ThunderClan
General
- Adaptational Curves: They're almost all Maine Coon sized, which is much larger than most are in canon.
- Blood Knight: ThunderClan is known for their love of fighting.
- The Dreaded: Cats both in the other three Clans and outside the Clans fear ThunderClan for their aggressive reputation.
- Large and in Charge: They're the largest of the Clan cats. They're known for being big and muscular.
- People of Hair Color: Most ThunderClan cats have medium-length fur and are either tabbies or torties. White markings are common, but spots are all-but-unheard of. All-white cats are very rare.
- Proud Warrior Race Guy: Even more so than the other Clans. They are proud warriors who enjoy battling.
Rusty/Firepaw
- Adaptational Angst Upgrade:
- Unlike in canon, he worries about his owner and what they'll think when they find Rusty gone. He comes to the conclusion that they aren't that attached yet, so their owner will get over his disappearance soon.
- Spottedleaf's death gives Firepaw quite a shock. It's his first time seeing a dead cat.
- Nonstandard Character Design: Firepaw sticks out like a sore thumb in ThunderClan with his short fur, small size, and red pelt.
- Older Than They Look: He's routinely mistaken for a kitten, especially when compared to his larger Clanmates.
- A Pet into the Wild: He was born a pet but decided to join ThunderClan after being asked by Bluestar.
- Precocious Crush: He does refer to Spottedleaf as "pretty" a few times, hinting at an attraction like in canon, but it's heavily downplayed.
Greypaw
- Adaptation Personality Change: The writer disliked Greystripe's wishy-washy personality and his role as comedic relief, so he's made into a more well-rounded character.
- Parental Abandonment: Both his parents died prior to the story.
Bluestar
- The Leader: Bluestar leads ThunderClan.
- Unrelated in the Adaptation: She is no longer the mother of Mistyfoot and Stonefur.
Redtail
- Ascended Extra: He isn't killed off at the start of the series.
- Spared by the Adaptation: Redtail's Plot-Triggering Death doesn't occur until much later on.
Spottedleaf
- Adaptational Job Change: From medicine cat to seer.
- Dies Wide Open: She was found drowned, with her eyes wide open, after going for walk.
- Make It Look Like an Accident: Her death was considered accidental for several months.
- Non-Action Guy: Being a seer, she was never taught how to fight.
- Seers: She's the seer of ThunderClan.
Tigerclaw
- Adaptation Personality Change: He isn't as obviously evil as he is in the books. He starts off as a vague, stoic character before his true nature is shown.
Lionpelt
- Adaptation Name Change: He's known as "Lionheart" in the official books.
Ravenpaw
- Nervous Wreck: He's been nervous his entire life. He's so panicky that he ran back into the nursery when cats started chanting his new name after he was dubbed "Ravenpaw".
- Parental Abandonment: Prior to the story his mother was killed in battle and his father was killed by an adder.
- Shrinking Violet: Ravenpaw is very shy.
- Speech Impediment: He stutters often.
Sandpaw/Sandstorm
- The Bully: She bullies Firepaw for being born a pet.
- Missing Mom: Her mother died prior to the story.
Dustpaw/Dustpelt
- The Bully: He mocks Firepaw for his kittypet heritage.
Murkpelt
- Adaptational Job Change: From medicine cat to seer.
- Adaptation Name Change: In canon she is called "Yellowfang".
- Non-Action Guy: One of the signs that she's being framed is that Murkpelt has absolutely no fighting ability. Seers aren't trained in battle so even a housecat kitten like Firepaw can best her.
- Seers: She is the ShadowClan seer but was ran out after being accused of indirect murder. She then becomes the ThunderClan seer.
- That Man Is Dead: She disowns her name after running away from ShadowClan.
- Unperson: As a traitor she is "nameless" in the eyes of the other cats.
Teaselfoot
- Adaptation Name Change: He's called "Runningwind" in canon.
ShadowClan
General
- Adaptational Ugliness: They're scrawnier than in canon.
- Dark Is Not Evil: ShadowClan has a reputation for being sneaky but it's all misconception and stereotyping. Most ShadowClan cats are benevolent and as straight-laced as any other cat.
- Older Than They Look: It's not uncommon for adults to look as young as apprentices or even kittens.
- People of Hair Color: ShadowClan mainly produces brown, gray, and black cats (many of which are melanistic). They frequently have faint stripes and spots, but white markings are very rare and usually limited to their paws.
- Pint-Sized Powerhouse: They're small but powerful fighters.
Brokenstar
- Dark Is Evil: He's a villainous dark brown tom.
- The Leader: He's the (corrupt) leader of ShadowClan.
- The Social Darwinist: He begins kicking out any cat too weak to take care of themselves.
Dawncloud
- Death by Adaptation: She's run over by a car, long before her canonical death.
Ashfur
- Ascended Extra: He's a minor character in canon but his role is extended in Redux.
- Cool Old Guy: He's a nice enough elder.
Palecloud
- Adaptation Name Change: Her canonical name is "Poolcloud".
RiverClan
General
- The Beautiful Elite: They're known for being very attractive, especially for moggy strays. They also live relatively easygoing lives because their prey is (usually) plentiful and doesn't get away easily.
- People of Hair Color: RiverClan cats are known for being brightly coloured and patched. Calicos and torties are especially common. Amongst non-patched cats, they're usually light colours with either stripes or spots (with leopard patterns appearing every once in a while). RiverClan tabbies come in classic, marbled, and mackerel.
WindClan
General
- People of Hair Color: WindClan cats are usually muted and monochromatic, with their brightest being a diluted ginger. Most WindClan cats are plain brown, gray, or brownish-gray. Fur patterns are rare and mostly commonly consisting of white markings on the stomach and/or chest.
Miscellaneous
Smudge
- Cats Are Lazy: He's described as lazy (and chubby) due to his laidback kittypet lifestyle.
- Lazy Neutered Pet: He was always lazy but he becomes even more-so after being neutered.
- Non-Action Guy: He's a kittypet kitten who is more than fine staying in his yard, far away from dangerous forest cats.
Barley
- Big Eater: Being a barncat, he has an easy life with a lot of prey. He's chubby as a result.
Boulder
- Adaptation Name Change: A plot-relevant one. Boulder is renamed "Bouldernose" by Brokenstar prior to his first on-screen appearance.
