     The Player Character
The protagonist, returning to their hometown after their grandfather's death.

  • Brainwashed and Crazy: One way of interpreting the vampire ending.
  • Face–Heel Turn: If you choose to join Amanda Chastain and become a vampire, you will kill all your friends.
  • The Hero: What kind of hero is up to you.
  • Nice Guy: One way to play them is as a completely upstanding compassionate hero.
  • Occult Detective: You get roped into this role and can be even more so if you have high investigation, occult, and a background as a paranormal investigator. If you select the right starting options you'll also have access to hedge magic.
  • The Paladin: Can be played this way, especially if one is religious and uses the faith power
  • Really Gets Around: The player character can sleep with multiple men and women in the game.
  • Refusal of the Call: If you choose not to join the Second Inquisition.
  • The Smart Guy: Can be played like this with the proper stats.
  • Vampire Hunter: One of the ways you can run the character.
  • Vampire Vannabe: Another possible way of running the character.
  • Van Helsing Hate Crimes: Can be doing this, though this depends on one's opinion on the vampires of World of Darkness.

The Hunters

     Adam Bane
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/adam_89.jpg
Wheelchair bound childhood friend and accountant.

     Sarah "Salem" Moretti
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/salem_6.jpg
Another childhood friend and romance option. Has a Goth girl look.

  • Basement-Dweller: A somewhat realistic example, in that she still lives with her parents because of financial reasons.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: You and she can hook up. You were also friends growing up.
  • First Girl Wins: Can be the girl you end up with. She's also your childhood friend and the first person who welcomes you back to Jericho Heights.
  • Goth: Salem still has the attitude, look, and clothing despite being a Nice Girl.
  • Nice Girl: One of the nicest, kindest people in the game.
  • Pair the Spares: If you push it, Adam and Sarah will hook up instead of you with either.
  • Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: This is a good descriptor of Salem.

     Lacey Pandleton
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lacey_3.jpg
A gradeschool Vice Principal and single mother who is running for office.

     Marcus Williams
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/marcus_4.jpg
The son of a rich family who now works at the Army Navy store.

  • The Alcoholic: Struggles with alcohol after getting fired from the force.
  • Arms Dealer: Can sell you a lot of blatantly illegal hardware from the backroom.
  • Dirty Cop: Wasn't one but was framed to be by the police of Jericho Heights.
  • Frame-Up: Even his parents didn't believe him when he was accused of stealing heroin.
  • Spoiled Sweet: A rich kid who hasn't let it make him a bad person.
  • Vampire Hunter: A rather zealous one.
  • Van Helsing Hate Crimes: Is as determined as Adam to destroy all the vampires in town.

     Makayla Clark
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/makayla_clark.jpg
A young teenager who claims vampires live in Jericho Heights.

  • Adorably Precocious Child: Is a smart young woman who is playing with dangerous forces that could get her killed.
  • Adults Are Useless: Fully expects this to be the case and can be surprised by you taking her seriously and then deciding to deal with the town's vampire problem.
  • Child Soldier: Keeping her away from the fighting is a smart idea as Lacey is afraid she'll get killed trying to be this.
  • The Extremist Was Right: The young girl shouting that vampires are real is 100% correct.
  • Improbable Infant Survival: Risks death at the hands of the undead several times but always manages to scrape through.
  • Sole Survivor: Can potentially become this if you become a vampire. She, justifiably it turns out, no longer trusts you.
  • You Have to Believe Me!: Insists vampires are real and you can, in fact, believe her right off the bat.

    SPOILER CHARACTER

Annis Khan

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/anniskhan_9.PNG
A survivalist, nutjob, or living legend, depending on who you ask. The earliest mention you can find of her in the story is by finding the book Autobiography of a Hunter in the library in Chapter 6.

By following the Path of Righteousness, Annis will come find you for the final confrontation in Chapter 11 to offer her assistance in destroying the vampires of Jericho Heights.

  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She's not nice. But in Ending 9, she tips you off that she has a gift for you.
(Post-it Note on a pack of cupcakes) Happy 6 month anniversary.
  • Relationship Upgrade: Possibly. In Ending 9, regardless of whom you might have been romancing before, the player character leaves Jericho Heights to hunt vampires across the USA with Annis. In this epilogue, it's revealed you've been on the road with her for several months now, sharing motel rooms and apparently comfortable with seeing her naked... Plus, the uncharacteristically sweet gesture mentioned above.
  • Spell My Name With An S: The game can't seem to make up its mind whether her last name is Khan or Kean.
  • The Sixth Ranger: Quite literally, she is the sixth possible member of the Brigade's hunting party (the core 5 being yourself, Adam, Salem, Lacey, and Marcus). She fits the bill in the mysterious department, too.

The Vampires

     Amanda Chastain
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/amanda_chastain.jpg
A 13th generation Toreador who has set herself up in town.

  • The Beautiful Elite: Is pretty much the only example thereof in Jericho Heights.
  • Big Bad: The primary source of the town's misery.
  • Charm Person: One of her powers is to make herself supernaturally appealing (Presence, the Toreador signature).
  • Evil Is Petty: Destroyed your grandfather's business, mind-controls someone into Suicide by Cop, and extorts the locals for fun.
  • Kick the Dog: Dominated a man into going on a rampage in hopes of getting him killed.
  • I Love You, Vampire Son: Wants to reconcile with Monroe despite the latter's plans to kill her.
  • Normal Fish in a Tiny Pond: At the end of the day (night?) you're facing a fairly high generation Toreador vampire. (For reference, 13th is the highest generation before you start getting Thin-Bloods.) To the vampire community she's middle management at best, but to you she's a nigh-immortal horror who you will need preparation, allies, and luck to defeat.
  • Revenge by Proxy: Intends to get revenge on your grandfather by corrupting and seducing you.
  • Rich Bitch: Amanda owns the majority of the town and wields vast influence over it.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: Amanda pretty much solves all of her problems with this.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Acts like the Prince of Jericho Heights and a master vampire, despite the fact she's at the absolute bottom rung of Kindred society without being a Thin-Blood herself and fairly young as vampires go. She's also "ruler" of a city of about 13,000 people.
  • Stupid Evil: It is obvious she doesn't take the Masquerade very seriously by the way she casually leaves around a lot of evidence of her immortality.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Frequently lets Masquerade breaches slide and Embraces multiple Kindred (including potentially you) in a small town. This can get her destroyed by the Sheriff of Chicago.
  • Vampire Monarch: Acts like the one of Jericho Heights. If you know anything about Vampire: The Masquerade, this is ridiculous. (No Seneschal, no Sheriff, no Elysium, and no actual subjects.)

     Monroe Duncan
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/monroe_6.jpg
A mysterious Thin-Blooded vampire seeking to destroy her sire.

     Perry
A decaying Thin-Blood (Samedi?) that has no hesitation to kill.

  • The Friend Nobody Likes: The thin-bloods only tolerate Perry at best. Pick the right dialogue options and Monroe will straight up tell you she's only keeping him around as cannon fodder. One of the other Thinbloods even says out loud, "we can't kill him yet." Perry is not amused to hear this.
Perry: What do you mean, right now?! [...] Anyone comes near me and I swear...
  • Fully-Embraced Fiend: Perry disdains humans and considers them nothing more than food. He attempts to kill the protagonist multiple times out of spite. He also wants to diablerise Chastain and is hinted in a vision to have already done so to someone else.
  • Hate Sink: Has absolutely no redeeming qualities and constantly is in engaged in Kick the Dog. (Literally.)
  • Irony: Perry is a Fully-Embraced Fiend who talks greatly about how he's superior to humans and they're just food. He's a Thin-Blood and barely above mortals in the eyes of "real" vampires. Although his similarities to the Samedi bloodline — painful bite, rotting every night — are similar enough he is likely not to be Thin-blood at all, but is thought to be one because he and the "other" Thin-bloods don't know any better. Especially since a vision strongly hints that he's already committed diablerie - a process where he's drunk his master's blood and taken their powers
  • Killed Off for Real: Is killed by either you, Chastain, or a visiting hunter.
  • Stupid Evil: Knows you're helping against Chastain (possibly) but intends to kill you just because you got away from him.
  • Token Evil Teammate: The absolute worst vampire in the entire game and a murderer of multiple people.

     Kyra
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kyra.jpg
A extroverted Instagram model and psychopathic Thin-Blood.

  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Seems like just another vain and arrogant Kindred, but is willing to help Perry kill you for no reason.
  • Kick the Dog: Attempts to kill you with Perry just because she's bored.
  • Killed Off for Real: Kyra is killed by Chastain if you are unable to do it.
  • Token Evil Teammate: More cordial than Perry but every bit as evil.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Monroe points out that Kyra's being way too sloppy with her influencer career, only posting at night and putting up too many pictures of herself with other vampires.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Is one of the people responsible for the missing teens in town.

     Joachim "Jace"
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jace_57.jpg

A Thin-Blooded vampire working with Monroe to destroy Amanda Chastain.
