening to put Gregory in time out (not just as Moon, but as Sun), Roxy counting down for a race and shouting in anger at her eyes being taken from her, a loudspeaker Freddy voice at Fazer Blast that sounds extremely cheerful (prompting Freddy to say it is a recording and ask if he is too annoying), Chica having other voicelines for finding Gregory, Freddy saying things from the ending scenes, like revealing his finger lighter is for lighting candles, as well as questioning Gregory about Vanny, and Gregory making a questioned Ironic Echo of Vanny's "Are you having fun yet?". Freddy's Fazer Blast loudspeaker announcement, along with a voiceline that played in the elevator, plus his sheepish remarks to them, were eventually added back into the game.
  • There also exist a number of lines from Freddy, saying ominous things to Gregory in a distorted tone about "finding him." This implies that at one point in development Freddy was intended to succumb to Vanny's or Afton's influence and begin actively hunting the player alongside the other animatronics, possibly during the Final Battle. The voicelines themselves were only able to be found in the files of a leaked prototype of the game. In the final product, the audio files were completely removed with only the subtitles for them remaining in the files. You can listen to them all in this video.
  • Hacking the Fazerblaster or Faz Camera into the game for when Vanessa roams Rockstar Row, and using them on her, reveals she has a stun animation despite the fact that the sequence where she is present there takes place prior to when each item is legitimately acquired. She even blinks her eyes rapidly in response to being stunned, similar to what the Instructor Bot said anyone hit by the Fazerblaster would have to do.
  • Just like Five Nights at Freddy's AR: Special Delivery, there were supposed to be a bunch of "Faz-Facts" that would have played while in the elevator. Strangely enough, one of them claims that bears went extinct. The Faz-Facts were officially added to the game in an update.
  • Unused textures show Glamrock Chica originally had a striped guitar, like depicted in one of the early trailers for the game. This was changed to its current design later on, but the hologram in the atrium still has the old guitar.
  • It turns out that the memetic "Giga Monty" may have been an intended mechanic after all, just a removed one. When Astral Spiff, the original discoverer of Giga Monty, explored a beta version of the game, he discovered that the spotlight Monty mans was originally going to teleport him down from his perch if it spotted Gregory, with the exact same mindless unstoppable AI as the present-day Giga Monty. It would also turn all hiding places intangible to guarantee he would kill Gregory.
  • In the Ruin DLC's files, a character model for a purple rabbit with a skeleton-like appearance can be seen with animations for it being completed. Due to its color, it's implied to be an earlier version of the M.X.E.S. program encountered in the final version.
  • Several beta versions of locations in Ruin have been found in the game files for the various locations seen in the final DLC, all of which have placeholder textures, and map layouts that either hinted at a different order of events or are even very disorganized at the point in which they were designed.
    • One unused map for Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place in Ruin features Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica using their Five Nights At Freddys VR Help Wanted models, suggesting Cassie would have seen them in a brief cameo appearance here.
    • Another unused map for Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place revealed that at some point, due to the presence of placeholder textures designating breakable wall areas, the Mimic was planned to break through walls in order to pursue Cassie, similar to how some of the enemy Glamrock Animatronics do so in-game.
  • Text in the code of Ruin near the three implemented endings is text for an unused fourth ending, hinted to be an ending in which the animatronics were to be repaired.
  • In the Normal ending of Ruin, there's an unused line for Gregory right above his used dialogue where he says, "[...]but make sure it doesn't follow you." Whether this was a hold-over from an earlier version of the ending or something else is unclear.
  • A few unused music tracks can be found in the base game. One unused track in the files is "Snap! Goes the SFinal Chord!", a remix of "Venta Black" from Sister Location. Another unused track is a remix of "High Score" from Ultimate Custom Night. Ruin also included a few tracks that were left unused, such as "Are You There?", a space-sounding track most likely meant for Fazer Blast, and "I Remember", a somber, more emotional track that would have accompanied Cassie tearfully deactivating Roxy.
  • Glamrock Bonnie was originally planned to speak to Cassie, using voicelines given to Eclipse in the final release.
