Yumi Itaba

A schoolfriend of Hibiki and Miku. She enjoys watching anime.
- Alternate Character Reading: Like the Symphogear songs above, Genchaku! Denkō Keiji Ban, which is mainly her Image Song, can be misread as "Genkitsu! Denkō Keiji Ban". If you listen to her before she starts to sing in episode 4, she pronounce it as "Genchaku". "Genchaku" is also part of the lyrics.
- Break the Cutie: Suffers one when a soldier gets killed in front of her, and another one when Hibiki goes berserk.
- Breaking the Fourth Wall: Very frequently.
- Catchphrase: "This isn't an anime."
- Cosplay Otaku Girl: In the fourth episode of G, she cosplays as the titular character of Denkō Keiji Ban. She even drags her two friends in costumes as well, so they can perform their karaoke song in the school contest.

Shiori Terashima

Another schoolfriend of Hibiki and Miku.
- Cosplay: In the fourth episode of G, cosplays a purple catgirl criminal (or heroine?) as requested by Yumi. Unlike Kuriyo, Shiori seems to enjoy it.
- Day in the Limelight: In the XDU game, all three get a spotlight in the "Mechvaranus" alternate universe chapter as the Users of the namesake weapons in that universe.
- Demoted to Extra: She shows up for only one, silent scene at the start of XV, along with the rest of the trio.
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: She has a nicer, calmer demeanor than the other two girls and golden locks to match.

Masahito Shibata

The Vice-President of Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Big Eater: Of noodles. Literally every time we see him, he's slurping down a bowl of noodles.
- Grumpy Old Man: It's why most people don't want to deal with him.
- Odd Friendship: With Genjuro.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: Has a few sparse appearances, and then, is suddenly gone from the plot.
- He does make a brief appearance in the first episode of GX, so it can be assumed that he's still alive.
Akira Tachibana
Voiced by: Toshihiko Seki
Hibiki's father, who lost everything in the public backlash resulting from Hibiki surviving the Zwei Wing incident two years ago and abandoned his family.
- The Atoner: By the time of XV, he's started making attempts to mend his relationship with his family, though it seems a slow process. He even outright states he refuses to be a Dirty Coward anymore in episode 12
- Broken Pedestal: Hibiki tells Shirabe and Kirika that she used to really look up to her father, but his abandonment broke that pedestal and his behavior upon reuniting with her smashed it into dust. And somehow the 11th episode managed to fix that. Somewhat.
- Character Development: Overall, following everything that happened from the moment he came back into Hibiki's life to the end of GX, he's gone on to do everything he can to become both a better person and a better father, in the hopes of becoming somebody that Hibiki can truly be proud of.
- Defensive Feint Trap: Pulls one on Carol by seemingly running away and then pathetically throwing rocks at her... until he grabs Hibiki's relic pendant that Carol had knocked away from her and throws it to Hibiki.
- Dirty Coward: Runs away to save his own skin instead of evacuating the kids like Tsubasa tells him to.
- When Carol tried to blast them off, although he saved Hibiki with a dive, he then started to run off like a coward... Though it turned out to be the trope above, seeing that at first he wanted Hibiki to survive and run even if he's the one to die, then turns back to throw Gungnir back to Hibiki. So even though he considers himself one, Akira - a completely normal human - stood up directly to Carol to get his daughter her pendant back. It is arguably Defied in this instance.
- Disappeared Dad: Is this to Hibiki until Episode 7 of GX. Even with his reappearance, Hibiki is distraught to find him in such a pathetic state, and wishes she hadn't met him again.Hibiki: "What's broken can't go back to how it was..."
- Entitled Bastard: In episode 8, not only does he expect Hibiki to completely forgive him with no issues for his parental abandonment, when she needed him most, but he arrived at the family restaurant, ordered a meal, and didn't even have any money on hand. To top it off, he just continues to eat his sandwich when Hibiki storms out in a rage after all of that.
- Hate Sink: Hibiki appropriately describes him as "the man who ruined her family". Between his jackassery and sleazy behaviour while attempting in his own words to "get together again" with Hibiki, it's a surprise that she hasn't decked him across the face. His next appearance in 11, however, shows him to be running away from this trope as he showed that he does care a lot for his family, it's just that he admits he's something of a Dirty Coward.
- How the Mighty Have Fallen: 'Mighty' might be saying too much, but this is a guy who was once an esteemed researcher, now reduced to a general store clerk because of an accident. With that kind of downgrade, it's no wonder he became bitter.
- Jerkass: It's mentioned in the keynotes that he became an abusive alcoholic who took out his anger on his family, and his abandonment of them contributed heavily toward Hibiki's mental trauma. Though this is due to the heavy societal and work abuse he took from both his boss (whose daughter had died in the concert), co-workers, and society itself for being happy that Hibiki survived.
- Jerkass Realization: Has one of these when he sees Hibiki transform and fight Carol in Episode 11 instead of running away, realizing that he shouldn't run away from his problems either.
- Rebuilt Pedestal: As shown in XV, Hibiki's opinion of him looks to have improved after he started doing his best to legitimately atone for his former actions.
- Took a Level in Kindness: Following everything that happened in GX, when he shows up again in XV, he's pretty much dropped almost all of the negative qualities he once had, though still a bit disconnected from his family.
- Wisdom from the Gutter: Who had expected things that made Hibiki such a heroic figure were from her deadbeat of a father? Even
Kaneko says that Akira is written as a below average schmuck, not a hero's father; everything he said, including the heroic rhetoric he never personally believed in like the "blessing and curse are two sides of the same coin", is simply to cheer his daughter up. Hibiki can take anything positive from his words because she's so above him as a person.
Sonya Virena
Voiced By: Natsumi Fujiwara
A woman who once worked with the Yukine family to bring peace to the world through music. She served as an older sister figure to Chris before the death of Chris' parents soured their relationship. Their relationship takes another hit when Chris is forced to shoot off her brother Stephan's leg to save his life from an Alca-Noise.
- Broken Pedestal: Chris used to look up to Sonya as an older sister figure but after her carelessness led to terrorists blowing up the concert hall where her parents were playing Chris blamed Sonya for their deaths. By episode 8 Chris' relationship with her improves as she realises that there was nothing she could have done and decides to bury the hatchet.
- Irrational Hatred: Despite outright acknowledging that she had no choice, and that it was the right thing to do (especially considering that the alternative would have been his complete disintegration), Sonya is nevertheless completely livid at Chris for shooting off her brother Stephan's leg, and immediately declares that she will never forgive her for doing so.
- We Used to Be Friends: Chris and Sonya used to be as close as sisters during their time together while the Yukine's were singing. However, after the death of her parents, Chris blamed Sonya for being careless. Things only got worse after Chris was forced to shoot off Stephan's leg and Sonya admits that she can't forgive Chris now either. After episode 8 however, after a pep talk by Stephan, the two agree to bury the hatchet and leave the past in the past.
Stephan Virena
Voiced By: Asuna Tomari
Sonya's younger brother Stephan was one of many people who were kept in labor camps in the Val Verde Commonwealth before being rescued by the Symphogear users. He brings them to his village to free them from the threat of the Alca-Noise but one of them grabs his leg and Chris is forced to shoot it off to save his life.
- An Arm and a Leg: Stephan's leg is grabbed by one of the Alca-Noise during the skirmish in his village. In order to save his life Chris is forced to shoot it off. Given what usually happens when someone is grabbed by Alca-Noise, it's safe to say that he's incredibly lucky that losing his leg is all that happened to him, but this this fact doesn't stop Chris and Sonya's already rocky relationship from souring even further.
- Artificial Limbs: Stephan arrives in Japan in order to get a new mechanical leg to replace the one lost to the Alca-Noise.
- Cheerful Child: Stephan seems like a fairly happy, well adjusted child, despite his experiences. He also holds no ill will towards Chris telling her that there was nothing else she could have done to save him.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Calls out both Sonya and Chris for being stuck in the past while he's looking towards the future even with his missing leg. This wakes both of them up enough to forgive each other.
