The New Jedi Order
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/d496504e_90b0_451a_bd9f_b7eb8e46f3d9.png

Through all the turmoil that the galaxy experienced over the century since the defeat of Darth Sidious, Luke Skywalker’s New Jedi Order endured. A constant, impartial guiding hand to the galaxy’s superpowers, it flourished as the keepers of the fragile peace that followed the Yuuzhan Vong War and the reign of Darth Caedus.

However, they could not have anticipated the depths that their enemies would sink to in order to destroy them — the manipulations of the One Sith proved elusive to the Order until it was too late, and in a surprise attack following their coup d’etat, the Sith wiped out nearly half of the Order. The survivors regrouped, attempting to unite the remnants of the Galactic Alliance and the Fel Loyalists in this final battle for the fate of the galaxy...

Close allies of Cade Skywalker

    Kol Skywalker

Master Kol Skywalker

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/koljpg.jpg

Species: Human

Appears in: Legacy

A Jedi Master and direct descendant of the legendary Grand Master Luke Skywalker, the father of Cade, and the younger brother of Nat. He was the master of Jedi Master Wolf Sazen and spearheaded the Ossus Project, hoping to restore worlds De estates by the Yuuzhan Vong invasion by using Vong biotech. Unfortunately the experiment is sabotaged by the One Sith, sparking the Sith-Imperial War.

  • Authority Equals Asskicking: He was the leader of the New Jedi Order and a very powerful fighter capable of taking on masses of Sith and Imperial soldiers all by himself, and overpowering Darth Nihl after he (temporarily) killed Wolf Sazen.
  • Always Someone Better: Nat felt that he couldn't measure to Kol, believing him to be a better Jedi and a natural leader.
  • Dating Catwoman: A Jedi who fell in love with Morrigan, an Imperial agent, much like his ancestor before him.
  • Death by Origin Story: He dies in the first issue to give Cade a reason to angst.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partner: With Wolf Sazen, who was his padawan and later become his son's master. Kol became particularly enraged after Darth Nihl killed Sazen and assaulted him for it.
  • Meaningful Name: Kol backwards is Lok, i.e. Luke.
  • One-Man Army: Took down many Sith and Stormtroopers during his last stand on Ossus, as well as injuring Darth Nihl, only dying after Nihl struck him in the back with Force lightning.
  • Posthumous Character: All right, so he's alive in one issue, but dies maybe halfway through that. He had quite an impressive display, though, and his actions help drive the plot. Every other one of his appearances is a flashback or as a Force ghost.
  • Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: Given his position. It was this combination that convinced everyone that Mara Jade's bloodline still exists in the Skywalker line. Thus he is most likely a descendant of Luke and Mara through their son Ben.
  • Starcrossed Lovers: His relationship with Morrigan didn't work out because she believed the Jedi wouldn't accept her as Kol's lover and the mother of his child, so she returned to serving the Fel Empire.
  • The Dutiful Son: Is implied to have been this, compared to his older brother Nat, staying in the jedi Order and becoming its leader while putting a great emphasis on responsibilities.
  • You Shall Not Pass!: He died fending off an army of Sith and stormtroopers to buy time for his students to escape. When he finally fell, there were dozens of Sith and Imperials lying dead at his feet.

    Wolf Sazen

Master Wolf Sazen

Species: Zabrak

Appears in: Legacy

A Zabrak Jedi Master who was the former apprentice of Kol Skywalker and later the mentor of his son, Cade. Darth Nihl would cut his arm off and almost kill him during the Massacre of Ossus, but Cade would revive him through his unique healing power. Seven years later, he would reunite with his former pupil and try to guide him back to the path of the Jedi.

  • Big Brother Mentor: He is a mentor to Cade and Shado, though moreso to Shado since the latter sticks with him and the other Jedi.
  • Mutual Kill: He and Darth Stryfe both strike each other down at the same time.

    Shado Vao

Master Shado Vao

Species: Twi'lek (Rutian)

Appears in: Legacy

"Your plan has a flaw... it assumes you can kill me."

Cade's best friend, as well as the brother of Astraal Vao. He was Master Kol's second Padawan after Master Sazen, though after Kol's death and Cade's presumed death at the Massacre of Ossus, Vao completed his training to knighthood and attained the rank of master under the apprenticeship of Master Sazen.

  • The Ace: He was well-known in the Jedi for being a proficient user in single-bladed and double-bladed lightsaber combat.
  • Mythology Gag: A reference and possibly distant relation to Mission Vao from Knights of the Old Republic, who shares the same surname, species and skin color.
  • Double Weapon: Carries a double-bladed lightsaber.
  • Never Got to Say Goodbye: The last we see of him is asking Morrigan about Cade when she reveals he's going to take Krayt with him to be incinerated by the sun. Cade survives and returns to his normal life, though, so it's possible he and Shado may meet again.

    "Bantha" Rawk

"Bantha" Rawk/Nat Skywalker

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nat_infobox.jpg

  • Always Second Best: He was subordinate to Kol Skywalker, his brother.
  • Cool Old Guy: A retired Jedi turned mechanic but still personable and capable of throwing down. Doubles as Cool Uncle to Cade.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: He helps destroy several Sith ships and throws Cade to safety at the cost of his life.

Jedi High Council

    K'Kruhk

Master K'Kruhk

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kkruhkhs.jpg

Species: Whiphid

Homeworld: Toola

Voiced by: Kevin Michael Richardson
Appears in: Republic | Clone Wars | Dark Times | Legacy

"I've been almost killed several times. I'm not dead. I hold no ill will to any who did try to kill me."

An experienced Jedi Master from the later years of the Galactic Republic, K'Kruhk was known for being able to outlive numerous disasters, having survived being cut down by General Grievous and the execution of Order 66. Over a hundred and fifty years later, he was a member of the New Jedi Order who managed to survive yet another Jedi Purge and would go on to help lead the Galactic Federation Triumvirate.

  • Benevolent Mage Ruler: By the end of the series, he sits on the Galactic Triumvirate.
  • Cool Old Guy: And this guy is old.
  • Foil: To Darth Krayt. Both were Jedi Masters who survived Order 66 by killing the Clone Troopers sent to murder them, and survived the following Great Jedi Purge by laying low, before being a vital part in rebuilding their respective orders and ultimately becoming rulers of the galaxy over a century later. But whereas Krayt survived the Purge by murdering every witness to his Jedi powers, and ruled as the single, all powerful Emperor of the One Sith, K'Kruhk survived by laying low, finding people he could trust, and ultimately shared power with his fellow triumvirs.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: Went from a simple Jedi who survived the Purge, to one-part ruler of the galaxy.
  • Gentle Giant: Stands at 2.5m tall like most Whiphids, but is incredibly gentle and thoughtful. Though if you don't want to see the ferocity that characterizes his kind, don't threaten those he protects.
  • Hunter Trapper: K'Kruhk is an expert archer and woodsman who uses his skills to hunt game for the group of Younglings under his care after Order 66 when they're living in seclusion. He also uses these skills to subject a group of outlaws to a Mook Horror Show.
  • Made of Iron: Has survived several near-death experiences, including getting cut up by General Grievous and the initial Order 66 massacre, and he kept chugging through entire Galactic Civil War and Yuuzhan Vong War.
  • Memetic Badass: In-Universe and Out, his feats of sheer survivability have allowed him to be one of the only Clone Wars-era characters to live all the way into the Legacy era, though not without a few scratches.
  • Papa Wolf: To the younglings he protected during the reign of the Empire.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Ends up as one of the rulers of the galaxy.
  • Really 700 Years Old: He was already a master during the Clone Wars, a century and a half before he re-emerged. After T'ra's death, he becomes the oldest living Jedi (specifically the oldest living character) in Legacy, and the oldest known character still alive at the latest point in the Legends continuity.
  • Shirtless Scene: Goes through a number of these during his exile.

    T'ra Saa

Master T'ra Saa

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tra_saa_republic_tv_tropes.jpg

Species: Neti

Appears in: Republic | Lone Wolf note  | Legacy

A Jedi Master in the waning years of the Galactic Republic. She was involved in Mace Windu's apprenticeship to an unknown extent, and also fell in love with fellow Jedi Master Tholme, becoming his successor as Jedi Watchman of the Kiffu sector. When Order 66 commenced at the end of the Clone Wars, she hid on Nar Shaddaa with Tholme and a pregnant Khaleen until they went to join Quinlan Vos in hiding on Kashyyyk. At some point, she reunited with Master K'Krukh and joined the New Jedi Order after the fall of the Galactic Empire.

  • Ambiguously Brown: She is depicted with non-white features.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Given how close T'ra Saa and Mace seem to be, it seems more that she was his actual master (compare in The Clone Wars, the relationship between Anakin and Ahsoka versus Obi-Wan and Ahsoka).
  • Cool Old Lady: She's Really 700 Years Old, but she's fairly relaxed and nice.
  • Fling a Light into the Future: As a result of her death, Neti saplings are born from her.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: She sacrifices herself to create an opening in the Sith-Imperial fleet during its attack on the Jedi Hidden Temple.
  • Last of Her Kind: She's one of the few remaining living members of her species. Though she dies in Legacy, saplings are born from her and spread throughout the Hidden Temple, opening up the possibility that her species may recover one day.
  • Living Legend: As Shado explains it, she's one of the few of her kind. Combined with her being a Jedi Master, and bam.
  • Non-Mammal Mammaries: Her species are derived from plants... yet she has breasts. Though then again, the Neti are a shapeshifting species, so she might've chosen to have this appearance, and there's nothing saying that the Neti, like some plants, don't have sexual dimorphism either.
  • Mayfly–December Romance: T'ra Saa and Tholme lament that due to the former being long-lived, she will outlive the latter. Tholme passes away sometime after the events of Republic.
  • The Noseless: Do plants really need noses? Then probably not plant people either.
  • Plant People: As a Neti, she is a plant person.
  • Really 700 Years Old: She became a Jedi Master centuries before the Clone Wars.
  • Starcrossed Lovers: With Tholme, despite it being against the rules of the Jedi Order.

    Tili Qua

Master Tili Qua

Species: Chadra-Fan

Appears in: Legacy

  • Out of Focus: Compared to T'ra and K'Kruhk, who are both well-known Legends characters who have been alive since the Clone Wars, Tili seems to be there solely to fill out the High Council with a third member.
