Voice Actors, also known as Seiyuus within the Japanese animation industry; these people are actors and actresses who performs with well-trained vocal expressions, and clarity in speech. In general, voice actors can be hired to work for all kinds of industries that needs a voice, such as radio hosts, announcers, broadcasters, narrators, and so forth. In animated films, these people are the ones who breathes life to animated characters, and are required to have the ability to bend their vocal performance according to what the animation director or voice director wants. In Japan however, voice acting has developed into a major entertainment category of it's own; They can become singers, stage performers, and screen actors all in their own right, merging with main stream entertainment with increasing ease. Therefore, you can say they are the Super Stars of anime.note  But like all entertainment industries, the ones who cannot breakout will suffer from unemployment, and will have to work in various part-time jobs to survive.

Mari Tateo

The bland-named and ink-suit version of her real-life counterpart, Tateo is a veteran stage and voice actress with over 30 years's worth of voice acting experience, and was Shizuka's voice instructor.


  • All Musicals Are Adaptations: She's currently directing a stage performance, which is an all-female version of Waiting for Godot. And has offered Shizuka to participate in the play to prep herself whenever she fails to gain any voice acting roles.
    • Which has led to the Executive Meddling ending in removal of the episodes in question from streaming. The performances of the play with the female casts was a famous Berserk Button for Samuel Beckett in Real Life, up to him suing the theaters in question, and his estate apparently keeps this practice.
  • The Mentor: To Shizuka, to whom she gets auditions for from time to time.

Rina Souma

The ink-suit version of her real-life counterpart. She is a popular voice actress whom has obtained 10 main roles and an animated feature movie for her upcoming season.


  • Lolita Fashion: Even though it's not that obvious in her intro shot, but unlike Rinko's elegant look, Rina is more into the cute version, just like Tamura in real life.

Mei Nakaharu

Kyoko Suzuki

A newbie voice actress who just received her first and leading role in an anime project. Like all new actors, she's very stressed and nervous. Therefore, she would have to overcome lots of retakes and obstacles in order to prove herself worthy for the job.

Suzuki's character design is the ink-suit version of Aoi's voice actress, Juri Kimura.

  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Like Shizuka, Kyoko was also a voice actress struggling to make it big. She lands the role of the lead character of Third Aerial Girls' Squad, and by the end of the series she was even front-and-center in the staff picture.
