- Affectionate Nickname: "Corrie", although it's more affectionate when Seth's band mates call her this than Seth himself.
- Big Beautiful Woman: Corinth is big bodied as she is beautiful.
- Cleans Up Nicely: Corinth is pretty in general but whenever she dresses up, she looks absolutely fabulous.
- Establishing Character Moment: The comic begins with her cleaning the beach, showing her good hearted nature.
- Hand Signals: Knows American Sign Language due to her Mother being deaf.
- Meaningful Name: One of the meanings of Corinth's name can mean "beauty".

- Becareful What You Wish For: Seemingly Averted. As Skylla knew what she was getting into and what she was going to lose when going to her ancestors for help.
- Berserk Button: Skylla doesn't like it when her height compared to her sisters is brought up. Also, harming Corinth becomes one once they really bond as friends.
- Big Damn Heroes: In Episode 37, she saves Corinth just in time from being eaten by one of her older sisters.
- Big Eater: Justified. As there's been less and less fish in the sea.
- Blunt "Yes": When Corinth asks if her magic being removed harmed her, Skylla responses with "I'm alright now" with a weak smile.
- Circling Birdies: Skylla, instead of seeing "Circling Stars" she sees "Circling Seastars" when eating a burger for the first time.
- Combat Medic: Skylla can heal, alongside fighting.
- De-power: When she makes her wish, Skylla loses her voice and most of her magic in order to be with Corinth more often.
- Establishing Character Moment: To show off her mysterious and curious nature, she's first shown pulling Corinth into the water, aiming to eat her but suddenly changing her mind and throws Corinth back on land, but not without yanking Corinth's shiny necklace for herself.
- Instant Expert: Is a fast learner, learning how to speak English, ASL and read at a fast pace.
- Meaningful Name: Skylla is named after a ocean spirit.
- Only Known by Their Nickname: Due to her name being a screech that Corinth can't produce, Corinth suggests choosing a name just for the two of them. Skylla was chosen. Also counts as being a Affectionate Nickname.
- Our Mermaids Are Different: Skylla's species in this story contain lot more animal traits than human traits among other things.
- Painful Transformation: The panel after Corinth asks if Skylla's wish harmed her, we're greeted with a panel of Skylla flashing in different colors as her spine, with hints of her rib cage and pelvis is shown missing the skin in her transformation. She follows up with that she's okay now, hinting that it did indeed hurt, a lot.
- Something Only They Would Say: When she walks into Corinth's classroom, she proves that she is indeed the same Skylla by doing the ASL for friendship
(complete with the panel's BG being that very moment). - You Wouldn't Like Me When I'm Angry!: Whenever Skylla gets mad, her cyan blue eyes darken to black and her "hair" stands on end.
- You No Take Candle: Skylla's English when she first talks to Corinth is shown to not be fluent but gets the idea across of what she means, as she mentions that she picked it up from sailors on boats. She later gets better at speaking English when learning from Corinth.
- Took a Level in Badass: Skylla's already badass from the get go but as she's learning from Corinth, she's turning into a Genius Bruiser.

- Abusive Parents: After his Mother left, his Father's behavior had turned more abusive.
- Control Freak: Is very possessive over Corinth. To the point where he claims "...you don't need anyone but me."
- Crazy Jealous Guy: Showed tones of jealousy when Corinth mentioned she's been hanging out with a friend (Skylla).
- Domestic Abuse: Is also abusive to Corinth through emotional means. And also suffers this at home with his Father.
- Establishing Character Moment: His first appearance through texts shows his possessive nature over Corinth.
- Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse: As the creator puts it in the description of Ep 95, Seth wasn't lying over his crappy situation but being hurt does not give him the excuse to hurt anyone else.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: Anytime he suspects Corinth being with someone else, usually thinking she's cheating on him with another guy, he gets upset.
- Hate Sink: In and Outside-of Universe. Seth isn't generally well liked with the readers due to his behavior, especially towards Corinth. Hell, even Skylla doesn't like him and at the time she didn't met him face to face yet! But when she overhears Seth's tone on the phone and later sees him and Corinth drive away in his car, it says a lot that those two instances causes Skylla to go into her angry face.
- Hidden Depths: In Episode 94, it implies that Seth wasn't as bad or was bad as he is now until he started to get abused at home.
- Troubled Abuser: As revealed in Episode 95, Seth as been bullied by his classmates in the past and when his Mother left him and his Father, the latter started to increasingly scream at him.

Corinth's Mother and Father.- Good Parents: Are very supportive parents to their daughter.
- Hand Signals: Corinth's Mother uses American Sign Language to communicate as she's deaf.
Skylla's Family

- Massive Numbered Siblings: As shown in the picture, Skylla has a lot of sisters.
- Sibling Rivalry: Shown, when a couple of Skylla's sisters fight her for her shines she gets from Corinth.
- Tough Love: Implied, as they don't want Skylla to be weak.

- Giant Woman: Oh so much but Skylla's Mother notes she wasn't always this big.
- Good Parents: Skylla's Mother addresses Skylla as "loved one" and Skylla's Fathers are eager to heal their daughter whenever she's wounded. The former gives good advice and gently wants Skylla to get stronger to survive on her own while not being as rough with her like her sisters are. On top of that, Skylla is comfortable to talk to them about not wanting to always fight and about her feelings towards Corinth.

- Nice Girl: Bernadette gives off this.
- Nice Guy: Edgar and Dave gives off this.
- Pungeon Master: Edgar. Bernadette tosses her drumsticks at him for trying to pull a pun off during band practice.
- Women Are Wiser: Bernadette is the one in the group to pick up Seth's behavior and question it, borderline calling him out for it.
