-->'''Voiced by''': Draginite
----
* AlasPoorVillain: [[spoiler:While it's hard to feel sorry for him at the beginning of the GroundhogDayLoop when he was still an unrepentant monster, the person he is now is another story. Especially when Fluttercruel dies.]]
* AndIMustScream: [[spoiler:He's been trapped in a GroundhogDayLoop for what amounts to several ''hundred '''million''' years'' by Nightmare Paradox. To drive the point home, after being DraggedOffToHell, he's punished by his family for his crimes by being brutally killed and revived over a ''billion'' times. He considers it a relaxing escape after what Paradox put him through.]]
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: Like his Reharmonized Timeline self, he self-proclaims as Chaos and Disharmony. [[spoiler:And once his punishment from his family is completed, he's considering expanding his portfolio to Diversity]].
* AntiVillain: Subverted; he was still a monster like his other counterparts. [[spoiler:But by the time Dark World actually starts, he's had a HeelRealization [[GroundhogDayLoop cycles ago]]. He's only the BigBad [[BeingTorturedMakesYouEvil because Nightmare Paradox is forcing him to be]]]].
* AssholeVictim: [[spoiler:While Paradox went ''way'' too far, he was an unrepentant monster in the first cycle and there's little doubt he deserved what she did to him...[[MyGodWhatHaveIDone originally.]] Subverted by the time we see him, since by that point she's the only real reason he's even a villain anymore.]]
* TheAtoner: [[spoiler:As shown in flashbacks to previous loops, he had a HeelRealization at some point but the Nameless Passenger wouldn't let him act upon it (though he seems to admit he merely believed he couldn't have when Twilight tells him he always had a choice). Despite this, he leaves a long message to Twilight via his memories apologizing for ''every'' life he'd ever ruined and stating if he ''could'' he'd try to atone for his crimes. He finally gets the chance when Rancor ruins the Passenger's script enough for him to {{Out Gambit|ted}} her and give the heroes the chance to stop her in a DyingMomentOfAwesome.]]
--> '''Discord:''' [[spoiler:The crimes I've committed against the innocent and Equestria are beyond measure of your laws to punish. And I know this isn't enough. I can't rectify my wrong choice. So please. Just know I apologize. I don't expect nor deserve forgiveness. But I've also been forced to see too after so long that my own torture and misery doesn't amends anything either, as astounding as that is.]]
** [[spoiler:When he returns later on, he comes to help build a new universe for the ponies Manacle and Whisper rescued from previous loops as penance for [[CreateYourOwnVillain creating Eclipse in the first place]].]]
* AxCrazy: Subverted. He may be crazy, but contrary to popular belief, he is not particularly violent nor deadly. He actually acts as a {{Foil}} to Fluttercruel on wanton cruelty. He's still without a doubt a "sadistic hedonist", but he doesn't enjoy brutal murder.
** [[spoiler:Turns out, he was ''much'' more psychotic in earlier loops and mellowed out gradually.]]
* BackupFromOtherworld: [[spoiler:Interferes in the FinalBattle to distract Nightmare Eclipse long enough for Twilight's time spell to charge up... by ''[[{{Troll}} prank-calling her from the afterlife on Anarchy's cell phone]]'']].
* TheBadGuyWins: Rules the world and actually ''won''. Though there is some implication he'll eventually fall. [[spoiler:Turns out eventually he lost, [[EvilerThanThou to someone even worse than him.]]]]
* BaitAndSwitchBoss: [[spoiler:Prepares to fight the group himself alongside Rancor and Fluttercruel...only for Rancor to literally stab him InTheBack and rip out Destruction's essence, leaving him unable to use Havoc's as well and seemingly mortally wounding him. He gives his power and Havoc's to Fluttercruel, causing her to go OneWingedAngel and become the FinalBoss]].
* BeyondRedemption: Was written this way in the original Discorded Ponies. [[spoiler:However, by the time of the Dark World Arc, this is no longer the case, as millions of years in Nightmare Eclipse's torment changed him.]]
* BigBad: Just like his counterparts, he acted as one for his respective universe. [[spoiler:Well, he did have a HeelRealization mid-way after he was captured by Nightmare Eclipse, but he was prevented from acting on it because Eclipse still saw him as a villain and forced him to act like such]].
* BroughtDownToNormal: [[spoiler:Rancor rips out Destruction's essence, leaving Discord also unable to use Havoc's. He proceeds to give Havoc's and his own power to Fluttercruel]].
* CreateYourOwnVillain: [[spoiler:While he was ''also'' a villain when it happened, his actions in the first loop ultimately created Nightmare Eclipse/Paradox. He tortured the Twilight of that loop until she finally got free of his control and ended up becoming so obsessed with revenge on him she ''invoked'' the [[SuperpoweredEvilSide Nightmare]] transformation so she could have her vengeance on him as the world reset after she SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong. By the time she'd killed him, she decided to twist her plan to RetGone the BadFuture into his GroundhogDayLoop IronicHell it is now so she could torture him for eternity]].
* CruelMercy: States that he's being more cruel to [[spoiler:not destroy Sky Ocean and Cloudsdale when Rainbow Dash was beaten]] because if he did, [[spoiler:Rainbow Dash would be right, and the HeelRealization she had at discovering she was the bad guy]] is far more painful.
* DeathEqualsRedemption: [[spoiler:The fact Rancor had sent Nightmare Paradox's script completely off the rails by mortally wounding him allowed him to finally act on his HeelRealization and pass on his memories of the previous cycles to Twilight moments before he died and thus force Paradox to emerge, giving them the chance to stop her]].
* DevourTheDragon: [[spoiler:Fluttercruel tried to ''invoke'' this trope after he's been mortally wounded by Rancor, in an attempt to save his life. Discord flat out refuses (even lying to her that it wouldn't work) because she's the one being on earth he genuinely loves. He then ''inverts'' this trope by giving her his own power and the power he absorbed from Havoc, allowing her to go OneWingedAngel and become a Draconequus.]]
* DidntSeeThatComing: Says this pretty much word for word when [[spoiler: Rancor betrays him and takes Destruction's power.]] Not his fault though, since [[spoiler:everyone else is just as surprised as he is.]]
* DirtyCoward: Spent the entire fight with Queen Cadence, who actually had the potential to beat him, sitting several miles away, and the moment she charges him, he throws a minion at her and runs. [[spoiler:Even when he kills her, he only does so by stabbing her in the back.]]
* DiscOneFinalBoss: [[spoiler:While [[TheUnfought the heroes don't fight him]], he stops being a threat at the ending of the StormingTheCastle Arc and Cruelty becomes the DragonAscendant. He's confronted after, but by that point he's on his death bed and no threat to anyone and Nightmare Paradox makes herself know shortly after his death).]]
* DyingMomentOfAwesome: [[spoiler:His last act before he dies? Getting Twilight to use the Memory Spell on him and {{OutGambit|ted}}ing the Nameless Passenger in the process. Oh, and [[{{Troll}} forcing the Passenger to endure several hundred pictures of him mooning himself in the mirror set to a continuous loop.]]]]
* DystopiaJustifiesTheMeans: Unlike the other Discord we've seen, he's actually ''succeeded''. Though he does do ''some'' acts of mercy, mainly because it's ''not'' expected of him and thus chaotic. Even with that in consideration, his VillainWorld is a hell hole.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes:
** Surprisingly enough, he actually seems to care about Fluttercruel, to the point that he orders her back from the FinalBattle with Cadence to keep her from getting hurt (despite knowing full well she's immortal, though it might have been because her blood and magic could turn her to stone). Of course both of them are still evil sadistic psychopaths. [[spoiler:Then he shows he really ''does'' by going into a VillainousBSOD upon her apparent death]].
** It seems he also still remembers and (somewhat) cares about Shady, as he made a mountain in her image and filled a whole hall in his castle with statues of her. Of course, it's called the "Hall of Shame", and all the statues are designed to glare at the viewer, so make of that what you will…
** He also loves Screwball and Diamond/Mad Tiara [[spoiler:his nieces]] and before the final confrontation, sends them away to protect them. [[spoiler:He even begs the Elements of Harmony to swear not to harm them after his death, Twilight does so.]]
** [[spoiler:Admits that while turning Tiamat into a teacup dragon ''was'' evil, the being that resulted was someone he genuinely cared about and misses genuinely.]]
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Considers the word freak a "completely meaningless word" and will not tolerate it.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Anytime he actually shows compassion to someone, he can't seem to comprehend ''why'' he does and has to be told by Twilight Tragedy what he's feeling on one occasion. That's right, Discord's such an extreme example he cannot comprehend what little good's actually in him!
* EvilerThanThou:
** [[spoiler:Canon!Discord saw him in the truth. The guy is such a monster that it caused Canon!Discord to have a ''HeelRealization!'']]
** He also ultimately beat Grogar when the latter returned and tried to conquer Equestria. Though on the other hoof, Grogar went back to [[SealedEvilInACan laughing in Discord's face]].
** [[spoiler:Turned out that Eclipse was this ''to him''. He also says that Tirek was this to him ''every'' time the centaur showed up during a loop.]]
* EvilOverlord: He actually ''calls'' [[CardCarryingVillain himself one at one point]], complaining that if he didn't twist his words the other Evil Overlords would demote his membership to 'Malcontent Baron'.
* EvilParentsWantGoodKids: [[spoiler:After her defeat, he admits a part of him ''did'' wish he'd taken Fluttercruel to more of the rebel meetings and maybe interacting with ponies could have changed her for the better and laments the fact it never happened.]]
* EvilVersusEvil: When [[Franchise/MyLittlePony Grogar]] returned and tried once again to conquer Equestria, they went to war. Given their respective M.O.s, this also qualifies as OrderVersusChaos.
* ExactWords: He told the seaponies that the Alicorns were evil and tried to turn them into buffalo. Of course, he didn't mention that they only did that to save the original race of seaponies because he'd punished them by turning their ocean into a desert.
* FaceMonsterTurn: He LOVES this trope... through strangely, his more recent ones just act weird rather than evil. [[spoiler:There is a reason for this.]]
* FamilyUnfriendlyDeath: [[spoiler:In addition to being impaled, he dies when tendrils of darkness erupt out of the wound and [[DraggedOffToHell drag him into Entropy's realm]], causing him to basically ''implode into his own wound''.]]
* FateWorseThanDeath: [[spoiler:For who knows how long, the Nameless Passenger kept him trapped in a GroundhogDayLoop that always ended with his (usually painful) defeat.]]
* ForcedIntoEvil: [[spoiler:He had a HeelRealization a ''long'' time ago, but Nightmare Eclipse ''forces'' him to remain the EvilOverlord rather than actually act on it so she can punish him for it..]]
* GildedCage: Has one he keeps the Sea Ponies in a floating ocean and they're the only ones he doesn't torture…but they are completely ignorant of the CrapsackWorld he's made the rest of Equestria into, fed [[WrittenByTheWinners a horrifically wrong version of history]], and are pretty much his caged songbirds.
* GoneHorriblyRight: Is starting to feel this way about corrupting the Mane Six, at least so far as the fact that they go along with everything he orders without feeling conflicted.[[spoiler: Nightmare Eclipse is the perfect corruption of Twilight Sparkle and is only focused on torturing him.]]
* GoodFeelsGood:
** This is possibly his greatest fear. Not that he doesn't want to do good to feel good, but it is strongly suggested that he has been conditioned into believing NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished.
** Spike suggests after thinking over the game Discord played on him and Discord's general reaction whenever Shady is mentioned that it's not so much Discord is afraid that NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished as Discord is ''afraid'' to change, and instead of striving to be a good person, regressed into the monster he already was.
** Subverted when he actually feels ''compassion'' for someone and is disgusted and/or completely confused by it.
** [[spoiler:It turns out that, while this was ''once'' the case, by now the only reason he's still a villain is the Nameless Passenger won't let him 'break character' until her script is ruined by Rancor. His conversation with the Benevolent Interloper and other dialog also implies his pride may also have stood in the way]].
* GuiltyPleasure: How he describes his love of the Sea Ponies' music.
* HeelRealization: [[spoiler:Being forced to watch his atrocities replay [[GroundhogDayLoop over and over again]] eventually made him realize what a monster he really was, it's just the Nameless Passenger wouldn't let him 'break character' and act upon it until Rancor throws a wrench in the Passenger's work.]]
* HisNameIs: [[spoiler:Tries to tell Twilight what's really going on... and at that point he starts being [[DraggedOffToHell sucked into Entropy's realm]] when he dies, preventing him from explaining everything. Being Discord, he manages to lampshade it.]]
--> '''Discord''': [[spoiler:Typical. You have the worst sense of timing, don't you Mother?]]
* HopeIsScary: He claims that's he's irredeemably evil, but it's just a lie to make himself regret less.
* IHaveManyNames: Seems to have an infinite number of titles. Most of which are just random, nonsensical things like "Big Banana Discord", "Gravy Postage Discord", "Giant Polka Pants Discord", etc.
* ILied: He never intended to destroy Cloudsdale or Sky Ocean if Traitor Dash failed for PragmaticVillainy reasons; he only told her that as part of his game.
* InsistentTerminology: Considers "freaks" something one should not call his ForcedTransformation creations. He prefers "custom creations".
* IronicHell: [[spoiler:The FateWorseThanDeath the Nameless Passenger trapped him in? A world where there are no consequences to his actions (they'll eventually be undone anyway), his defeats don't matter, and he rules Equestria forever. [[GroundHogDayLoop And ever, and ever, and ever, and ever...]]]]
* LastRequest: [[spoiler:He had two. First that [[PetTheDog the heroes would spare Screwball and Diamond/Mad Tiara]] and second that Twilight would use her Memory Spell on him. His reasons for the latter are revealed to be to {{Out Gambit|ted}} the Nameless Passenger and throw a wrench in her works. And [[{{Troll}} her with several hundred pictures of him mooning himself in the mirror set to loop]] while Twilight sees the memories.]]
* LastSecondChance: ''Invoked''. [[spoiler:He'd already had a HeelRealization by that point anyway, but he convinced Twilight to extend one for him in order to {{Out Gambit|ted}} Nightmare Paradox.]]
* LastVillainStand: [[spoiler:He honestly ''tries'' to invoke this more out of pride (wanting to go out with a bang), but he's on his deathbed by that point so he's not able to fight and the heroes realize it.]]
* LeftForDead: [[spoiler:Severely wounded after Rancor cuts Destruction out of him. His parents and older/younger siblings can't seem to care whether he lives or dies or just disappears.]]
* TheMole: Takes on this role himself, infiltrating the various resistance groups and riling them up. Probably ForTheEvulz.
* MoralityPet: A…weird case with Fluttercruel. She's just as monstrous as he is, and it doesn't look like she's actually changing him for the better by any stretch, but she's the only being in the world he seems to ''genuinely'' care about and the only one he treats with any semblance of kindness.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone:
** [[spoiler:As surprising as it sounds, after Fluttercruel's death, he actually begins showing guilt for his crimes, particularly for not realizing Fluttercruel was Discorded from birth.]]
** [[spoiler:We later find out he feels this way about ''all'' his crimes but the Nameless Passenger won't let him break character enough to act on it.]]
* MythologyGag: He tries out a new kind of spell that makes ponies insanely happy and also causes their cutie marks to expand and cover half of their bodies, a reference to the [[http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/Category:Twice_As_Fancy_Ponies Twice-as-Fancy Ponies]] from G1.
* NotMeThisTime: [[spoiler:The Voice accuses him of being the one who foiled her attempt to make Twilight go full-on HeWhoFightsMonsters and become a vengeance-crazed [[SuperpoweredEvilSide Nightmare]]. Discord replies that he's actually innocent this time]].
* OutlivingOnesOffspring: [[spoiler:Part of Eclipse's torture of him is forcing him to repeatedly relive the death of his daughter Fluttercruel for millions of years]].
* PapaWolf: Notices he feels angry when Fluttercruel is hurt by the Valeyard's sonic attack. He seems perplexed and disgusted by this fact.
* PetTheDog:
** [[spoiler:Spared Apple Pie for making him laugh]].
** [[spoiler:During an AlienInvasion of Equestria, he ended up having a fleeting moment of pity on their ruler and gave him a flower and a full day of health. Even ''he'' doesn't understand why he did it, and is outright furious at himself for it]].
** Subverted with him recreating the Sea Ponies. He didn't feel sorry for his ''genocide'' of the first race; he just missed their music.
** He revives all the puppies in a hundred villages and makes it rain candy (non-chocolate) in them, but what he says afterwards implies he only did so because it was the nonsensical thing for [[EvilOverlord someone like him]] to do.
** He does several good deeds in Hoofington, but outright says he's only doing it because no one sees acts of mercy coming from him, not because he's a good guy.
** When the Elements of Harmony storm his castle, he orders the dirt maids to evacuate to Ponythulhu's domain.
** Just before his final confrontation with the Elements, he restores Screwball and Diamond/Mad Tiara from being a music box and sends them to his backup castle. [[spoiler:He even begs the Element Bearers to spare them after he's dead, which they agree to]].
** [[spoiler: He made Celestia's imprisonment basically her own personal paradise]].
** It's revealed that [[spoiler:he made a HeelFaceTurn loops ago, so these were his true self shining through. But he didn't act on it because Nightmare Eclipse didn't want him to 'break character']].
* PragmaticVillainy:
** He didn't recreate the Sea Ponies out of the good of his heart, he did it because he missed their music.
** He tried to teach Fluttercruel to be less violent. It seems not so much he's disturbed by her AxCrazy personality as she's not getting there's more to chaos than just maiming and killing ponies ForTheEvulz, such as turning an entire city into a crazy, ForcedTransformation parade.
* PuppetKing: [[spoiler:While he doesn't follow her orders and makes his own choices, he can only rule Equestria in a fashion that Nightmare Eclipse allows him to, which happens to be as an EvilOverlord she can take revenge against. If he doesn't, she [[VillainOverride copies his actions from a previous cycle and overrides the action he was going to take]] to force him to remain 'in character'.]]
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: [[spoiler:Finally returns the favor to TheVoice by pointing out the reasons she's trying to give is just her attempt to distract herself from the fact Rancor's betrayal completely derailing her plan and that she can't stand that. He caps it off by [[NotSoDifferentRemark pointing out he's the same way]].]]
* RunningBothSides:
** [[spoiler:It's made clear in the narration that the rebels only exist post-Cadenza BECAUSE Discord has been deliberately keeping them together by fighting on their side incognito. It seems like he does it to give them a HopeSpot, or else everyone would have just dropped dead from despair. Though it seems the Changelings ''aren't'' being manipulated by him, as he's only seen involved with the Virgacorns and Hippogriffs, and Twilight states they have no idea were New Avalon even is.]]
** [[spoiler:He later admits he did it partly because a part of him ''enjoyed'' being 'Wild Tempest' and 'Paradigm Shift'. Given his HeelRealization, it's hard to say how much of his encouragement wasn't genuine.]]
* SadisticChoice: Loves doing this to Traitor Dash.
* ShutUpHannibal: [[spoiler:Ironic as it may be, he manages to do this to The Voice by cutting off her TheReasonYouSuckSpeech and pointing out that, this time, she's just trying to make him feel worse to cope with her own VillainousBreakdown at Rancor throwing a wrench in her works (ironically, by stabbing Discord InTheBack and mortally wounding him), then [[NotSoDifferentRemark comparing the two of them]].]]
* StagedPopulistUprising: He's started quite a few to amuse himself, as he knows they can't win. [[spoiler:Subverted in that his reasons for doing so are ultimately just so he can interact happily with others under a guise Eclipse will allow.]]
* ThisWasHisTrueForm: [[spoiler:Variation. When he dies, his [[BodySurf stolen body]] reverts back to its original form and reveals who he'd actually possessed: Wind Whistler]].
* TheUnfought: [[spoiler:Due to Rancor stabbing him InTheBack, he's never fought. While the heroes do attack him (except Twilight and Apple Pie), he's in no condition to fight back at all and dies without truly being fought.]]
* VictoryIsBoring: Seems to have developed this somewhat.
** The Voice gives him a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech, pointing out that he's ''always'' becoming bored with everything he does and, due to being immortal, he'll eventually become bored with ''everything'', essentially trapping him in a FateWorseThanDeath of his own creation. [[BigShutUp He]] doesn't [[VillainousBreakdown take it well]]. He actually seems ''excited'' that Twilight rebelled, as it means he's finally got something to do that'll be challenging.
** [[spoiler:Turns out this was invoked by Nightmare Paradox as part of his IronicHell]].
* VillainousBreakdown:
** [[spoiler:Had a brief one after finding himself showing a brief moment of empathy for the leader of the alien invaders a massive EnemyMine had to be formed to defeat, left completely berserk trying to figure out ''why'' he did it until he finally calms down.]]
** Apparently had another when Grogar, upon being sealed away, went [[GracefulLoser laughing in his face.]]
** Has a brief one following the Voice giving him a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech.
* VillainousBSOD: Spends most of "The Real Hoof Blues" in one after [[spoiler:Fluttercruel's death. It ultimately turns out that he had one of these ''a long ago'' but Eclipse wouldn't let him act on it]].
* VillainousCrush: Seems he's been somewhat attracted to Pinkie all this time, and takes advantage of the Elements of Harmony attack on his castle to manipulate Angry Pie in such a way that he'll be able to restore her on ''his'' terms, giving him the "Queen of Insanity" he's always wanted.
* VillainOverride: [[spoiler:Ironically, was a victim of this by Nightmare Paradox anytime he tried to 'break character', with her overwriting his actions with his own from another loop to force him to remain the BigBad. She ''tries'' doing this during his final confrontation, but it fails because she doesn't have any 'footage' that can work with his current position.]]
* VillainSong: Sings a version of [[http://youtu.be/gVok-7tDFF8 "Joker's Song"]] called "Disharmonious Duet" with [[spoiler:Fluttercruel about how they're the only ones who enjoy their sadism]] in 'Off Da Rails' part 1.
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: In Sky Ocean. While the majority of the world knows he's an EvilOverlord (and he prefers it that way since without contrast they'll think the world had ''always'' been that way), the ponies of Sky Ocean think he was a hero who 'liberated the world from the order obsessed Alicorns', not knowing the original Sea Pony race was wiped out ''by'' him for a [[EvilIsPetty extremely petty reason]]. WordOfGod states he does this because he likes their music and it's easier for him to rule them this way. [[spoiler:Subverted in the end, however, as he's not exactly a true villain anymore.]]
* VillainWorld: Created one. [[spoiler:Until Eclipse hijacked it.]]
* WeCanRuleTogether: [[spoiler:Before the final battle, he offers the redeemed Pinkie Pie a position as his Queen of Chaos with an EnormousEngagementRing. She politely refuses.]]
* WrittenByTheWinners:
** The history the Sea Ponies in his world know is pretty much the ''opposite'' of what really happened.
** [[spoiler:Spike theorizes that the Discord he lets the Sea Ponies see is the one Discord ''wishes'' he was, but is too afraid to be. Given later developments, it likely ended up being the Discord that he wishes he ''could'' be if Paradox would let him]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Grogar (Dark World)]]
----
* ActuallyPrettyFunny: He found the 'Modern Major EvilOverlord' play based on him to be pretty amusing, according to Scootaloo.
* DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu?: The last thing he did before being banished back to his prison was ''laugh in Discord's face''.
* EvilOverlord: As a bonus, is a firm follower of the EvilOverlordList.
* EvilVersusEvil: Returned from his prison and ended up going to war with Discord.
* {{Expy}}: WordOfGod admits that Grogar was envisioned similar to {{ComicBook/Darkseid}}.
* GracefulLoser: When he was being sealed away again, he apparently ''laughed in Discord's face''.
* HistoricalVillainUpgrade: In-universe and inverted. He was apparently ''downgraded'' in the play shown in-universe, and was far more dangerous when he actually attacked.
* LesserOfTwoEvils: Much of his army joined him simply because they saw him as ''less'' evil than Discord.
* NotSoAboveItAll:
** Despite representing the Order side of OrderVsChaos against Discord and generally portrayed as a serious Darkseid {{Expy}}, according to WordOfGod, the following situation from the "Modern Major EvilOverlord" play ''actually happened'':
---> '''Grogar:''' 'I will not grow a [[BeardOfEvil goatee]]. In the old days they made you look diabolic. Now they just make you look like a disaffected member of Generation X?' [[WhoWritesThisCrap Who wrote this one?]]\
'''Minion:''' ''[raises hand]''\
'''Discord:''' ''[bursts through the wall]'' I just heard! Who wrote that?!\
'''Narration:''' Both titans of evil vaporized said minion together and declared a one-day truce to celebrate.
** According to Scootaloo in LooseCanon, he [[ActuallyPrettyFunny enjoyed]] 'Modern Major EvilOverlord' when he returned again.
* OrderVsChaos: The order to Discord's Chaos. [[spoiler:Ironically, he's ultimately defeated once and for all by [[YinYangBomb Order AND Chaos combined.]]]]
* RankScalesWithAsskicking: While we're not exactly shown, it's implied he was strong enough to be a match for ''[[RealityWarper Discord]]''.
* RegularlyScheduledEvil: After being sealed away, he reappears every 500 years.
* SealedEvilInACan: After he was defeated, he was sealed away again, just like he is every 500 years apparently. This ''really'' annoys Discord because Grogar doesn't even care about it, unlike Discord who hated it when it happened to him. According to LooseCanon RecursiveFanfiction, he returned shortly after Dark World's conclusion and was beaten again [[spoiler:using [[YinYangBomb both sets of Elements.]]]] According to WordOfGod, this time he wasn't put back in his can but instead defeated for good.
* WrongGenreSavvy: Discord and the Chaos Six used his own savvy against him.
* YinYangBomb: [[spoiler:What finally defeated him for good.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Valeyard]]
----
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: According to [[spoiler: Havoc]], he's guilty of multiple acts of torture, murder, MindRape... and stealing several peaches.
* TheAtoner: [[spoiler:Shockingly, he becomes this in the afterlife according to RecursiveFanfiction. Upon arriving in Pony Hell, he's tasked with helping Pinkie Pie save one of her adopted foals, and upon the way rediscovers that GoodFeelsGood. Afterwards, he turns down a lighter sentence in order to help the souls pulling Havoc's chariot find redemption, wondering if one day he might earn it himself. According to WordOfGod, this was due to his death allowing the memories of his past selves more influence on him, giving him at least some moral framework to build on.]]
* BeingTorturedMakesYouEvil:
** In a way; it's strongly implied that Discord tortured and killed the Doctor repeatedly until he regenerated into someone as twisted as him. Though as opposed to most examples, it wasn't so much that the Doctor was DrivenToMadness as he regenerated so many times the Valeyard persona (said to be the personification of all the Doctor's inner evil and darker qualities) finally came to the surface.
** [[spoiler: Played straight in at least one other time loop where the 'Valeyard' is a pegasi!Doctor gone LaughingMad.]]
* BigBadWannabe: Is undoubtedly a ''very'' dangerous enemy (all his plans come dangerously close to killing the group) and ''thinks'' he's TheManBehindTheMan to Discord, but ultimately isn't as big a threat as Discord is and is defeated before he is.
* BloodFromTheMouth: After [[spoiler:Derpy mortally wounds him. Justified, as she pretty much crushed his chest.]]
* BreakHerByTalking: Does this to [[spoiler:Apple Pie and Derpy, Apple Pie by using the fact her favorite comic book series ended on a DownerEnding (he was only telling [[BittersweetEnding a half truth]]) and the Mane Cast's loss to Discord 1000 years prior to tear down her belief heroes can win, and Derpy by revealing he's just going to keep regenerating back into the Valeyard and has ''infinite'' regenerations, thus there's ''no'' getting the Doctor back (he's lying there too). It works better on Apple Pie, driving her into a HeroicBSOD and Discording her, but Derpy breaking through hers snaps her out of it]].
* TheChessmaster: Came to the fight having planned for pretty much ''everything'' that might be thrown at him. Though that also backfires a little bit in that he had everything planned out from the get go, [[IndyPloy the heroes made it up as they went along.]]
* ColdBloodedTorture: Some of his tactics for dealing with the Element Bearers fall into this, most notably using a frequency on two sonic screwdrivers that would slowly kill the group in an agonizingly painful way if not stopped. He seems to enjoy it.
* CrazyPrepared:
** Is prepared for pretty much everything the Elements of Harmony throw at him [[spoiler: including an attempted [[TheCorruption corruption]] when Twilight tries the memory spell on him]]. The only thing he ''isn't'' prepared for is [[spoiler: Derpy realizing he's using a regeneration template to maintain his identity.]]
--> '''The Valeyard:''' Who could have predicted this?! Oh right! Me!
** [[spoiler:According to RecursiveFanfiction, he even kept a backup copy of his personality in the TARDIS programmed to take over the Doctor and restore his identity in case he ever actually was forced to regenerate. Fortunately, he loses the resulting BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind.]]
* DidntSeeThatComing: [[spoiler:The Element Bearers managing to figure out he's using a regeneration template and where it is. He also didn't see [[BackupFromOtherworld his former companion Roseluck returning from beyond the grave as one of Rarity's rock puppets to help defeat him.]]]]
* TheDragon: Like Fluttercruel, he seems set up as this now that Twilight's been redeemed. Though he seems to see himself as the BigBad instead of Discord. He's actually the BigBadWannabe, however.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: [[spoiler:At least according to RecursiveFanfiction, he was outright horrified when he discovered Paradox's GroundhogDayLoop plan and realized just how many lives she'd destroyed through it. He hints that the number of the lives ended by her is high beyond understanding.]]
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Believes allies only hinder one's progress and can't seem to understand why the heroes just won't refuse to give up. [[spoiler:The former leads to his downfall, as he's defeated via teamwork on the group's part.]]
* EvilChancellor: Possibly. We haven't really seen much of him, but he's definitely in Discord's inner circle.
* ExplainingYourPowerToTheEnemy: Has a habit of bragging about his plans when he snared his enemies with them. Most likely due to how huge his ego is; he can't stand not to let his enemies know how he got the better of them. To be fair, it's only ''very'' quick thinking and being outnumbered that this isn't too late for them to do anything about it.
* FaceHeelTurn: Used to be the Doctor, before Discord got his claws in him.
* FallenHero: Is a pure evil regeneration of the Doctor.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Keeps the Doctor's mannerisms, but lost all of his heroic qualities. Because of this, he gleefully treats situations like threatening to kill someone's daughter with the same air someone would treat talking about the weather.
* FinalSpeech: [[spoiler:After being mortally wounded and his template destroyed, he gives one last short speech before he regenerates...implying that the heroes might just be the {{Unwitting Pawn}}s of someone else (It's later confirmed he was talking about Nightmare Paradox).]]
* AGodAmI: Is on a full-on Time Lord Victorious power trip. Only unlike the Doctor, he lacks any moral restraint to hold him back. He even thinks himself superior to [[TopGod the Elders]].
* GoodFeelsGood: [[spoiler:Helping Pinkie Pie save one of her foals from Pony Hell reminds him of this in RecursiveFanfiction, beginning his own path to redemption. [[WordOfGod According to the writer]], this was enabled by his death allowing the echos of his past selves to finally influence him.]]
* HeelRealization: [[spoiler:A RecursiveFanfiction piece has this happen to him (in Hell no less), when he realizes he's not the ultimate incarnation of the Doctor, because the next regeneration was another ''Doctor'' not another ''Valeyard'', admitting that the possibility of that was exactly why he feared dying so much. This causes him to question his logic and realize he'd done nothing but replace his old enemies with himself.]]
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: [[spoiler:His insistence on dealing with the heroes personally without help leaves him at a disadvantage against the hero's numbers once they get past his tricks. He also makes the mistake of performing a KickTheDog on Derpy instead of keeping an eye on the others, allowing them to survive what otherwise would've killed them. This in turn bites him in the flank when his torture of Derpy pushes her passed the RageBreakingPoint and she [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown beats him to death]] after his regeneration template is destroyed.]]
* {{Irony}}:
** [[spoiler:Tells the girls that they shouldn't rely on their immortality because they never know when they'll not have it. Guess what position he finds himself in at the end of the fight?]]
** There's also the fact that he tells Apple Pie all she does is [[HopeBringer bring hope to ponies.]] [[spoiler:At the end of the fight, she kicks him in the horn, setting things up for Derpy to finish him off.]]
* ItsAllAboutMe: A DeletedScene has him upset Traitor Dash was defeated…because he'd scammed her into being his own personal mare servant in exchange for trips on the TARDIS ([[YankTheDogsChain without actually giving her a way to get when she wanted to]]) so now he doesn't have a decent cook. While WordOfGod said this is non canon, they also said this is entirely in character for him.
* JustBetweenYouAndMe: Exposits on his motives while seemingly having the upperhoof on the group and assured of his victory. It naturally backfires.
* KickTheDog:
** He outright says he had plenty of hostages he could've chose from, it seems he chose Sparkler for his SadisticChoice specifically to hurt Derpy.
** he goes out of his way to hurt and torment Derpy specifically in whatever manner he can in 'The Ultimate Foe'.
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:While the Doctor lived on, the destruction of the Valeyard's template followed by him being [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown beaten to death by Derpy]] effectively killed the Valeyard off. Discord even theorizes, and it's later confirmed, that the Valeyard himself may have gone straight to Hell after being killed while the Doctor continued on]].
* LastOfHisKind: Last of the Time Lords, just like in the original series. Only in this case, it's more true since he personally killed the Master for good.
* MaliciousMisnaming: Everyone except Discord keeps getting his name wrong (Barnyard, Junkyard, etc), usually on purpose as an insult.
* MythologyGag: His RunningGag of MaliciousMisnaming mentioned above is a homage to the original serial where the Doctor insulted the Valeyard in this fashion throughout the episode.
* NoSell: [[spoiler:Manages to ''laugh off'' the Memory Spell. Likely because, unlike the corrupted mane six, the Valeyard is evil in and of himself. Though it is implied it undid the Discording on the base time lord himself.]]
* NotBrainwashed: [[spoiler:Unlike Discord's other servants, the Valeyard isn't tainted by Discord (the Doctor, and thus the base time lord, was, but the Valeyard incarnation isn't), which goes with the original series presenting him as the personification of the Doctor's inner evil and negative traits. This is why he's able to NoSell the Memory Spell.]]
* OhCrap: Has a satisfying one [[spoiler:when the heroes figure out he's using a template to keep regenerating into the Valeyard instead of another incarnation of the Doctor. [[VillainousBreakdown His life takes a downward spiral from there.]]]]
* SadisticChoice: Poses one to the heroes to get them to stop; surrender to him or he kills Sparkler. Derpy does ''exactly'' what she said she would do and (despite clearly breaking her heart to do so) chooses to save the world. It turns out that [[spoiler:that Sparkler was a fake]], it was all just to lure them into his trap.
* SelfMutilationDemonstration: Derpy snaps his neck, hoping it'll force him to regenerate back into the Doctor. Instead, he regenerates right back into the Valeyard (but as a unicorn rather than an earth pony), smugly revealing that Discord gave him infinite regenerations as a reward for his service, and fatally stabs himself in the heart and regenerates again as himself just to prove his point. [[spoiler:It backfires when his lack of earth pony strength leaves him unable to resist Derpy and Applejack holding him down, allowing Rarity to slice him open and [[OutOfContinues destroy his regeneration template.]]]]
* ShadowArchetype: To the Doctor himself. He possesses all of the Doctor's negative traits (his ego, his manipulative abilities, and even a full on [[AGodAmI Time Lord Victorious power trip]]), but none of his positives. Also, where the Doctor has faith in his companions, the Valeyard believes allies only hinder one's progress. While the Doctor has on many occasions been willing to [[HeroicSacrifice sacrifice himself]] to save others, the Valeyard seems absolutely terrified of [[spoiler:permanently]] dying. He also notably is a ChessMaster, but doesn't seem as good as the Doctor when it comes to performing an IndyPloy. Fitting, as the Valeyard was explained by the Master in the original series to be the personification of the Doctor's inner evil and darker qualities.
* TheStarscream: Plans to one day overthrow Discord and, by one way or another obtain his powers and conquer the universe.
* TheStrategist: Seems to be his role, as he was the one who orchestrated the defense during the AlienInvasion.
* TemptingFate: [[spoiler:Tells the immortal members of the cast they rely on their immortality too much. In the end, he's the one left absolutely terrified of dying when they discover his regeneration template and destroy it along with his form of immortality.]]
* ThatManIsDead: He says this about his former the Doctor, repeatedly stating he's never coming back. [[spoiler: He's lying, because he's only able to retain control due to having a regeneration template. Once that's gone, the Doctor returns.]]
* UnderestimatingBadassery: Due to thinking AGodAmI, he believed beating the heroes would be a cake walk, but, while he ''did'' nearly kill them several times, he ultimately severely underestimated them. Special mention goes to Apple Pie and Derpy. He believed the former was nothing but an easily broken child who's only power was to [[HopeBringer bring hope to the others]] and Derpy was a retarded idiot who he'd be able to easily manipulate. The former ends up kicking him square in the head hard enough to leave him vulnerable for the latter to [[spoiler:[[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown beat him to death]].]] He also didn't realize Derpy was smart enough [[spoiler:to figure out how he kept regenerating into the Valeyard.]]
* VillainousBreakdown: Has one when [[spoiler: the Elements of Harmony find out that he's using a template to keep his personality while regenerating]], and frantically tries to stop them from exploiting this.
* VillainsWantMercy: [[spoiler:As Derpy [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown beat him to death]] (after his regeneration template was destroyed, meaning one more death and the Valeyard persona is KilledOffForReal), he begs her to spare him because they're 'friends'. Derpy replies that she's [[IronicEcho the Doctor's friend, and the Doctor is out]] before crushing his hearts and killing him.]]
* VillainTeamUp: At least how he views himself and Discord, Discord seems to see him more as simply a minion while the Valeyard sees Discord as ''his'' minion.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Crows]]
----
* CreepyCrows: They're a flock of crows that endlessly torment Derpy as she walks endlessly around Discord's castle, by trying to eat Dinky (who's been turned into a muffin).
* DishingOutDirt: Once Applejack figures out that they're made of the dirt surrounding the castle, Twilight and Derpy are able to get rid of them by creating a tornado that sucks up the entire layer of dirt they're made from and teleporting it to Ponythulhu's domain.
* HealingFactor: If they're destroyed, more of them simply appear from an unknown source. It turns out that they can create more of themselves from the dirt surrounding the castle.
* ItCanThink: They can learn new tactics to deal with different obstacles, like having the flock split in two to dodge Spike's fire breath. However, they are not sentient, being magical constructs "programmed" to fulfill a singular purpose.
* NoSell: Illusion magic can't fool or distract them, as they're programmed to always know where Dinky is and will always pursue her.
* StarterVillain: The first enemy faced by Applejack, Twilight, and Spike after they regain their memories.
* SuperPersistentPredator: They never stop trying to eat Dinky and have been coming after her for a thousand years.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tom Belle]]
-->'''Voiced by''': Ian Murphy
----
* AlasPoorVillain: Is only a villain at all because of his UndyingLoyalty to his mother and being too young to know any better. As a result, Applejack is forced to kill him in the resulting fight. Rarity mourning him makes it all the more tragic.
* BackFromTheDead: [[spoiler:He is one of those Queen Libra is allowed to bring back.]]
* BecomeARealBoy: [[spoiler:When resurrected, he's now a flesh and blood pony and a little colt.]]
* ChildrenAreInnocent: Has a child-like mentality due to only being a few minutes old, and genuinely didn't know any better than to do what Rarity desired. This makes his death rather tragic.
* ColorCodedWizardry: The first sign that he's truly a living being rather than just another of Rarity's puppets is that he has an orange magic glow, different from her blue one or Discord's yellow one.
* CreatingLifeIsUnforeseen: Accidentally brought to life by the power of Rarigreed's love combined with her Element of Greed.
* {{Expy}}: Possibly unintentional, but he shares some notable similarities with Entei from ''[[Anime/Pokemon3 Pokémon 3: Spell of the Unown]].'' Both are powerful beings magically created from another character's strong desire to have a figure that would love and protect them. The heroes try to convince them to stand down because their creator is caught up in a fantasy they need to be brought out of, but they only follow their creator's wishes out of love, because that is all they know how to do. In the end they are defeated and die a tragic death, but not before being able to exchange final words with their creator, promising to be with them again someday.
* GemHeart: Has organs and bones despite being made of stone, including blood composed of orange energy. This naturally includes his heart.
* GemstoneAssault: One of his main means of offense is this, transforming stone into diamonds and using them as shields or shooting them as piercing projectiles.
* GemTissue: His mane, tail, hooves, cutie mark, and armor are composed of diamond and as hard as one would think.
* {{Golem}}: Tom is a lifeless stone statue that [[ThePowerOfLove gets a soul through love]] and fights to protect his maker. [[AlasPoorVillain He even has the requisite tragic death]]. [[spoiler:He's resurrected as a flesh and blood pony however.]]
* HeroOfAnotherStory: An alternate version of him survived and became an Element of Loyalty.
* InstantExpert: Seconds after being born, he already knows how to use powerful battle magic and does so against Spike.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: Pretty much his primary goal in regards to Rarity.
* KilledOffForReal:
** Is mortally wounded by Applejack in the fight and dies after saying goodbye to Rarity, but his soul is seen entering Pony Heaven escorted by [[spoiler:Sweetie Belle.]]
** [[spoiler:Subverted in the end, when Queen Libra is allowed to resurrect ponies who died from Discord's actions, including him.]]
* KnightInShiningArmor: How he acts, though considering he was born from Rarity, that's no surprise.
* LivingStatue: Was brought to life by Rarity's Element of Chaos, but is a fully sentient, living thing.
* LongHairedPrettyBoy: His mane is described as long, flowing and crystalline.
* LoveImbuesLife: Rarigreed's desire to have her love be real brought him to life (though, she ultimately decides he's her son).
* ObliviouslyEvil: Genuinely believed he was protecting Rarity by fighting the heroes due to being born to protect her, yet his mindset was too childlike for him to know any better than what she told him or perceive what he was doing was wrong.
* OurHomunculiAreDifferent: Was born of Rarity's desire for "Tom" to be real, but is truly alive and has a soul and a heartbeat.
* PrinceCharming: Also how he acts.
* RuleOfSymbolism: He has a cutie mark, despite being created as an adult stallion. A cutie mark is only supposed to appear when a pony discovers their special talent on their own, but Tom had a role pre-written for him as Rarity's perfect knight and prince.
* TakenForGranite: Has this ability, and nearly does it to Spike during their fight before he's stopped.
* TragicVillain: He may have tried his hardest to stop the group from freeing Rarity, but he genuinely didn't know what he was doing was wrong and all he wanted to do was make her happy.
* UndyingLoyalty: Rarity created him, on accident, and he's devoted to her as her KnightInShiningArmor to the point of being willing to die for her. [[spoiler:Which he does.]]
* VocalDissonance: His voice is described as handsome, but with a certain quality that evokes a naive colt.
* WifeHusbandry: [[spoiler:Inverted. Rarity (while discorded) creates him in the image of her ideal husband and knight, but when he is resurrected as a little colt, she decides that he is her son.]]
* YeOldeButcheredeEnglishe: He speaks like this, because he was made to be Rarity's perfect knight and husband.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: Is only a newborn, but was "born" a full grown stallion. It shows in some of his actions and the fact he honestly didn't know any better than what he was doing.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Rancor (Dark World)]]
!!Rancor (Dark World)[[spoiler:/Disruption]]
-->'''Voiced by''': TBA
----
* AchillesHeel: Her reliance on the passions of her enemies; if they fight calmly, they're able to actually her.
* AffablyEvil: Though whether or not she could actually be called 'evil' is debatable. [[spoiler:Her motivation was simply to retrieve Destruction's power and take his place; after doing that, she leaves.]]
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: Of Revenge, Violence, and Passions, according to herself when she was a few minutes old. [[spoiler:And eventually, Destruction. If the name she chooses afterwards and the role she played in Dark World is any indication, she may also embody Disruptions.]]
* AntiHero: [[spoiler:She's actually this, as her reason for being sent was to take back Destruction's power from Discord so it could be used for it's actual purpose (Destruction's role as a cosmic force of nature) rather than just Discord's sadistic games. However, shes' willing to do more or less whatever she has to do to succeed, including fighting the mane six and helping the Valeyard until she gets her moment.]]
* AntiVillain: Type IV, she's not opposing the mane six out of any malevolence, but because she was ordered to, and is more or less a FriendlyEnemy. [[spoiler:She's actually an AntiHero]].
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: The youngest of the Draconequi, we see her hatching from an egg during Dark World. [[spoiler:She was literally born to steal back Destruction's power from Discord.]]
* BadassBoast:
** Said when she's ''literally'' a few minutes old (and still adorable).
---> '''Rancor:''' ...I am revenge. I am violence. I am passions. I am rancid to the core. I am one of the winds of chaos. I am nature's fury against nature's law. I am of the Draconequi!
** Gets another one during her BigEntrance into Discord's throne room:
--->"I am Rancor Adrestia Typhon, Animosity. All behold me, and give into your passions! Your rages! Your lusts! Your dramas! Bring forth the blood of all who have wronged you upon my altar!"
** Another one when she [[spoiler:steals Destruction's power from Discord]]:
--->"Follow your passions, let the fire devour you, become the fire itself. Let loose the savage that exists inside each of you. And bring destruction on those who you crave revenge against."
* BastardUnderstudy: [[spoiler:Was plotting against Discord the whole time, and was only waiting for the right moment to strike.]]
* BigEntrance: Her emergence into the mortal world is this, resulting in shockwaves and other effects as she manifests.
* BloodKnight: Believes someone's true passions can only be seen in a fierce battle. Which is exactly what she wants to have with the heroes.
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: Responds to Rarity's distaste with her violent preferences by pointing out she ''is'' Violence and thus she's naturally bloodthirsty. She also points out that some of her personality traits are due to being an immature Concept, and thus she's naturally shallow.
* BodyHorror: Is able to shed her skin like a snake; that means exiting her body through ''her own mouth''.
* CallingYourAttacks: Lampshaded; when she announces which bones she's going to break, Spike calls her out on this being tactically stupid.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Justified; due to being the embodiment of Passions, she can be rather unstable. She's so random that Twilight finds her more confusing than ''Discord''.
* CoolUncle: Gender-inverted; Fluttercruel seems to see her as one.
* DaddysLittleVillain: Is implied to be very close to [[TopGod Havoc]].
* TheDitz: Has shades of this, in that she interrupts the Duel of Tears in order to get Rarity's autograph.
* TheDragon: Seems to have taken this role to her brother, considering she was sent to work for him by their parents and [[PhysicalGod is by far his most powerful follower.]]
* ExpectingSomeoneTaller: Says this about Discord. He says it's because he slouches.
* FalseReassurance: [[spoiler:Promises Discord that she's watching his back. This is where she plunges her spear.]]
* FoeRomanceSubtext: While one-sided, she has a crush on Spike. She takes this to the extreme of challenging Rarity for Spike (Rarity and Spike fight her [[BattleCouple together anyway]]).
* FriendlyEnemy: During her first meeting with the heroes she doesn't really do much of anything remotely evil and is actually quite sociable. Unlike [[FauxAffablyEvil Discord]], it seems genuine in her case. She even interrupts the Duel of Tears to ask Rarity for an autograph.
* GameFace: She has ''shark teeth'', but she only shows them when doing something particularly violent or about to actually fight. Same goes with her claws. Her eyes are also described as being those of a wolf during this, but whether they changed or this is just the first time attention is drawn to them hasn't been said.
* GoodAllAlong: [[spoiler:Was actually sent to steal back Destruction's power from Discord so it could be used for its actual purpose instead of his games, rather than help him fight the mane cast. She even wounds Twilight with her Spear in such a way that it triggers during the FinalBattle and stuns Nightmare Eclipse before leaving.]]
* HaveWeMetYet: Thanks Twilight for the ribbon she keeps tied to her spear, much to Twilight's surprise, as this was the first time (from her perspective) that she'd met Rancor.
* HiddenAgendaVillain: [[spoiler:Her actual reason for being in the epilogue timeline and becoming her brother Discord's apprentice - she wanted to steal Destruction's power from Discord for herself and use it as it was actually intended. The story about her being sent by her Parents was just an alibi. She eventually succeeds in her goal]].
* HoistByHerOwnPetard: Defied, she doesn't use her spear during the fight, despite it being her most powerful weapon, ''specifically'' because it could be used against her. She even name-drops the trope.
** That said, her insistence on fighting Spike -- who's the most passionate of the heroes -- bites her in the ass when [[spoiler: he figures out how to actually hurt her]].
* HotBlooded: She is the concept of Violence and Passions, and loves it when her opponents go all out in a fight.
* ItWasAGift: Her spear was a birthday present from Strife, she implies the ribbon she had tied to [[TimeTravelTenseTrouble will have been]] one from Twilight.
* MadGod: Justified, due to being the living embodiment of [[HotBlooded Passions]].
* MeaningfulRename: [[spoiler:She adopts the name "Disruption" after stealing and absorbing Destruction's stolen power from Discord]].
* MythologyGag: Apparently is a fan of [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyTales The Rockin' Beats]].
* NighInvulnerability:
** As she explains and demonstrates, you can knock her around all you want, but you can't beat the concept of violence ''with'' violence. Because of this, she's more or less able to shrug off everything the heroes throw at her.
** Turns out her weakness is things that aren't technically violence, like weighing her down and letting gravity slam her into something or letting her run herself through with her own momentum. She also states that she hasn't learned how to erase damage yet.
* NobleDemon: Doesn't take advantage of the heroes while they're tired or weak, and even protects several of them from an explosion during the fight. Justified as she's not really evil, she was just sent to help Discord by their Parents [[spoiler:(in actuality, to steal Destruction's power back from him)]].
* NothingPersonal: Her conflict with the main cast really ''isn't'', she has nothing against them and actually likes them, it's just her parents sent her to help Discord (for reasons yet to be explained). [[BloodKnight She does enjoy fighting them]], but has nothing against them personally.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: Defied: as the concept of violence, revenge, and passions, she explains that Eye For an Eye and No More and No Less than an Eye isn't revenge, revenge is taking BOTH eyes.
* PetTheDog: [[spoiler:Gives Apple Pie the last few pages of [[ComicBook/WhateverHappenedToTheManOfTomorrow the comic the Valeyard gave her]], revealing what the Valeyard presented as a DownerEnding to actually be a BittersweetEnding, and swears to Entropy that there's no strings attached.]]
* {{Physical God}}dess: As a Draconequus, she's a goddess with power to match.
* PlotRelevantAgeUp: [[spoiler:When she absorbs Destruction's essence from Discord, she rapidly ages into an adult draconequus, as she finally became complete with the power.]]
* PowerIncontinence: Subverted. [[spoiler:WordOfGod has stated her body is custom made to use Destruction's power without the problems he and to some degree Discord (who they made somewhat more unhinged than he already was, but that's not saying much) had with it.]]
* PowerParasite: [[spoiler:Rips Destruction's essence out of Discord and consumes it. This was actually her mission the entire time and she was ''literally'' made to be compatible with it.]]
* PunchClockVillain: When it's not her turn to try to kill the mane six, she has no animosity towards them at all (ironic, considering that's one of the things she embodies) and is [[FriendlyEnemy downright friendly]] towards them. Justified as it's ''literally'' just something she was ordered to do. [[spoiler:This is proven when she actually gets what she was sent to get (Destruction's essence from Discord). After completing her transformation into an adult as a result, she bids the heroes farewell, opens a portal to Oblivion, and leaves to go to a party her family is having to celebrate her success.]]
* {{Revenge}}: One of the things she represents. As such, Angry Pie is her favorite of the Chaos Six.
* SeeYouInHell: Tells the Valeyard to make sure and tell her Father hi when he gets to Pony Hell after he {{Blackmail}}s her into helping him. [[spoiler:Amusingly, he actually does, at least according to RecursiveFanfiction.]]
* SixthRanger: To Discord's side. [[spoiler:She becomes a SixthRangerTraitor once her motives for joining Discord are revealed]].
* SixthRangerTraitor: [[spoiler:Turns out her reason for being sent in the first place was to rip Destruction's essence out of him and absorb it, causing her to evolve into her adult state. She then promptly leaves him to die to return to the Draconequi dimension.]]
* SpannerInTheWorks: Ends up being one to the Voice's (and pretty much ''everyone's'') plans by [[spoiler: betraying Discord]], which came out of nowhere. Even more so because she didn't ''care'' she disrupted anyone's plans in the process. [[spoiler:There's a good reason she renames herself Disruption.]]
* ThickerThanWater:
** Has nothing against the Elements of Harmony personally, but between orders from Her Parents and wanting to protect her niece and brother, she has no problem fighting them.
** [[spoiler: Doesn't stop her from literally stabbing Discord in the back to get Destruction's power. That said, she doesn't finish him off, saying she doesn't have a reason to kill her own brother, and the Draconequi's idea of 'fair punishment' tends to be a tad excessive by mortal standards due to their BlueAndOrangeMorality]].
* TransformationSequence: [[spoiler:When she transforms into her adult form. Also, TransformationIsAFreeAction is justified, as interrupting it would've caused a gigantic explosion taking out at the very least Equestria.]]
* {{Tykebomb}}: Is stated to have been born for a specific purpose. [[spoiler:This turns out to be steal Destruction's power back from Discord. She is even explicitly stated she becomes complete by consuming it and WordOfGod has said she was designed by Her Parents to be able to use it without experiencing negative effects like her brothers did.]]
* VillainExitStageLeft: [[spoiler:After stealing Destruction's power from Discord, she abandons him and returns to the Draconequi dimension. Thought at this point, how much of a 'villain' she is is debatable.]]
* VillainousBreakdown: Has a relatively mild one when [[spoiler:Spike turns the fight around and]] she actually starts feeling ''pain''. She goes from smug AffablyEvil villainous to whining like any teen not getting their way. Justified because she ''is'' a teenager and being immune to violence means she hasn't gotten hurt all that much, and thus hasn't experienced pain frequently enough to build up a tolerance to it.
* WildCard: While she is working for Discord, she has no real animosity towards the heroes and on occasion, when it isn't her turn to fight, helps them if it doesn't directly harm her brother [[spoiler:such as giving Apple Pie the last pages of the comic the Valeyard used in an attempt to break her, revealing it had a BittersweetEnding instead of a DownerEnding]]. Also, her true motives are unknown to everyone. [[spoiler:It turns out her ''true'' side was her family's, as her mission was to reclaim Destruction's power from Discord so it could go back to being used for its intended purpose.]]
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: [[spoiler:In a rather odd variation, she pulls this on her ''spear''. Once she's gotten her use out of it, she takes the ribbon off it and uses Destruction's power to obliterate it.]]

[[folder:Golden Tiara (Dark World)/Screwball]]
The mother of Diamond Tiara.
----
* ActionMom: Is more active as Diamond's mother in this verse, due to Diamond ''also'' being insane, but still very badass. [[spoiler:She maintains this after her HeelFaceTurn, fighting in the second Grogar War.]]
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler:Apparently joined Minty and the Changeling Rangers in pulling one of these to save the bearers from a group of minions Grogar made specifically to take them out.]]
* CoDragons: Was this with her daughter to Discord before the mane six got 'broken in'.
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: As shown in the main timeline, she was ''already'' a badass before, but Discord gave her toon powers.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Genuinely loves her 'uncle' Discord and her daughter. The feeling seems mutual.
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:After Nightmare Eclipse is defeated, she comes to work for Queen Libra and her insanity is cured. According to Loose Canon, she helped fight Grogar's army when he returned.]]
* KangarooCourt: Held one in Manehattan at some point in Discord's reign.
* MamaBear: This aspect of her original persona is still intact [[spoiler:as shown when she saved Diamond and the other Bearers from Grogar's anti-Elements squad.]]
* NotBrainwashed: [[spoiler:Her love of Discord is completely genuine and she and Diamond still love him after their HeelFaceTurn]].
* Really700YearsOld: Was made immortal by Discord, so she hasn't aged a day despite being over a thousand years old.
* SealedEvilInACan: Spent the time since her 'retirement' as a living doll in a music box, though apparently this was fairly enjoyable. [[spoiler:Discord releases her, but forbids her from fighting the Elements]].
* ToonPhysics: Discord gave her this as a ''power'' when he made her TheDragon.
* TheUnfought: Despite being among Discord's remaining minions, she's never fought by the Dark World Mane Six [[spoiler:because Discord [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes sent her away because he knew she couldn't win and she makes a HeelFaceTurn soon after.]]]]

[[folder:Diamond Tiara (Dark World)/Mad Tiara]]
Golden Tiara's daughter, and a minion of Discord.
----
* TheAtoner: [[spoiler:After her HeelRealization, she realizes all she's ever done is cause ponies misery, and decides to make up for it, starting with Scootaloo.]]
* CoDragons: With her mother to Discord until the Mane Six were 'broken in'.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Genuinely loves her mother and Discord and appears to have joined him so she could be with her mother. The feeling is mutual. [[spoiler:She still loves him after regaining her sanity and performing a HeelFaceTurn]].
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:After Nightmare Eclipse's defeat, she joins Queen Libra and had her insanity cured. She even becomes Fluttercruel's replacement as Element of Cruelty.]]
* HeelRealization: [[spoiler:Had one upon seeing Discord's, meaning her attempts to make him happy had ''hurt'' him instead.]]
* InSpiteOfANail: Despite the drastically different circumstances, she still ended up [[spoiler:being TheDragon to Discord to be with her mother, though in this case, she gets a HappyEnding instead of going Nightmare.]]
* KarmaHoudini: [[spoiler:Scootaloo accuses her of being this. Diamond actually agrees with her as a part of her HeelRealization and offers her the chance to give her the karma they think she deserves.]]
* MeaningfulEcho: [[spoiler:After being reunited with the resurrected Silver Spoon and agreeing to be her friend again, the two do their hoofshake, this time in a more heartwarming context]].
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: [[spoiler:Had this reaction upon realizing she was making Discord ''more'' miserable due to Eclipse's plan, triggering her HeelRealization.]]
* NotBrainwashed: [[spoiler:Played with. While Discord ''did'' drive her crazy, she implies she ''let'' him do so so she could be with her mother and after becoming sane again, truly loves him as her uncle and ''thanks'' him for doing it, even if she admits her actions while insane were wrong.]]
* Really700YearsOld: Discord made her and her mother immortal, so even a thousand years later, she still looks like a filly.
* RedeemingReplacement: [[spoiler:Becomes this to Fluttercruel. Despite being the Element of Cruelty and still a bit crazy, she's on the hero's side and isn't an AxCrazy SerialKiller. She represents it by being cruel to ''bad'' ponies now, however]].
* SealedEvilInACan: Like her mother, she was turned into a music box doll after her 'retirement', though it wasn't that bad of a fate. [[spoiler:Discord releases her but sends her away so she won't die fighting the Bearers and she makes a HeelFaceTurn soon after.]]
* ShadowArchetype: To the main timeline Diamond. [[spoiler:Like her, she took a DealWithTheDevil with Discord to be with her mother and went insane, and eventually came to the realization her life had revolved around causing others misery and the feelings of worthlessness to come from that. However, where main Diamond became a nihilistic [[SuperpoweredEvilSide Nightmare]], Dark World Diamond made it into a legit HeelRealization and resolved to become a better pony to give her life meaning.]] According to WordOfGod, this was entirely intentional.
* ToonPhysics: Like her mother, she got these from Discord as a power. [[spoiler:She keeps them after her HeelFaceTurn and is the only new Bearer who seems to use them over her Element of Chaos power.]]
* TheUnfought:
** Like her mother, the Bearers never face off against her because [[spoiler:Discord sends her away because [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes Discord doesn't want them to die]] and makes a HeelFaceTurn soon after.]]
** This is part of the reason [[spoiler:Scootaloo was upset with her. Ironically, offering Scootaloo a chance to fight her if it would help put their past behind them is what convinces her to give Diamond a second chance.]]
* WordsCanBreakMyBones: [[spoiler:Her power as Element of Cruelty causes physical pain akin to being cut in proportion to how painful her words hurt the target. She implies she can ''literally'' cut if she hits hard enough but hasn't confirmed this is the case.]]

[[folder:The Sirens (Dark World)]]
The Dark World versions of the Sirens.
----
* AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs: After forcing Eclipse and her Nightmare Gallery to retreat, they then proceed to track them through the link they were using to try and contact Twilight and break into the Nightmare Stable before trashing the place until Eclipse gives the order to abandon it.
* AlwaysABiggerFish: The suffering, hate, and grief perpetuated in the Dark World by Nightmare Eclipse [[EmotionEater are like an all-you-can-eat buffet to them,]] propelling their power to insane levels.
* BigBad: Adagio shares it with [[BigBadEnsemble Nightmare Eclipse]] in the 'Sirens vs Nightmares' Gaiden before outright taking the seat from the latter altogether. Note that while the Sirens are immortal, they are only as old as the time period from G2 to G4 with a few hundred to a thousand years in the human world thrown in. Meanwhile, Nightmare Eclipse has been pulling Discord's strings for at least ''several hundred millions of years''.
* BreathWeapon: As shown in flashbacks with the Pillers in canon, the Sirens can fire a powerful beam of red energy from their mouths. They figure out they can create a sonic cutter from their mouths as well.
* TheDreaded: Notably, they are among the only beings in all the time loops to actually make Nightmare Eclipse ''panic''. The Gaiden story featuring this loop shows ''why'': The negativity of Dark World supercharges them to a level that let's them fight the Nightmare Gallery head on and Adagio spell copies Eclipse's ResetButton spell.
* DumbassNoMore: Sonata's brain damage from trying to wear the Alicorn Amulet regenerates due to how much more powerful the Sirens ultimately become. Thus, in addition to being much stronger, she's returned to her original, high intelligence.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes:
** As bad as they are, they still love one another and their two deceased sisters. The first thought Sonata has after they find Nightmare Eclipse's time spell and threaten to usurp the timeline is they could use it to save them. In the potential future were they successfully rewrote history, their sisters rule equally with them.
** Aside from thinking about how powerful they are upon stepping foot in Equestria, they also rejoice at the return of the Seaponies as a whole, as they were all dead by the time Starswirl banished them to the human world.
* EvilerThanThou:
** Quickly pull this on Sunset Shimmer in the timeline where she managed to break open the portal to Dark World and usurp her as the BigBad.
** PlayedWith in regards to Eclipse: When Twilight didn't reset the timeline, they defeat Nightmare Eclipse and flat out threaten to usurp her control over the timeline, but Twilight considers them less ''evil'' than Eclipse, as while their timeline would be horrible, at least they'll only reset it ''once''.
* EvilVersusEvil: At one point in the time loop, they broke through into Equestria and fought Nightmare Eclipse and her Gallery of Nightmares. This is eventually detailed in the 'Sirens vs Nightmares' Gaiden story. In the timeline where Twilight didn't reset time, they outright ''won'' the fight.
* GodzillaThreshold: After they defeat Nightmare Eclipse and her Gallery and threaten to reset the timeline, they've become such a monstrous threat that Luna is willing to try and make a deal with Discord to regain the Element of Hope, as the complete Rainbows of Light and Darkness are the only hope of defeating them at that point.
* MakeWrongWhatOnceWentRight: After defeating Nightmare Eclipse and her Gallery, they find her time spell and begin plotting to rewrite history to create their own VillainWorld.
* ManOfKryptonite: As it turns out, they're this to Nightmares. As Nightmares are powered by negative energy and dark magic, the Sirens get stronger merely by being in the presence of one and can straight up devour many of their attacks. Mirror even outright says Nightmares ''can't'' defeat them. They're even more this to Eclipse and her Nightmare Gallery, as their corrupted Elements only make them stronger.
--> '''Aria:''' Rock beats scissors, Siren beats Nightmare!
* NoSell: The Nightmare Gallery's WorldWreckingWave Elements of Harmony not only don't work, they backfire and the Sirens straight up ''devour'' the rainbow because they corrupted them with their negative energy.
* PhysicalGoddess: While they'd ''already'' reached this level in their original battle, in the timeline they managed to force their way back into Equestria (thanks to Sunset), the negativity of [[BadFuture Dark World]] instantly causes them to power up to a point they can fight Nightmare Eclipse and her Gallery ''on even footing''. Note, Eclipse is ''stronger than Discord'' at this point. They even get new evolved forms resembling Alicorns. They grow even stronger than that and flat out ''win'' the fight.
* PowerCopying: In the loop where they fought Nightmare Eclipse, the Sirens figured out watching the Bearers fight her about the Elements having individual powers. Thus, Adagio found out her artificial Element of Magic lets her do this, and copies Eclipse's ResetButton spell.
* ResetButton: Adagio spell copies Eclipse's time reversal ability and starts using it against her. At first the two are fairly even and they cancel out, resulting in a TimeStandsStill effect. Eventually, Adagio gets so strong that she flat out overpowers Eclipse.
* ShoutOut: When Nightmare Whisper warns them they're outnumbered, their response is [[WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse "We might be outnumbered...but you're out of your depth."]]
* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: The main problem with Starswirl banishing them to the human world in general. It's revealed that while the human world has no magic and should be therefore render them powerless, they still kept their HatePlague and EmotionEater powers. Until Sunset opened the portal to Equestria, they have been sustaining themselves off witch hunts they fabricated, particularly in a certain place called [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salem_witch_trials Salem]] and starting {{Flame War}}s on the internet. This also applies to the main POV timeline as well.
* TimeMaster: Adagio copies Eclipse's ResetButton spell, and the Sirens eventually get so powerful that she outclasses Eclipse's. The Sirens then find Eclipse's time rewriting spell and threaten to usurp her control over the timeline. In one potential future, they ''succeeded''.
* WalkingSpoiler: All that's known of them so far requires knowledge of the time loops and thus Nightmare Eclipse.
