"Original" visage, do not steal.
A woman who speaks in    evil pink   . Host of Murder U and Murder-free. Gained godlike power over this particular universe after being murdered in a previous murdergame, and brought all the characters to Murder-free for "funsies". Meanwhile, she's running a murdergame of her own. Played by wingedcatgirl.

For her original self, see Vivi Elakha under A Game of Mafia.

  • Bookends: Her existence begins and ends with getting her neck snapped in a mansion.
  • Came Back Strong: Due to "incredibly precise circumstances", after being murdered, she gained godlike power over the pocket dimensions containing the Murder-free and Murder U worlds.
  • Canon Character All Along: Her death in The Turned Tables reveals that she was Vivi Elakha the whole time.
  • Dirty Coward: She claims that her real reason for running Murder U and Murder-free is to gain Ideaverse power so she can destroy TM Awe, and that she's only even attempting that because she fears she might be killed if she doesn't.
  • Domain Holder: The settings of Murder U and Murder-free are her creation, and as such she has complete control and knowledge of what goes on in them — though it has been shown that it's possible for things to escape her notice, such as when Hydroxyl was dropped off.
  • Everyone Calls Her "Barkeep": Since she's not telling anyone her name, the players are stuck referring to her as "the host", "the headmistress", or vague descriptors like "the pink woman".
  • Fair-Play Villain: In Murder U, she makes it quite clear that she only enforces her rules; despite being the Domain Holder who could theoretically crush anyone in an instant, she doesn't punish or even discourage those attempting to attack or rebel against her. She also makes no attempt to stop Ruby from exploiting a loophole in her rules, partly because she put that loophole there on purpose (Ruby's just taking it much further than intended).
  • Foreshadowing: Hints are dropped throughout The Murder-Free Hotel about her true identity as Vivi before it's finally revealed in The Turned Tables.
    • She freaks out at anything that reminds her of TM Awe, suggesting that she has had a bad experience with him, which getting murdered at his behest in A Game of Mafia certainly qualifies as.
    • She uses Eorzean units of time (bells, moons, suns) and invokes the Twelve when cursing, implying that she is familiar with that world, such as by originating from it.
    • She withholds her name, implying that she believes a player such as Finch or the other Vivi might recognize it.
    • She calls Cinderace "warm bun", just like the Elakhas.
  • Ironic Last Words: "Tonight won't be bloodless, I'm guessing". Indeed it is not; she herself is killed that very night.
  • It Amused Me: Her reason for creating the Murder-free Hotel? "Funsies". The ending of Murder U suggests that she may be lying, and actually doing it to harvest Ideaverse power from the hotel guests' memories.
  • Only Known By Her Nickname: In addition to the barkeep-type nicknames like "the host" and "the headmistress", a side story reveals that she also goes by "V". Presumably short for "Vivi".
  • Palette Swap: Due to wingedcatgirl self-admittedly not having any art skill, her "official" appearance is a sprite from The World Ends with You, recolored pink.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: At the end of Murder U, she resurrects those who died in the game. This isn't just her being nice and showing mercy, however — as she explains, the dead don't remember, and so can't be harvested for Ideaverse power.
  • She Who Fights Monsters: She makes clear that her primary motivation is the destruction of TM Awe. However, she accomplishes this by copying his tactic of harvesting Ideaverse power from murdergames, leading several players to accuse her of becoming just like him.
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: In The Turned Tables, she shows a curious tendency to just already be in places the players were asked to meet, without anyone noticing her actually going there.
  • This Was Her True Form: Whatever glamour she was using to look like a pink lightbulb faded when she was killed in The Turned Tables, revealing her true form as Vivi Elakha.
  • Withholding Their Name: When Cinderace asks her name in the murder-free AU, her only response is "... Classified." Given that the other Vivi was right there at the time, it can be presumed that she didn't want to reveal her identity.

  • Dark and Troubled Past: After questioning how several animal-based people of the cast of Decrypto can show themselves as who they are just fine, she reveals that she was essentially experimented on, and is on the run from those people for years.
Cass: So I have to ask...I can't go anywhere without being chased to get tested on. How do you guys do it? I have to hide...but you all have your species in your name. Looking at you, Tiger.
Hitomi: Oh gross, gross gross gross. Your world stinks.
Cass: Yeah, I know. And the worst part? They're after me because I escaped. They bred me...turned me into...what I am, and basically just tested me out and stuck me in a cage for 3 years or so...only escape a few years back. Now, they're just trying to find me...it puts a lot of stress on me. Just...please don't tell anyone, ok? They're probably gonna have a car set up at the studio if they even spot me here.
