Altador Cup: Tumblr Edition is a blog-based roleplay that began in 2013. It follows the adventures of current and former Yooyuball players as they fight for the Cup. In addition to blogging about their experiences, the players have many interactions offline ranging from mundane to supernatural.

As of 2019, no trace of the roleplay can be found.

Altador Cup: Tumblr Edition contains examples of:

    open/close all folders
    General
  • Anti-Villain: Filo Desenz genuinely does believe his actions are justified and for the better of Team Maraqua.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Don't misspell Teylore Nix's name as 'Teylore.' It's one of the few things that can set him off.
    • Don't make a Xana De Lanche joke.
    • Tormo has a few of these: Don't imply he can't do something because of his stature, don't hurt his friends, and, for the love of Darigan, DON'T MESS WITH HIS GOALIE.
  • Black Widow: Chelo Binay has been through her fair share of husbands throughout her long life, and is implied to have killed at least a few of them.
  • Brainless Beauty: Many characters find Rinok Fitel to be very attractive, though his intelligence leaves much to be desired.
  • Butt-Monkey:
    • Larcy Phu, practically to Cosmic Plaything extents. He's trying to change his ways so karma doesn't attack him as often, but it seems to be deeply infatuated with the Grundo, anyways. Must be the mustache.
    • Teylor Nix. He has a tendency to to find himself the target of many derogatory insults and gets caught in humiliating situations quite often.
    • Xana DiLanche is pretty well-liked, but is the butt of a lot of "Xana de lanche" and "accordion" jokes. Her name means something dirty in Portuguese, and her official artwork shows her being very tall, while the art when a goal is scored on her uses optical illusion to make her look frighteningly short in comparison.
    • Elon and Montecito are hated by a lot of the players for their more aggressive personalities, thus getting bashed many times by the other players, and receiving a higher number of trolling and magic anons.
    • Rinok Fitel is often made fun of and gets hit with snide commentary from the other players very frequently, as everyone generally regards him as an idiot.
  • Embarrassing Middle Name:
    • Elon Marina Hughlis.
    • Selwick Wigglewumper Phoss and Jurin Tiddiesworth Takara. It's interesting to observe that both are distant cousins through their unfortunate-named families.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: Elon has many, like "Elope", "Hug", "Melon", and "Shorty Mc Shortshorts".
  • Genius Bruiser: Harlis Neyhbol may be huge, but he also has a degree in Psychology and is readily available to diagnose some of the less stable players.
  • Inexplicably Identical Individuals: In this roleplay, instead of being a single blue Techo, the Techo Fanatic is, in reality, eighteen siblings who look identical, only differing in personality and team.
  • Living Forever Is Awesome: Chelo Binay's outlook on her life is generally very cheery, to the point that she doesn't quite understand why others wouldn't want to be immortal.
  • Love Triangle:
    • VERY early on in Altador Cup VIII there was one involving Larcy, Kep, and Tormo, and a while later another with Mirsha, Larcy, and Timu. Fun times, huh?
    • Keetra and Sela are in a committed relationship, and Derlyn had a crush on Sela. It gets complicated when it turns out that Keetra has a crush on Derlyn.
    • Another attempt at a love triangle between Mirsha, Larcy, and Timu may be here. Larcy likes Timu, but he thinks Timu likes Mirsha. Mirsha admits that Timu isn't her type, though.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Reb and Montecito have been using anonymous messages to incite conflict within other teams. They've had mixed success.
  • Married to the Job: Elon Hughlis, to the point that he even states '[his] only love is yooyuball.'
  • Only Sane Man: Osielle Lidel is one of the few characters who don't seem to have some sort of weird quirk about them, and often shoots down anything that sounds overly absurd or ridiculous.
  • Plucky Comic Relief:
    • Teylor Nix, he constantly stays upbeat and jokes around quite a bit- even when other players voice their dislike of him.
    • Bertie Shurtz, too, (Mystery Island is just a jokey team I guess?) usually making horrible jokes, keeping energy up, and sometimes parodies hot-blooded anime protagonists. Nobody really takes her seriously, although she does get into fights sometimes.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Chelo Binay must be at least around a century old, but doesn't look a day over her mid-fifties.
  • Shrinking Violet: Timu, to a certain extent. She has her moments of bravery, but she's mostly a stuttering, shy lass who'd rather not see any conflicts whatsoever.
  • The Speechless:
    • Jurin is unable to speak offline.
    • And so is Kayn. His voicebox became defective after being used for such a long while.
  • Supreme Chef: Filo is aiming to become this. He's mostly successful. He was also the Team Chef back when he played for Maraqua, but his former teammates seem to be lukewarm about his cooking at best.
  • True Companions: It's rare for a character to get attacked/insulted and not have at least one teammate come to their defense. Unless said teammates are the ones doing the insulting.

    Altador Cup VIII
Tropes specific to the 2013 AC season.
  • Cool Bike: Wan Dirx and Krell Vitor's preferred method of transportation around the Haunted Woods was a light pink scooter.
  • Hell Hotel: The hotel where the players were staying at became this after Montecito tricked Oten into reading the Necronomicon.
  • The Peeping Tom: Autrey Fulse was kicked off team Haunted Woods for using his ghostly powers to spy on nearly every girl in the cup, among other things.
  • Yandere: Lyvon Cibaire for Foltaggio, though they weren't dating. He sent horrible anons to Derlyn, Foltaggio's girlfriend at the time, to try and get her to commit suicide so he could have Foltaggio to himself.

    Altador Cup IX
Tropes specific to the 2014 AC season.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Though Elon Hughlis is still a jerk, he's certainly calmed down a bit after his constant shoutfests from the last season.
  • Tyrant Takes the Helm: Selwick's aunt, Sollarania, became Faerieland's new manager during Cup IX. She has been allegedly overtraining her players. Initially, they did fairly well, but the results were shown as inefficient at its best. Could eventually become a Baitand Switch Tyrant, if Character Development rolls on.
