(UNDER CONSTRUCTION)
The state of Calradia has led to the bloodthirsty and the desperate to take up banditry as a way of life. Bandits can be found in every land looking for ripe opportunities to strike, taking from anyone and everyone they can. Along with the universal Looters there are unique, and more dangerous, bandits which appear depending on the region.

Tropes that apply to all Bandits

  • Hardcoded Hostility: Bandits are invariably flagged as an enemy to every faction except other bandits, and likewise will see the player as hostile regardless of affiliation.
  • Magikarp Power: With the right perk, recruited bandits can be upgraded into regular units, typically high tier infantry or as the noble units of their respective region.
  • Recruiting the Criminal: Captured bandits can be recruited into a player party at the cost of a heightened morale loss over regular captured troops. At higher tiers bandits may surrender to a player outright with the option of taking them into the party.

Forest Bandits
The Forest Bandits can be found wherever the trees still stand thick in Calradia, harassing anyone who strays too closely with their fearsome archery skills. While typically fewer in number than other bandits, they can prove to be an extremely dangerous foe to the unprepared.

Forest Bandits as a group:

  • Pelts of the Barbarian: Much of their clothing consists of animal hides and fur armor, reflecting their forest living.
  • Weapon Specialization: Every Forest bandit unit is an archer with relatively lackluster skills in melee.

Looters
Looters can be found from the far north of Sturgia to the southern regions of Aserai, usually found as wandering groups of a few dozen, these low level criminals are typically the first foes one faces and remain a constant enemy throughout the game.

Looters as a group:

  • The Goomba: The most common enemy in the game, appearing in every region and always as groups of low level enemies.
  • Improvised Weapon: The majority of looters make use of simple tools or farming equipment as weapons, including pitchforks, scythes, mallets, and wood chopping axes.
  • Machete Mayhem: Some Looters carry falchions, a type of one-handed sword which is broadly similar to a machete.
  • Zerg Rush: They have a tendency to appear in larger groups than other bandits, with their parties possibly numbering in the hundreds. It's not of much help to them, though.

Mountain Bandits
The Mountain Bandits terrorize the highlands of Calradia, mostly appearing in the hilly territories surrounding Battania and the Empire.

Mountain Bandits as a group:

  • Machete Mayhem: Make heavy use of falchions as a primary weapon, unlike their Looter counterparts who carry them only seldomly.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: Their lowest-tier units have a tendency to go completely bare-chested, wearing only boots and a pair of shorts.

Sea Raiders
The Sea Raiders are a group of pirates and mercenaries which hary the coastlines from Sturgia to Vlandia, making their hideouts in coastal caves which serve as natural fortresses and harbors.

Sea Raiders as a group:

  • Horny Vikings: True to form the Sea Raiders lean hard into a Viking image with their Chiefs and Bosses wearing goggled helmets and carrying two-handed axes.
  • Javelin Thrower: Many carry fish harpoons as a thrown weapon, and despite their crude appearance they can do a frightening amount of damage should they connect.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: One of the few groups of bandits which regularly carry shields, giving them slightly better defense than typical for a bandit faction.
