Deadly Dodging in Fan Works.

Crossovers
  • Aberration: The Simurgh employs this tactic fairly frequently, using it against Star Spawn, Eidolon, and Artificer.
  • Amazing Fantasy has a quick and terribly brutal form of this. One of the Rocket Racers liked to use his Cool Board to slam his fist into people's faces at 60 miles an hour. After taking a number of these punches, Peter decides to lean on a wall and goads the Villain into attacking him. Predictably, Peter jumps out of the way just as they're about to collide, mangling Rocker Racer's fingers after his fist goes through the wall.
  • Beyond the Outer Gate Lies...: Harry escapes from Georg's Pocket Dimension with a set of missiles still pursuing him, discovering that Kuoh Academy is being attacked by the Old Maou faction. He then runs up to the closest enemy he sees, dodging so that the attack that was meant for him hits them instead.
  • A Bridge Once Broken: Eliatropes and Loki both favor this style of fighting, tricking their opponents into hurting themselves while attempting to hurt them.
  • Dark Titans: Ranma does this during a fight with Mecha-Boi, as he was busy giving Raven some relationship advice at the time.
  • Mischief: Midoriya maneuvers Bakugou and Kirishima into attacking his clones, which dodge away and cause them to attack each other instead.
  • The Night Unfurls: Kyril accomplishes this in Chapter 16 of the original, ducking underneath the mad swings of a Giant Mook that takes out its smaller friends.
  • White Devil of the Moon: While Miyuki's mundane weapons can't kill the youma, she's able to bait Queen Beryl into hitting them with their magical attacks.
  • The Wild Horse Thesis has an unintentional variant when Ranma returns to Nerima. Mousse and Ryoga team up, with Ryoga attempting to hold his rival in place while Mousse launches shuriken at them... but Ranma manages to avoid being struck. Turns out that Mousse had treated the projectiles with poison, resulting in Ryoga's death.
  • In World of Ponycraft, there's an achievement for tricking Blooddriver into squashing his minions during his boss fight.

Amphibia

  • A Moth to a Flame: While suffering from double vision due to Anne striking him in the head during their fight, King Andrias attempts to stab Sasha. She evades the blow, causing him to accidentally stab Marcy instead.

The DCU

  • Hellsister Trilogy: When Satan Girl is about to hurl Supergirl into an antimatter sun, Kara uses her momentum against her to throw her into the star instead.

Danganronpa

  • In Despair's Last Resort, the third murder happens when Shizuka stumbles upon Shigeru and Naomi plotting a double murder, at which point they decide to kill her to protect their secret. Naomi grabs Shizuka, and Shigeru tries to hit Shizuka with the shovel, but Shizuka ducks, causing him to kill Naomi instead. Monokuma uses this to suggest that Shizuka killed both victims, not just Shigeru.
Monokuma: By all technicalities, Shigeru murdered Naomi. But Naomi only died because Shizuka tried to duck. She knew where the shovel would hit if she did that, so you could also say she killed both of them!

Mega Man

  • Limitless Potential: X dodges a mechaniloid and causes it to crash into the Armored Soldiers who were surrounding him.

Miraculous Ladybug

  • Hop to It: Rabbit baits Road Rage into charging her before leaping up and bouncing off his helmet, causing him to crash into a tree.

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

  • A Burning Flame In My Soul: While fighting a group of dragon assassins, Ember hears one nocking a crossbow behind her. She ducks at the last second to dodge the shot; her opponent in that moment wasn't as lucky, taking the bolt right in their neck.
  • The Great Alicorn Hunt: Malfunziona baits Apple Bloom's griffin guard into charging him when he's standing in front of a wall, then steps aside and lets the guard crash into it, knocking himself out.
  • Stroll: While dealing with a bandit attack in Rolling, Octavia bends over to check on one of her downed opponents and ensure that he's still alive. This conveniently causes another who was attempting to tackle her to miss and hit another.

My Hero Academia

  • Blood and bones and heroism: Inko used this to hold her own during a Bar Brawl, taking down half of the patrons with a mixture of this and clever usage of her Quirk. This wound up impressing All Might enough that they bought her a drink, which led to Izuku's conception.
  • Leviathan: Tsuyu tricks Katsuki and Shouto in this fashion during a mock battle, dodging their attempts to hit her in ways that cause them to hit each other instead.
  • Live a Hero: After not being allowed to bring his knifes into U.A.'s Entrance Exam, Izuku compensates for their absence by spending the whole exam ducking, dodging, and weaving around the robots. This enables him to bring down the Zero-Pointer by tricking all of the other robots into concentrating their fire upon it, leaving Uraraka wondering if his Quirk makes him some kind of master strategist.
  • Mastermind: Strategist for Hire: Izuku employs this against Rappa, dodging his attacks at the last second so he hits his allies.
  • Think Before You Speak: During their first training exercise together, Izuku manages to avoid Bakugou's attempt to blast him. Unfortunately, the attack hits Tenya instead, seriously injuring Bakugou's partner.
  • With Confidence: Izuku employs this during the Entrance Exam, taking out a pair of Three-Pointers by standing between the robots and dodging at the last second.

Naruto

  • Kitsune no Ken: Fist of the Fox: When Kiba challenges Naruto to a fight in a misguided bid to "defend Hinata's honor", Naruto doesn't want to risk the wrath of Kiba's mother. So rather than fighting him directly, he tricks Kiba into hurting himself by dodging his attacks. When Tsume finds out, she notes that Naruto "wasn't as stupid as certain anime fillers would have portrayed him to be."
  • Memories Of Others: Sakura baits Kiba and Akamaru into crashing into each other while they're both coming at her with Gatsuga.

Neon Genesis Evangelion

  • Rise of the Minisukas: When the team is fighting both Sandalphon and Baraqijal, Asuka provokes the former into attacking her. When Baraqijal shoots a lance of acid at her as she is grappling with Sandalphon, Asuka pivots her body, putting Sandalphon between her and its partner's corrosive projectile. The acid lance strikes Sandalphon in the back, melting its stone armor and exposing his vulnerable core.

One Piece

  • This Bites!: When Cross insults Bellamy to get him to spring at him full-speed, he hits the floor so that Bellamy ends up crashing into Mr. 13 who's chasing him from behind.

Pokémon

  • Pokémon Reset Bloodlines features a few instances:
    • In the Clemont Gaiden, while he's trapped inside Belmondo's van, Clemont tricks the sentinel robot into attacking him so it breaks open the van's doors, allowing him to get out.
    • During the Indigo League in the main story, Gary's Porygon uses Lock-On and then fires a Thunderbolt at Paul's Cloyster. The lightning chases Cloyster all over the field, forcing them to pull this trope to win the bout (and just barely, at that).

Star Wars

  • The Will of the Empire: During the free-for-all that Piett's Decapitation Strike on the Imperial leadership devolves into, Lumiya sidesteps a thrown vibroblade which stabs Ars Dangor instead while he tries to sneak up on her with a garrote.

Touhou Project

  • This is how Eirinnote  kills Tewi in the doujin The Silence of the Rabbits during her battle with Reisen, setting up one of her attacks in such a way that if Reisen dodges it, it'll hit Tewi instead.

Worm

  • Are You Afraid of the Dark?: In order to escape the pursuing Hookwolf, Danny makes a sharp turn on his motorbike that Hookwolf can't quite follow, causing his pursuer to hit another vehicle.
  • In Intrepid, Taylor does this quite often. Anyone shooting at her is more likely to hit her enemies than actually hit her.

Young Justice

  • With This Ring: Paul uses his power ring to dodge a shot from one of Mongul's ships, which then goes on to hit another ship, and pleased by that result, Paul tells the ring to try to make it happen again.
Ring: That utility was already included in calculations.
    Paul: Oh. Well done.
