"J" Joe Odajima

Majestic.
Ten years ago, Nagoya's fastest racer vanished in thin air. Now that a new legend is rising in the city, he's back. Admired, imitated, but never fully replicated, "J" Joe Odajima, is the other Nagoya boss, a legendary street racer from the late Eighties and early Nineties. His car is a Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R painted a unique reddish-brown nicknamed "J's Color".
  • Battle Aura: His R32 will emanate a blue glow whenever he races against the player.
  • Depraved Dentist: J is said to be a dentist in his bio, but the trope is pretty much Averted, as he's always seen with a smile on his face and is apparently a pretty chill guy.
  • Living Legend: To say Joe Odajima is the closest equivalent Nagoya has to UNKNOWN wouldn't be much of an understatement. He was the top racer in the city and quickly grew a massive following, to the point a team whose sole goal was emulating and tributing him was established after he vanished. Even after a decade of inactivity, everyone still recognizes him and is in utter awe of him.
  • One-Letter Name: His street name is "J".
  • What a Piece of Junk: His R32 GT-R is over a decade old, and is nothing noteworthy aesthetics-wise. Under the body is an entirely different story, with an engine so thoroughly tuned next to nothing can keep up with it and suspensions so solid that the car's cornering ability has a near-mythical status.

    D3

D3's logo.
Every city, every road has drivers who are clearly faster than the rest. They might fight one another, trying to become the very best. They might recruit strong drivers who aren't on par with them to lead a team. But what happens when the fastest drivers of a city join forces?

D3 are Nagoya's fastest. Period. There have been, are, and will be other fast drivers, but none of them will be as fast as the trio of "The Rook" Hiroaki Sakuraba, "The Bishop" Shin'ichiro Kanaya and "The Knight" Keita Arai.
  • Battle Aura: "The Rook" Hiroaki Sakuraba has a light-grey area emanating from his car during battles, whilst "The Bishop" Shin'ichro Kanaya's and "The Knight" Keita Arai's are electric blue.
  • Chess Motifs: All three members' street names are derived from chess pieces.
  • Climax Boss: The trio serves as the final boss of Nagoya.
  • Mythical Motifs: Dragons. The team's name in long form is "The Dragon Three", and a dragon clearly features on their team logo in 3.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Their Supras A80 have brutal acceleration and top speed, and clear the corners at ridiculously high speeds. Even the various Infinity -1 Swords available to the player, such as the Ford GT or the DeTomaso Pantera will not have an easy time against them.
  • Sequential Boss: They all need to be fought one after the other, with no breaks in-between. If the player loses to any one of them, they'll need to restart from scratch.
