Agorrians

     As a Whole

  • Fantastic Racism: Against Zertonians. An Enforced Trope by the governments of both societies.
  • Government Conspiracy: Dulin, their leader, is working with Zalilak, the leader of the Zertonians, to keep both societies at war and unaware of their shared species.

    Darak
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/darak.jpg
An Agorrian pilot and the son of Minister Dulin. One of the series' two protagonists.
  • Dreaming of Things to Come: His voyage is begun with a vision revealing the Agorrians and Zertonians as the same species and stating that they must unite or perish.
  • He Knows Too Much: Is set to be executed by the Zertonians for learning the secret of the war, but is luckily freed by the Unifiers.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: With Solila, though he warms up to her much faster than she warms up to him.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: Implied to be such in Issue #2 by his reaction to Dulin's harsh parting words.

    Handroid
An artificial intelligence companion embedded in Darak's glove.
  • Servile Snarker: Does not like to withhold its opinion on the events happening around it.

    Dulin
"Darak, in a matter of moments, you will launch as the greatest Agorrian pilot in history. That is the only thing that has spared you from my wrath. Return with the same sterling reputation... or do not return at all."
The leader of the Zertonians and Darak's father.

    Elander
Director of the Agorrian military division Darak serves in.

Zertonians

     As a Whole

  • Fantastic Racism: Against Agorrians. An Enforced Trope by the governments of both societies.
    • Best shown in Issue #4 as the Zertonians react to the captured Darak with abject horror reserved for monsters.
  • Government Conspiracy: Zalilak, their leader, is working with Dulin, the leader of the Agorrians, to keep both societies at war and unaware of their shared species.

    Solila
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/solila.jpg
"I am your child no longer, witch. I turned my back on you zealots long ago. I am a warrior. I am a pilot. I no longer belong to your order."
A Zertonian warrior. One of the two main protagonists.
  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: Betrays Darak despite him proving his honesty to her.
  • She Knows Too Much: Is set to be executed by Zalilak for figuring out the secret of the war, but luckily escapes thanks to the Unifiers.
  • Summon to Hand: After throwing her spear, Solila can summon it back to her hand for another go. It turns out this can also be inverted with the spear summoning her to it if it happens to be stuck - which is not a good thing when the reason it is stuck is from being held in place by an incredibly dangerous warrior.

    Zalilak
Leader of the Zertonians.
  • Conspicuous Consumption: Is shown eating from a massive table covered in food, in stark contrast to the desperately poor citizens of Zertonia.
  • Spotting the Thread: Immediately cottons on to Solila being friendly with Darak once she briefly expresses relief at his safety.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Seems to believe that the conspiracy he co-leads will prevent the mysterious "Goliant" from rising again, and is genuinely panicked as things slowly start to unravel.

    Mistress Vill
"You have become what we have allowed you to become. Your path has been ordained and you walk it as designed."
Leader of a mysterious organization called the Keepers of the Light.
  • All According to Plan: Implies that Solila's desertion from the Keepers was intended to set in motion the currently-occuring events.
  • Quest Giver: Informs Solila that she is going on a path no Zertonian has before and gives her a mysterious artifact with Agorrian and Zertonian symbols.

    Ultum
A small child who is part of the Unifiers.
  • Easily Forgiven: Kanela brushes off his betrayal almost immediately, understanding his motivation to reunite with his mother.
  • Missing Mom: The Zertonian government promising to reunite him with his mother prompts his betrayal of the Unifiers.

    Kanela
A Zertonian guard who secretly works with the Unifiers and has a history with Solila.
  • The Mole: Is seemingly loyal to the Zertonians but is actually working with the Unifiers, a resistance group aware of the conspiracy.

    Proximus
An elite Zertonian hunter that Zalilak tasks with eliminating Darak and Solila. Utilizes a bow that launches target-seeking energy arrows.
  • Aloof Archer: Subverted. While off duty he projects the air of a bored and disinterested scholar. In combat, however, he turns into a Blood Knight.
  • Cultured Warrior: Our introduction to him shows him reclining in a mindscape reading vast amounts of literature.
  • Cyborg: Proximus in reality has no abdomen or legs, one arm, half of his face, and a shattered forehead crystal, with it all but stated that Zalilak was the one who did that to him. As a result he spends most of his time in life support, but when he doesn't he is granted cybernetic limbs which grow his armor around him.
  • The Dreaded: Him simply moving and talking was enough to bring another Zertonian to his knees in tears. Zalilak is more composed with regards to Proximus, but even he's not happy that the situation has come to this. When Solila realizes Proximus is after her and Darak, she manages to convey fear through her helmet.
  • Everyone Has Standards: He's just as committed to preventing Goliant as Zalilak is.

Quintessons

    Judge
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/18014d2e_2c1c_4c5a_b0b2_abb4eb5ad5d1.jpeg
Also known as the Imperial Magistrate. The highest authority on Quintessa.
  • Repeat What You Just Said: Interrupts Skuxxoid's begging when he mentions Zertonian metals, and quickly becomes intrigued by the existence of the group.
  • You Have Failed Me: Sends the Prosecutor away to be punished after he fails to bring the Scorpia to Quintessa intact.

    Prosecutor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/08a245a7_8f6a_486f_a9b7_5a26eda18829.jpeg
"I have many dealings with many civilizations across the cosmos. My kind have made enemies."
An Inquisitor-class Quintesson minion who encounters the protagonists after they are rescued (and captured) by Skuxxoid.
  • Obviously Evil: Deconstructed; their mannerisms are so blatantly sinister and untrustworthy that Darak and Solila happily turn them over to Skuxxoid so they don't have to worry about the Quintesson backstabbing them.

Others

    Jetfire
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/08701a86_5704_421f_9da6_e06e7146f124.jpeg
A Cybertronian scientist that crash-landed millions of years ago on the same world Darak and Solila find themselves on at the series' beginning.
For more information, see his folder in Transformers (2023).

    Skuxxoid
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/5305d936_67cd_4d67_a7d6_893d12707f3a.jpeg
An alien bounty hunter attempting to capture and sell whatever (or whoever) he can to provide for his family.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: Only menaces those whose capture can profit him in some way. He is perfectly content to let Darak and Solila go once he learns there are no bounties on them, even trading them a more functional ship for their cobbled-together craft.
"I only hurt people if I'm paid to. You're worthless to me. You're free to go."

    Shockwave
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/b1457226_b68c_49af_a727_1c8bdb015178.jpeg
The guardian of the mostly-depleted Cybertron.
  • The Cameo: Shows up for two pages in Issue #4 to inform the Skuxxoid that Cybertron is not in the market for Quintesson prisoners.
