* BladeOnAStick: Her Concept Killing Spear, which was used to kill Cupid by a Pegasus. Strife gave it to her as a birthday present, and Rancor had to ''earn'' getting to use it. That said, she rarely uses it due to knowing how easily she could be HoistByHerOwnPetard. [[spoiler:The one time she does use it, she impales Discord and uses it to steal Destruction's power from him. After using it to wound Twilight in such a way that it'd stun Nightmare Eclipse during the FinalBattle, she atomizes it for the same reason she rarely used it.]]

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: While we're not exactly shown, it's implied he was strong enough to be a match for ''[[RealityWarper Discord]]''.

* NotSoAboveItAll: Despite representing the Order side of OrderVsChaos against Discord and generally portrayed as a serious Darkseid {{Expy}}, according to WordOfGod, the following situation from the "Modern Major EvilOverlord" play ''actually happened'':

* MadeOfDiamond: Partially. His mane, tail, hooves, cutie mark, and armor are composed of diamond and as hard as one would think.

* InsistentTerminology: Considers "freaks" something one should not call his BalefulPolymorph creations. He prefers "custom creations".

** He tried to teach Fluttercruel to be less violent. It seems not so much he's disturbed by her AxCrazy personality as she's not getting there's more to chaos than just maiming and killing ponies ForTheEvulz, such as turning an entire city into a crazy, BalefulPolymorph parade.

* ColorCodedWizardry: The first sign that he's truly a living being rather than one of Rarity's puppets is that he has an orange magic glow, different from her blue one or Discord's yellow one.

* AssholeVictim: [[spoiler:While Paradox went ''way'' too far, he was an unrepentant monster in the first cycle and there's little doubt he deserved what she did to him...[[MyGodWhatHaveIDone at]] [[HeelRealization first.]] Subverted by the time we see him, since by that point she's the only real reason he's even a villain anymore.]]

** The Voice gives him a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech, pointing out that he's ''always'' becoming bored with everything he does and, due to being immortal, he'll eventually become bored with ''everything'', essentially trapping him in a FateWorseThanDeath of his own creation. [[BigShutUp He doesn't]] [[VillainousBreakdown take it well]]. He actually seems ''excited'' that Twilight rebelled, as it means he's finally got something to do that'll be challenging.

* BreakingLecture: Does this to [[spoiler:Apple Pie and Derpy, Apple Pie by using the fact her favorite comic book series ended on a DownerEnding (he was only telling [[BittersweetEnding a half truth]]) and the Mane Cast's loss to Discord 1000 years prior to tear down her belief heroes can win, and Derpy by revealing he's just going to keep regenerating back into the Valeyard and has ''infinite'' regenerations, thus there's ''no'' getting the Doctor back (he's lying there too). It works better on Apple Pie, driving her into a HeroicBSOD and Discording her, but Derpy breaking through hers snaps her out of it.]]

* PhysicalGod: While they'd ''already'' reached this level in their original battle, in the timeline they managed to force their way back into Equestria (thanks to Sunset), the negativity of [[BadFuture Dark World]] instantly causes them to power up to a point they can fight Nightmare Eclipse and her Gallery ''on even footing''. Note, Eclipse is ''stronger than Discord'' at this point. They even get new evolved forms resembling Alicorns. They grow even stronger than that and flat out ''win'' the fight.

* SelfMutilationDemonstration: Derpy snaps his neck, hoping it'll force him to regenerate back into the Doctor. Instead, he regenerates right back into the Valeyard (but as a unicorn rather than an earth pony), smugly revealing that Discord gave him infinite regenerations as a reward for his service, and fatally stabs himself in the heart and regenerates again as himself just to prove his point. [[spoiler:It ends up backfiring when his lack of earth pony strength leaves him unable to resist Derpy and Applejack holding him down, allowing Rarity to slice him open and [[OutOfContinues steal and destroy his regeneration template.]]]]

* SelfMutilationDemonstration: Derpy snaps his neck, hoping it'll force him to regenerate back into the Doctor. Instead, he regenerates right back into the Valeyard, smugly revealing that Discord gave him infinite regenerations as a reward for his service, and fatally stabs himself in the heart and regenerates again as himself just to prove his point.

* SelfMutilationDemonstration: Derpy snaps his neck, hoping it'll force him to regenerate back into the Doctor. * NotSoDifferent:
** Spike figures this is what he was trying to prove with the trick he pulled with Spike's instincts, saying that like Discord, Spike is a monster underneath a kind exterior and can't fight his true nature. Spike ultimately proves him wrong in an extremely epic fashion.
** Says this to the mysterious Voice. It doesn't take it well. [[spoiler:He does it again later on when he notices she's using his tried and true method of trying to make himself feel better by trying to make someone else feel worse, in response to Rancor throwing a monkey wrench in her plans.]]

* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: [[spoiler:Finally returns the favor to TheVoice by pointing out the reasons she's trying to give is just her attempt to distract herself from the fact Rancor's betrayal completely derailing her plan and that she can't stand that. He caps it off by [[NotSoDifferent pointing out he's the same way]].]]

* ShutUpHannibal: [[spoiler:Ironic as it may be, he manages to do this to The Voice by cutting off her TheReasonYouSuckSpeech and pointing out that, this time, she's just trying to make him feel worse to cope with her own VillainousBreakdown at Rancor throwing a wrench in her works (ironically, by stabbing Discord InTheBack and mortally wounding him), then [[NotSoDifferent comparing the two of them]].]]

* ItCanThink: They can learn new tactics to deal with different obstacles, like having the flock split in two to dodge Spike's fire breath.

* FamousLastWords: [[spoiler:"Heh. Good luck earning your GoldenEnding, my little ponies."]]

* CreatingLifeIsUnforeseen: Brought to life by Rarigreed's love combined with her Element of Greed.
