- Animal Motifs: Wolves. Battanians are powerful hunters who are greatly skilled with bows and tend to fight in groups, similar to wolves fighting in packs. One of the minor factions, the Wolfskins, originate from Battania and several Battanian troops are seen wearing wolf pelts.
- Color Motifs: Green. The Battanians are forest dwellers and their banner is a green field with the Celtic Triskelion on it.
- Fantasy Counterpart Culture: Of the Insular Celts of the British Isles, particularly the Gaelsnote and Welsh of the early medieval era. They also have a very slight hint of Dacian and Thracian influence in the form of the falx, which was almost entirely unique to those cultures
- Rain of Arrows: Their noble troop line are elite archers, and the Fian Champions in particular can wipe out entire armies by themselves.
- Remember the New Guy?: They have no equivalent in the original game or Warband. In the first game their old territory is within Swadia, suggesting the kingdom conquered and assimilated the Battanian peoples, and the Forest Bandits might be The Remnant.
- Trickster Archetype: the Battanians have a love for tricksters and mischief, such as the champion who dines with a rival tribe, and, regaling his hosts with an anecdote of battle, produces from his bag the skull of one of their kinsmen that he took as a souvenir.

Caladog
The king of Battania and the leader of the fen Gruffendoc clan.- Altar Diplomacy: How he swells his clan with his comrades-in-arms.
- Expy: Of Gruffyd Ap Llywellyn, a similarly ruthless but charismatic king of Wales.
- Make It Look Like an Accident: Sure was convenient that the former High King disappeared in that 'hunting accident', wasn't it?
- Rags to Royalty: Of no great lineage, but adopted into the old High King's entourage.
- Working-Class Hero: The other clans admire his lower-class origins and discomfiting of the traditional hierarchy of clans.

Ergeon
Ergeon
Head of clan fer Derngil, and younger brother of the previous high king.- Sour Supporter: While the fen Derngil clan resents Caladog’s low-born lineage and is deeply suspicious of the last high king’s disappearance, Ergeon will readily admit that Aeril/Uthelain could never have pulled off the victory Caladog won, and internal files state that he greatly appreciates the stability Caladog’s strong rule has brought to Batannia. As such, he insists that his clan back Caladog, despite their reservations.
- Cool Old Guy
Uthelain/Aeril
Uthelain/Aeril
The previous king of Batannia. Disappeared during a hunting trip, allowing his adoptive son Caladog to take his place and lead Batannia into the Battle of Pendraic.- Never Found the Body: Vanished without a trace some time before the Battle of Pendraic, rather conveniently for Caladog.

- Jumped at the Call: Right there in the name, unlike the other kingdoms' recruits ostensibly being levied the Battanians willingly sign on. Doesn't mean you can't pull them out of villages and towns, or from your prisoners, just like any other troop though.

Falxmen]
- BFS: The falxes they use are classified as two-handed swords in game, and are pretty big.
- Glass Cannon: Wear almost no armor but can put out a tremendous amount of damage.
- Sinister Scythe: As their name implies they wield falxes as their main weapon, which in real life scared the Romans enough to design new armor and in game are some of the heaviest-hitting weapons at their tier.

Fian Champions
- BFS: They carry two-handed swords as a backup weapon, and are perfectly capable of fighting with them.
- Cold Sniper: A medieval version, having a ludicrous 260 bow skill, letting them hit targets at a distance and speed that other archers could only dream of.
