    Diabellstar / Sinful Spoils

Diabellstar the Black Witch is a Level 7 DARK Spellcaster monster with 2500 ATK/2000 DEF that debuted in Age of Overlord. She supports and is supported by the "Sinful Spoils" archetype, a group of Spell and Trap Cards based on a variety of cursed artifacts that give Diabellstar great power. She opposes the "Snake-Eye" archetype, one of the many Sinful Spoils that she seeks.
  • Amazonian Beauty: According to the concept art, this is humorously defied. Diabellstar herself regularly work out, or rather, tries to as one of her sinful spoils would much rather want her to remain soft and lean and thus "helps out" whenever she tries to exercise, much to her apparent annoyance.
  • Anti-Magic: Diabellze of the Original Sin can stop the opponent from activating any Spells and Traps unless they were previously Set. She's also capable of targeting and destroying any two cards on the field (one for each player) if a Spell or Trap is Set to any field.
  • The Beastmaster:
  • Clingy Macguffin: According to Diabellstar's concept art, the Sinful Spoils remain attached even after taking off her clothes.
  • Cool Mask: Diabellstar's face is half-covered by an oni-themed red mask, which is called Omen in her concept art. Said mask winds up in the hands of Diabellze alongside Snake-Eyes Poplar when she arrives to crash the party.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: She is Diabellstar the Black Witch, is DARK attribute, and is a Hero with Bad Publicity who uses a collection of cursed treasures to defeat her foes, but she appears to be fighting for the greater good by opposing even greater threats than herself.
  • De-power: Almost as soon as Snake-Eyes Poplar upgrades itself by absorbing the magical power of Goblins' Crazy Beast, Diabellze arrives and quells it using her own Sinful Spoil, causing Poplar to revert back to its base form.
  • Dork Knight: Despite her rather malevolent design, whenever Diabellstar isn't "on the job", she comes off as anything but a terror, with art showing her getting exasperated at the Goblin Riders or drooling in her sleep. Tellingly, her appearance in the Chronicles animation depicts her as such.
  • Fairy Companion: Diabellstarr gains one after quelling Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon in the form of Snake-Eyes Poplar, implied to be a downgraded form of Flamberge Dragon. It subsequently gets kidnapped by the Goblin Riders when they confront her in pursuit of her bounty during the events of Snake-Eye Dramatic Chase, and after Diabellze intervenes in their fight she soon takes Poplar for herself.
  • Gameplay and Story Integration: Sinful Spoils of Doom - Rciela shows Diabellstar using the eponymous artifact to destroy Snake-Eye Ash, Oak and Birch. Gameplay-wise, this is exactly what would happen if this card was played and its second effect was activated as all of these monsters have ATK lower than Diabellstar's own - even when factoring the 1100 ATK granted by their archetypal field spell - leading to their ATK being reduced to 0 followed by their destruction.
  • Hammerspace: According to her concept art, Diabellstar carries around a backpack that can contain all sorts of things.
  • Hell-Bent for Leather: According to her concept art, her boots are made of leather and metallic parts.
  • Hero with Bad Publicity: WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils shows that Diabellstar has a wanted poster of her for an enormous sum of cash.
  • Light Is Not Good: Diabellze is LIGHT-Attribute, wears almost nothing but white, and is a rival to Diabellestar at best—or an outright archenemy at worst.
  • Magic Knight: In addition to fighting with dark magic, Diabellstar also wields a sword.
  • Mood-Swinger: According to her concept art, Diabellze has a tendency to be emotionally unstable, but when in public she suppresses it by keeping up a "good girl" facade.
  • Mythology Gag: Diabellstar herself shares attributes common with ace monsters used by the various Yu-Gi-Oh! anime/manga protagonists, being a Level 7 monster and sharing the common statline of 2500 ATK and 2000 DEF and opposed by an "X-Eyes Y Dragon" monster with 3000 ATK and 2500 DEF. For bonus points, she is one of only cards in the game with these attributes that is also a DARK Spellcaster, the others being the iconic Dark Magician (and its variants) and Astrograph Sorcerer.
  • Red Right Hand: Diabellze's Sinful Spoil, Sinful Spoils of Dozing - Morrighan, is a massive green claw where Diabellze's right arm would be. Unlike Diabellstar's Sinful Spoils, Morrighan lacks sentience of any kind.
  • Sinister Scythe: Sinful Spoils of Doom - Rciela takes the form of a massive scythe that Diabellstar uses to cause immense destruction.

    Snake-Eye
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sinfulspoilsofsubversionsnakeeye_madu_en_vg_artwork.png
Snake-Eye is an archetype first introduced in the first Series 12 core booster, Duelist Nexus, with the subsequent archetype being revealed in Age of Overlord. They primarily consist of Level 1 FIRE Pyro monsters whose effects revolve around placing face-up monsters in the Spell/Trap Zone as Continuous Spell Cards and then Special Summoning them to their side of the field. Their boss monster is Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon, a Level 8 FIRE Dragon monster with 3000 ATK/2500 DEF.

The "Snake-Eye" archetype is connected to "Diabellstar the Black Witch" and the overarching "Sinful Spoils" storyline, where the titular Snake-Eye is one of the fated Sinful Spoils that Diabellstar seeks to hunt and contain.
  • Death-Activated Superpower: Flamberge Dragon has the ability to summon two Level 1 FIRE monsters from the GY back to the field should it be sent from the hand or field to the GY.
  • Fairy Companion: "Snake-Eyes Populus" is implied to be a tamed version of "Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon" that accompanies Diabellstar on her journey after she defeats the Original Sinful Spoil, only to be subsequently kidnapped by the Goblin Bikers who are interested in Diabellstar's bounty.
  • Floral Theme Naming: The archetype's level 1 monsters are all named after a type of tree—more specifically, the trees into which many of the characters in the folk tale Eglė the Queen of Serpents are transformed.
  • Mythology Gag: Much like how its counterpart archetype "Diabellstar" is based on the ace monsters of Yu-Gi-Oh! anime/manga protagonists, Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon is likewise based on the ace monsters of Yu-Gi-Oh! anime/manga rivals, sharing the "X-Eyes Y Dragon" naming scheme and common attributes, including the Level 8, Dragon typing (in an otherwise non-Dragon archetype), and 3000 ATK/2500 DEF statline.
  • Power Copying: Snake-Eyes Populus consumes the magical energy of Goblin's Crazy Beast in "Battle of the Sinful Spoils", causing it to gain its form for itself. Diabellstar gains control of Populus and they become "Snake-Eyes Diabellstar".
  • Summon Bigger Fish: Ash, Oak and Birch all have the ability to send themselves and one other card on the controller's field to summon a Snake-Eye monster from the hand or deck. Birch is able to do so during the opponent's turn.

    Goblin Biker
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_194.png
Goblin Biker, known as Goblin Rider in the OCG, is an archetype of Level/Rank 3 monsters and a subarchetype of the overarching "Goblin" archetype introduced in the Core Booster Phantom Nightmare. They prominently feature the ability to spam the board with "Goblin" monsters to gain advantage by detaching materials from Xyz Monsters on the field for cost, then overlaying for powerful Rank 3 Goblin Rider Xyz Monsters or level modulating to access higher Ranks, including their Rank 6 boss monster, "Goblins' Crazy Beast". Their Xyz Monsters keep momentum flowing by having the ability to pack on extra Xyz Material onto itself from elsewhere on the field and through the Deck, giving the Goblin Riders continued access to their effects.

Lore-wise, they are part of the "Diabellstarr" storyline alongside the "Sinful Spoils" and "Snake-Eye" archetypes, where they accost her on their home turf in pursuit of her immense bounty.
  • Bullying a Dragon: After the Goblin Bikers kidnap Snake-Eyes Poplar from Diabellstar, they very quickly learn what happens when you piss off a powerful witch armed with cursed magical artifacts. Their attempt to sic Goblins' Crazy Beast on her also backfires spectacularly when Poplar absorbs its mana, allowing Poplar to gain its form and become "Snake-Eyes Diabellstar".

    White Woods
  • Origins Episode: This archetype serves an origin story for Diablestar, Diabellze, and the Sinful Spoils as a whole.
  • Was Once a Man: It is possibly hinted that The White Woods Extra Deck monsters would eventually turn into the Sinful Spoils in the future, judging by their names.
  • We Used to Be Friends: When they were young, Asteria (the future Diabellstar) and Risette (the future Diabellze) used to be part of the White Woods archetype, working together at some point.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: Risette was kind to Asteria until the incident that caused them to be enemies.
